IntroductionWith the world growth and development, the problem of limited power became apparent. Limited energy became one of the main problems that scientists, engineers, and institutions worldwide worked to overcome. As it is known, electrical consumption operates mainly on Alternating Current (AC). All equipment that operate on AC currents consume two types of power:a. Active Power –measured by KWb. Reactive Power –measured by Kvar
In the final decades on the 20th century, we were introduced to Power Factor Correction technologies (PFC) that function by adding capacitor banks relative to the load requirements which add to the load a reactive current that is supplied by the source, leading to an increase in the consumed active power. That benefited the user by avoiding the payment of penalties on reactive power but on the other hand increased the cost due to increased consumption of active power.

Introduction
APSS is the result of 15 years research and development in the field of energy saving.
When applied to an electrical network, APSS reduces the amount of consumed active power and hence the operational cost of fuel and equipment.

The (APSS) unit uses components that go through ionic treatment with a combination of special materials creating super‐conductivity with a negative resistance, which act as a current source in the network , allowing us to add the current component in the direction of the active current and another one in the direction of the reactive current, therefore, we reduce the power consumed (KW) from the source without affecting the load.

The cable losses are proportional to the square of the current value (this squared value is added to the counters readings of the KW. hr), i.e.: reducing the consumed current by 20% reduces significantly the cable losses. General compensation could be applied for a group of loads or a complete network by installing the system on the main feeders' bus bars as long as the network is stable.

We are all aware that energy saving through power factor Improvement mainly depends on Installing capacitors that adds current on load Increase and hence decreasing current from source. There are three possibilities for current added through capacitors:
1. Capacitors that are not equipped with any Internal resistance; In this case It adds to the reactive current without any Increase In active current. (This kind of device Is not available In the market)
2. Capacitors that are equipped with internal resistance and mainly function to decrease reactive current from source which Increase consumption, as shown In figure (b). According to IEC power factor correction panel should never be more 2 W/kVAr.
3. Capacitors that are equipped with a negative resistance (Introduced APSS system). It functions to decrease both active and reactive currents and hence decreasing consumption and power factor, as shown in figure (c).

How to improve Power Factor?
