1. TRA CANCELLATION DUE TO LOW ENROLLMENT
The TRA may need to cancel programs with insufficient registration or due to instructor availability. Should this
occur, participants may choose from the following options:
A) Transfer to another program where space is still available.
B) Receive an account credit on the household TRA account.
C) Receive a cheque for the full amount of the program, which will be available for pick up within 3-6
weeks after the class cancellation.
Should a class be cancelled, you will be notified by phone or email no later than two days prior to the commence-
ment of the class and will be asked to select one of these three options at this time.
2. WITHDRAWAL/TRANSFER REQUESTS
All program withdrawals/transfer requests must be made in writing to the Recreation Manager at
For your convenience and flexibility, a refund will be issued should the withdrawal request be sent 14 or more
days before the program start date in the form of account credit or cheque, less a $15 administration fee.
• Requests to withdraw from a day camp less than 14 days prior to the first day of program will be charged a
25% program fee and a $15 administration fee will apply.
• Failure to attend does not cancel the enrollment and refunds will not be issued.
• Refunds will be issued to participants who are unable to attend camp due to illness. A credit will be applied to
your TRA account for the days in which they could not attend.
• Refunds of $25 or less will only be credited to the household TRA account.
• NSF cheques are subject to an additional $50 fee.

Day Camps FAQ’s
1. How many children will be in camp?
*Day camp programs may operate in cohorts of 10 people. This includes both staff and children (8 children
and 2 staff).
*A cohort is defined as a group of children and staff members assigned to them who stay together
throughout the day. Depending on the need, The TRA summer Day Camps may have up to 2 cohorts at a
time.
2. Can children or day camp staff change cohorts?
*No. Staff members and children will be designated a cohort for the week and will not be able to switch.
*Children from the same household will be placed in the same cohort.
3. Are children expected to physically distance during day camps?
*While it is understood that caring for children does not allow for a 2 metre separation, it is recommended
this distance is maintained where possible. For example, staff should try to maintain 2 metres of space be
tween each other and close greetings like hugs or handshakes will be avoided. Staff will also plan for physically
distant activities such as shadow tag and avoid activities that require clustering around a particular item or
small area.
*Cohorts cannot mix with other cohorts or be within the same room/space at the same time, including
pickups and drop-offs, mealtimes, playtime, outdoor activities, staff rooms, etc.
*Children will physically distance at all times while eating.
4. Are masks required?
*Masks are not mandatory; however, if a mask is used in a program the person needs to follow the public
health guideline on how to use the mask.
5. Will there be any field trips?
*To align with physical distancing requirements, field trips and activities requiring group transportation are
prohibited.
*There will be no non-essential visitors and no volunteers at the program.
6. What is the illness Policy?
*Staff members, parents, and children must not enter the day camp space if they are sick, even if symptoms
resemble a mild cold. Symptoms to look for include but are not limited to fever, cough, shortness of breath,
sore throat, runny nose, nasal congestion, headache, and a general feeling of being unwell.
*Parents are required to check children’s temperature daily before coming to the program and complete an
active symptom screening form. Day camp staff will conduct active symptom screening of each child before
entering the program.
*Should your child be unable to attend camp due to illness a credit will be applied to your TRA account for
the days in which they could not attend.
*If a child develops symptoms while at the program, the child will be isolated away from other children and
the parent or guardian will be notified to come and pick up the child immediately.
7. What is the cleaning protocol?
*Day camps will engage in frequent, thorough cleaning and disinfecting each day.
*Frequently touched objects and surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized as per AHS’ Public Health Guidelines
for Environmental Cleaning of Public Facilities during Respiratory Illnesses in the Community.
*All spaces need to be cleaned before and after use if children are moved within a program or play equipment.
8. What happens if a child in the program is identified as having a symptom?
*If a child is identified as having symptoms consistent with COVID-19, the day camp program will follow out
break notification procedures as per routine zone protocols.
[email protected]: 403-943-2288 * If a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19 is identified the program will be required to close for a minimum of 72 hours to allow contact tracing, and then adhere to recommendations from Alberta Health.
9. What are program hours? Is there Before and After Care?
*Day camps will run from 9:00am-4:00pm and will be closed on holidays.
*There will be no before and after care option.
