Day 1 Monday 11 May Hong Kong – Shenzhen /Zhangjiajie CZ 3991 2025/2145 (1 hour 20 min) Enjoy your Monday in Hong Kong before you are picked up from your home and transferred to Shenzhen Airport for our direct flight to Zhangjiajie. We will be then transferred to the Pullman Hotel to rest up for our days of exploring. Day 2 Tuesday 12 May Zhangjiajie This morning we will drive 40 minutes to the National Forest Park and take a cable car up the mountain. From a suspended scenic platform, we will have a birds’ eye view of unique rock formations. We will also visit Six Wonders Pavilion, which stands on top of Yellow Stone Stronghold. This is the village among the natural scenery. The “six wonders” refer to mountain, water, stone, cloud, plant, and animals. (3km – 1.5 hours hiking –mostly flat, some steps) After lunch, we will hike along the Golden Whip Stream. Here we will enjoy a tour along twisted roads with many nice stops for photographs and an opportunity to commune with nature. (7km - 3 hours hiking – flat) (B,L,D) Day 3 Wednesday 13 May Zhangjiajie – Tianzi “Avatar” Mountain This morning we will drive to Tianzi Mountain and take another cable car (don’t worry…we take it down, too!) to soar over hundreds of peaks. Tianzi Mountain is defined as a miniaturized fairyland with expanded bonsai. We will visit He Long Park which also boasts amazing viewing platforms. We will also see a large valley walled by high cliffs. (1.5 km - 1 hour walking) This afternoon brings us to the inspiration for the set painters of Avatar! We will begin by sightseeing in the 10 miles Natural Gallery (2km 1 hour walking – flat) with its picturesque views. We will then transfer to Yuanjiajie and explore “Avatar” Mountain. (2 km 1.5 hours hiking – flat with some steps) Later, we will take the Bailong Elevator (the tallest outdoor elevator in the world) down the mountain. (B,L,D) Day 4 Thursday 14 May Zhangjiajie – Tianmen Mountain Tianmen Mountain National Park (also known as Heaven Gate Mountain) is our destination this morning. Today’s cable car ride is the longest cable car in the world! As we float above the park we will marvel at the stunning 99 hairpin turns cut from the high cliffs. After reaching the base platform, a long flight of stairs leads us towards Tianmen Cave – a natural water eroded cave (the highest in the world) known as “Heaven Reaching Ladder” (4 km – 2 hours hiking – flat; 99 steps on the Ladder. Your choice to climb or wait for the others!) This evening we will enjoy the Tianmen Fox Fairy Show with VIP seats. This live musical drama, with the high mountains and deep valleys as its background, promises to be the perfect ending to a long, fulfilling day of amazing scenery. Day 5 Friday, 15 May Zhangjiajie/Shenzhen – Hong Kong Zhangjiajie – Shenzhen/Hong Kong CZ 3992 2235/0005 (1 hour 30 min) The past few days we have marveled at the scenery ABOVE the ground. Today’s tour promises something quite different! We will explore the underground wonderland of Yellow Dragon Cave with its long twisted roads and many stalagmite and stalactite formations. It also boasts dry caves, wet caves, 13 chambers, 4 ponds and 19 corridors, all fitting into 13 kilometers. (4km, 2 hours hiking in the cave; many steps, slippery due to location; okay to turn back if need be!) After lunch, we will wind down our trip and prepare for the quick flight home by visiting the Baofeng Lake Scenic Area. We will enjoy a cruise on Baofeng Lake where we can see stone peaks and green trees reflecting in the clear waters. This evening we will drive back to the airport for our return flight to Shenzhen. Upon arrival, we will be picked up at the airport and transported back to our home addresses in Hong Kong! There is a non-refundable HK $1100 charge if you have been accepted on the tour and cancel for any reason. The balance of your deposit is non-refundable as of 12 February 2015, unless the space can be filled from a waiting list.

Price Excludes: Visa, personal expenses (ie. laundry, bar & phone and excess baggage charges) Medical and travel insurance and any emergency expenses or costs incurred due to the delay of air/land carriers that are beyond our control.

Remember, signups are first come, first served beginning 1 December By using a credit card, you are authorizing payment for BOTH your Deposit AND your Final Balance payment. Your Deposit will be charged to your card when you are accepted on the tour. A 3% fee will be added to payments by credit card. This fee is only refundable if this trip is canceled by the AWA. Note the Final Balance Payment Date on which your Final Balance will be charged. You will receive an e-mail confirmation stating your status as “accepted” or “wait listed.” If you are waitlisted, your card will not be charged until you are accepted. A Word about Waitlists: If you sign up after this trip has filled, your name will be placed on a waitlist at no charge. If a place becomes available, you will be contacted and asked if you are still interested in this trip. At that point, you can decide whether or not to accept the place.
