15February2019DearParents,TheSpringTermisalwaysacompactandconcentratedtermandassuchwefindourselvesatHalfTermalready.Girlsandboyshavebeen sitting examsandhad interviews for theirnext schoolsduringthecourseofthishalfoftermandmanyoftheresultsarecomingintoday.IhopetobeabletosharethesewithyouafterHalfTerm,butinitialoutcomesareexcellentonceagain.Academic rigour and an enquiring mind arewhatweaimtonurture inallourpupilsbutasyouwell know that is notwherewe stop. Theopportunities in sport and the arts are vital inhelpingtocreateafullyroundedchild.Thistermevery pupil inMain School, encompassing fouryear groups, has represented the school in atleast one sports fixture and earlier this weekevery pupil in Upper Kappa and Upper DeltatookpartinaDramaShowcaseonthethemeof“The Circus of Poems”. These evenings werevery well attended and the boys and girlscertainlyrespondedtothesupporttheyreceivedfromtheaudience.Itisalwaysremarkabletoseewhatthesechildren,whoarestillonlysevenoreightyearsold,areabletoachievewhengivenjustalittleencouragement.TherewillbemoredramaattheendoftermwhentheboysintheLowerSixthwill bepresenting theirmusicalMadagascar.
