Steps to be done within YouTube

Google+ is integrated with YouTube. As a result, many people see multiple accounts. This guide will walk you through how to choose the correct one for YouTube Analytics.

First, log into YouTube in a web browser.

In the top right corner of your browser window, you will see your account name, and an icon that you

have associated with it. Click the cog next to the word Upload and choose Analytics

If you have no data you will see something like this in the middle of the page:

If you click on the Video Manager instead of Anaytics, if you see that there are no uploads, you need to locate the account that you use for YouTube.

To change your account click the icon in the top right corner, then click Switch Account.

In the drop down that appears, you will note one account has a green check mark. That is your currently selected account. Choose a different account by clicking on it.

On the Uploads option, you will see that you have uploaded videos.

This is the account you should use when Authorizing.

If you visit youtube.com in a web browser, you can add your YouTube user to the end of your URL to see if that is the page you are interested in analyzing. For example, this is the URL / account for salesnextanalytics.

Why are there multiple options in my account?

This is because of the integration of YouTube with Google+. Before the integration, you had to create an account on YouTube and you would be assigned a single channel. To have multiple people manage this channel you would have to share the username and password to this account with everyone in your organization. After the integration, you can associate your YouTube account with a Google+ Page. You can then individually allow people Manage or Admin access to your Google+ Page, and they would in turn be allowed to manage the corporate YouTube Channel. This allows you to easily see who has access to the channel, and remove people’s access without having to change your password when an employee leaves the company. This also means that a single YouTube login would be able to seamlessly manage multiple pages by simply clicking “Switch Account” to change your active account.

How do I transfer my old YouTube Account to a Google+ Page to use these new features?

Ensure that you update any existing YouTube Dashboards to use the new Google+ Page Account. It should end in @pages.plusgoogle.com. You have to dis-associate the channel with your Google+ profile first. You can do so by visiting the

following URL: https://www.youtube.com/account_advanced

You will then have to wait 20 minutes for it to process. Once that time has passed visit the advanced

account page again (https://www.youtube.com/account_advanced) and click Connect Google + Page:

Choose the Page that you created earlier and click Next:

Once you have done this, log into Google Plus, and access that page:

Click Manage This Page:

At the top, click Managers:

Click Add Managers to add the account.

Add the accounts you wish to have access. NEXT Analytics will require Manager access at this time:

They will be grayed out until they have accepted the e-mail invite

Once they have accepted, they will appear as normal. You can then remove them at a later date.
