Working for a cleaner environment

Introducing zoomWith fuel prices now at record highs, the cost of filling up is eating into the pockets of motorists and businesses’ profit margins alike. Experts are also predicting the onset of peak oil, signalling that the price of petrol and diesel will either remain stagnant for a while yet, or likelier still, increase even further in the near future.

This is where zoom comes in. Here’s what zoom is:

• A 100% organic fuel combustion catalyst

• Developed and perfected for the last 30 years in Sweden

• A compound proven to lower your fuel bills by reducing ignition delay and improving combustion quality inside the engine

• A formula that helps you eke out more energy from every drop of fuel that goes into your engine

• The most cost-effective fuel-saving solution on the market today

As a result of the increased burning efficiency, you’ll cut your carbon footprint by reducing harmful emissions and the amount of soot particles coming out of your exhaust. And it’s all achieved in the most convenient way possible – without breaking your fuelling habits.

By using zoom, you will:• Save fuel – up to 12% in diesel / up to 8% in petrol

• Reduce emissions – up to 24% reduction in carbon monoxide

• Improve engine performance – by the burning off of excess deposits and higher compression

• Reduced wear on pistons and valves – as a result of a cleaner engine

Zoom can be used in any internal combustion engine burning fossil fuel: in cars, buses, vans, trucks, tractors, generators, boats – you name it.

It is by far the most cost-effective fuel-saving solution on the market today.

Don’t believe it? Think it sounds too good to be true?

Don’t take our word for it, use a minimal amount in your own vehicle and see the results for yourself.

Working for a cleaner environment

How does zoom work?In short, it works in two ways:

1. By improving the combustion quality, helping fuel burn more efficiently.

2. By increasing the effectiveness of the engine.

A brief introduction to the combustion process Fuel molecules h are made up of a number of hydrocarbons – i.e. hydrogen andcarbon molecules. In the combustion chamber, oxygen combines with the fuel molecules. A complete combustion produces only water – hydrogen and oxygen – and carbon dioxide.

However, an incomplete combustion produces carbon monoxide, nitrous oxides, soot and tar dust (in the case of diesels) that either sticks to the combustion chamber, or further adds to the pollution.

That leads to even further inefficient fuel combustion.

Small and light molecules burn easily, while heavier molecules burn slower.

With zoom:• Fuel is burnt at an increased temperature and more energy is released

from the fuel, which oxidises the soot and tar that would’ve otherwise remained to form soot/coke deposits or expelled with the exhaust gases.

• Condition of valves and piston rings is improved by burning off soot and carbon deposits, resulting in normalised compression.

• The reduced cylinder leakage and more complete combustion further contribute to reduction of fuel consumed.

What’s the catch?Quite simply, there isn’t one.

zoom has no negative effect on a vehicle’s engine, its lubrication or other components.

“zoom has a notably

positive effect on the

ignition delay, which

results in a more

efficient and complete

combustion process.”

How do I

use zoom?1. Measure out the dosageThe treatment ratio of zoom is:

Metric: 1 litre of zoom for every 6000 litres of fuel.Imperial: 1 gallon of zoom for every 1300 gallons of fuel.

This is why zoom is highly cost effective – the dosage rates are very low.

2. Add to tankThere is no mixing involved. Simply add it to your fuel tank before filling up.zoom comes in handy bottles that have a dosage chamber at the top,so you can measure out the exact amount you need if you’re filling upeach vehicle separately.

If you have a central filling point for a fleet of vehicles, simply add the correct dosage of zoom to the central tank.

3. Drive! It’s as simple as that. No hassle. No fuss.

Handling and storage • zoom is an organic compound but must

be handled with care.

• zoom shouldn’t be exposed to sunlight unnecessarily.

• zoom treats fuel at a ratio of 1:6000.

• An opened container should be stored sealed.

Overdosing is not harmful, but won’t increase the effect.

4

Simple to use. Just add zoom to your fuel tank before filling up.

The results

Fuel consumptionIn terms of fuel consumption, you can expect to notice up to 8% improvement in fuel economy in a petrol-powered vehicle, and up to 12% with a diesel engine. In some cases, the improvements in fuel economy can be even higher.

If you run a diesel vehicle, take your current annual fuel bill and multiply it by 0.88 to see what your new fuel bill could

look like with zoom combustion catalyst.

EmissionsIn terms of reduced emissions, figures will vary according to a vehicle’s age, condition, and the number of miles it’s covered.

However, for an idea on what can be achieved, the following three case studies will show the results gained from

using zoom. Each trial/test was carried out by independent researchers and organisations.

Other benefits to using zoom:• Less smoke coming out of the exhaust

particularly with diesels.

• A less toxic exhaust gas an important health benefit for anyone constantly working around the

vehicle. Drivers in the haulage industry have reported that their allergic reactions to working around their truck disappeared with the use of zoom.

Case study 1

The AVL-MTC resultsAVL, the world’s largest privately owned and independent developer ofpowertrain systems with internal combustion engines, carried out tests withour combustion catalyst added to the fuel in various engines.

With a 17-tonne articulated Volvo B9S bus, model year 2005, AVL carriedout a 5-month test and found that fuel consumption was reduced by 7.7%.

The test was carried out on behalf of a major Swedish bus company thatcarries over 2 million passengers a year, who commissioned the tests.

Emissions results after using zoom averaged the following:

CO2 – carbon dioxide -2.4%Toxic in large quantities. Speeds up greenhouse effect.

CO – carbon monoxide -24.3%A toxic gas. When inhaled, our ability to absorb oxygen is stymied

HC – hydrocarbons -31.8%Affects respiratory organs, and can cause asthma and other allergies. Speeds up development of cancer. One cause of smog.

NOx – nitrous oxides -2.4%Very toxic gas. Irritate the respiratory organs and poisons in high concentrations. One cause of smog.

C – solid soot particles (in diesel) -11.5%Solid soot particles, combined with formaldehyde, cause severe damage to the respiratory organs Induces heart disease and cancer.

Case study 2The Dansk Autohjælp results

Dansk Autohjælp, Denmark’s equivalent of the UK’s Automobile Association, ran tests with a 2006-model MAN truck.

It found that with the use of our combustion catalyst:

• CO2 emissions were down by 35.5% with the engine running idle and by 38.9% when engine run at 1300rpm.

• Fuel consumption decreased by 20%.

“ Those drivers at Dansk Autohjælp whom have used this truck, also reports a better pulling power. This is most noticeable at the ‘mid-acceleration’ point.”

“Our drivers spend a great deal of their time working next to the truck when the truck is running idle. They are therefore greatly exposed to toxic emissions. In connection with this, one of the drivers using this truck reported that the smell and soot from emissions were almost eliminated, which also was confirmed by the smoke test done by Danhill Energy Solution A/S. As this specific driver had been suffering from allergic reactions to the emissions, as well as headaches, using this additive gave him a noticeable better working environment.”

“Using the liquid combustion catalyst is a very good investment – we also save money on fuel.”

Comments: “The catalytic soot filter arouses strong resistance to the (exhaust gas) flow. Strong influence of Safe Petroleums’ organic combustion catalyst can be noticed as far as the flow resistance is concerned. Within the range of 100 - 300 Nm moment load in the series of experiments with the application of the additive the flow resistance diminished twice or almost three times. It was probably caused by a smaller amount of soot on the filter that is by its better burning. It is accompanied by a quite meaningful decrease in fuel consumption. 0.5 to 1.0 kg/h. i.e. on average, several percent.”

“The content of solid particles and carbon oxide as a function of engine load considerably decreased, even by 1 unit in Bosch scale (about 25% - from 3,6 to 2.5).”

“Application of the

combustion catalyst

to diesel fuel in the

amount of about 0.025 %

of its volume improves

fuel consumption.”

reduction of exhaust gas

toxicity when adding this

Case study 3 cont.

...Comments cont.: “The maximal relative smokiness reduction which was observed, from 1.1 to 0.6 in Bosch scale took place at the load of 200 Nm (almost 50 %).”

“In the case of some engine states a considerable influence of the applied additive on catalytic burning of carbon oxide is observed.”

“To sum up, it has to be stated that applied to diesel fuel, the organic combustion catalyst acts effectively in reducing exhaust toxicity, diminishes the content of solid particles as well as carbon oxide and nitrous oxide and improves the combustion economy by a several percent decrease in fuel consumption. It is necessary to point out that the additive is added to fuel in very small amounts of about 0.025 %.”

Conclusions:• Application of this organic fuel catalyst to diesel fuel in the amount of about 0.025 % of its volume improves fuel consumption both calculated per 1kg fuel per 1 motor hour of engine running and also expressed in grams of fuel per 1 kWh of produced energy. A particularly advantageous effect of application of Safe Petroleums’ organic combustion catalyst was observed in the case of an exhaust gas system with an in-built catalytic soot filter.

• Engine examination proved a considerable influence of application of the organic fuel catalyst to diesel fuel on reducing exhaust gas toxicity. This effect was observed for each of the tested systems, i.e. with a catalytic soot filter, with an in-built catalytic converter and in the configuration without a soot filter and without a catalytic converter.

The influence of

application of the

additive on diminishing

solid particles emission is

particularly distinct.

About uszoom is made by Safe Petroleum Safe Petroleum AB is a Swedish research and development company within the environmental chemistry industry. Founded in 1980, extensive research and testing has led to the development of the organic combustion catalyst MERGI.

Safe Petroleum MERGI is used extensively by world renowned shipping companies in their effort to reduce harmful emissions and achieve cost-saving efficiency by lowering fuel consumption and dramatically reducing soot deposits, and in turn reducing maintenance costs.

The success of MERGI has meant that over 75 million tonnes of HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil) is treated with it every year, saving around 3 million tonnes of fuel, cutting operational costs dramatically and helping to reduce environmental damage.

With even greater emphasis on the environment today and rising land-based fuel prices, MERGI has been adapted for lighter fossil fuels, and the result is now zoom.
