haschangedmarkedlyoverthedecades,

whathasnotchangedistherealitythat

thehealthoftheCityisintimatelylinked

tothehealthofthedowntown.

TheAssociationhas

anambitiouswork

planfortheyear

ahead.

YourBoardextendsawarmwelcometoover

twentysevennewpropertyownerstoour

businessfamilythisyear.Theboundariesof

theBIAwereofficiallyrevisedinMarchto

includeareastotheeast,westandnorthof

ourtraditionaldowntown.Weareinvestigating

abannercampaigntodemarkournewBIA

boundaries.OurAssociationnowspeaks

withavoiceof430+membersstrong.

Highlightsforthisyear’sworkplan

include,amongotherprojects,an

“on-streetpatio”program,astrategic

investmentinbusinessrecruitment,

involvementintherevisionofstreetscape

guidelinesforthecore,and,newprogramming

duringDowntownStreetfestthisFather’s

Dayweekend.Ilookforwardtoleading

ateamofdedicatedvolunteersandstaff

throughanexcitingyearofchangeforour

businesscommunity.

situationswiththeemphasisoncrime

preventionandhelpingindividualsand

groupsgainaccountabilityfortheirsituations

throughcontactwithotherhelpingagencies.
