remembered her. He also said that since having her in class the year before he and his family had cut out sugary drinks and now they only drink water, milk, juice. His parents also drink tea and coffee occasionally but mostly water and milk. He was able to answer all the questions about the topics discussed for the six classes. Success!! Children are absorbing and they are taking the info home to their family!!

Impact of 4-H and 4-H STEM Initiatives“As the knowledge economy continues to take shape, the types of necessary skills that employers identify are moving beyond basic skills (e.g., math, reading, and writing) to more applied skills (e.g., problem solving, professionalism, and critical thinking). Predictions for the future suggest this trend will continue and include more and more complex, non-routine skills.” Vice President’s Conversation on the Future Trend Research: Alignment of Employee Skills with Job Needs Author(s) and date Nate Arnett & Graham R. Cochran Rev.1/7/2015
“Placing sole responsibility for the solution on employers, educational institutions, or individual workers has caused the skills gap to increase and a systems approach is needed to make positive change. Ohio has an opportunity to create a competitive advantage on a global scale if it can successfully address the skills gap and supply a skilled and professional workforce.” Vice President’s Conversation on the Future Trend Research: Alignment of Employee Skills with Job Needs Author(s) and date Nate Arnett & Graham R. WHEREAS, The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as food stamps, is one of our nation’s most powerful and effective anti-poverty programs, helping 1 in 7 struggling Ohioans put healthy food on their tables; and
WHEREAS, SNAP participants include the elderly, individuals with disabilities, low-income working families with children, and those struggling to find work; and
WHEREAS, SNAP reflects our nation’s long-term bipartisan commitment to ensure that no American goes hungry; and
WHEREAS, SNAP has been proven to not only reduce poverty but also support state and local businesses by driving spending at grocery stores in the community, including 9,644 authorized SNAP retailers in Ohio, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities; and
WHEREAS, SNAP has also been proven to improve public health and lead to lasting benefits for children, including an increased likelihood that adults who used SNAP as children will graduate from high school and a decreased likelihood that they will suffer long-term health problems like obesity and heart disease; and
WHEREAS, In Lorain County, 37,300 residents participate and receive a modest monthly SNAP of $124.00; and
WHEREAS, Some members of Ohio’s congressional delegation serve on the House and Senate Agriculture Committees, which has jurisdiction over SNAP; and
WHEREAS, Congress will be reauthorizing the SNAP program as part of the Farm Bill in 2018; and
WHEREAS The Trump Administration’s proposed budget released on February 12, 2018, would cut SNAP by nearly 30 percent and radically restructure the program; and
WHEREAS, Some of the Administration’s proposals for SNAP, such as exposing more people to the stringent three-month time limit, have already been tried in Ohio with devastating results; and
WHEREAS, The Ohio Association of Foodbanks found that nearly 370,000 fewer Ohioans are enrolled in SNAP since the resumption of work requirements in October of 2013; and
