No longer chrome-VI
After many years of use of hexavalent
chromium for galvanic coating as corrosion
protection, legislative authorities and also the
market call for a change.
Due to new guidelines the elimination of
chrome-VI will become a matter of course for
the automobile industry as well as machinery
construction.
Yellow chromating will therefore step-by-step
be replaced by zinc-nickel coating.
Yellow chromating has granted process
reliability to the user over years, also within the
field of central lubrication. The A3C surface
had excellent corrosion protective properties
against white rust and red rust.
Improved corrosion protection by ZnNi
Zinc-nickel coating does not only considerably
increase the corrosion resistance but is also
characterized by highest environmental
compatibility and a high-quality appearance.
Surfaces coated with zinc-nickel prove to have
a significantly higher resistance against
corrosion than the previous solution with A3C.
Red rust has only developed after 720 h of
salt-spray testing according to DIN EN ISO 9227.
BEKA puts the focus on ZnNi
As this new coating offers so many advantages,
we deliver all relevant components and parts*
with it, like e.g. lubricant distributors, fittings,
fixtures and bases, pump elements and others.
* Due to technical reasons zinc flake coatings are used as
an alternative for small parts. However, those also have a
corrosion resistance of 720h.

Progressive distributor type LX-4 with ZnNi-coating
Advantages of ZnNi coating:
High corrosion resistance
Free of hexavalent chromium
The zinc-nickel base layer is much more resistant to corrosion than zinc
White rust only occurs as a slight grey coating
Provably better corrosion resistance compared to previous A3C standard
Already well-proven standard for the European automobile industry
