FROM PPT TO VIDEO
1. CREATE AN AUTOMATED POWERPOINT PRESENTATION PowerPoint gives you tools to create presentations (or slide shows) with
audio narration that run automatically.
This is probably the most work-intensive step.

3. PUBLISH THE VIDEO TO YOUR WEBSITE OR COURSE PAGE With Gmail and YouTube, it’s easy.

CREATE AN AUTOMATED PPT – 6 STEPS
1. CREATE A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION
For videos of 3 to 5 minutes in length,
shoot for presentations of10 to 12 slides.
5. RECORD SLIDE SHOW
*Check “Play Narrations” & “Use Timings.”
Start Recording from Beginning…

from file”*
*NOTE: I had to plug in an “audio device” (headphones) to get “Audio from file” to work.

FIND THE TIME LENGTH OF THE SLIDE

During Show”
1. Select the icon for the audio you just added.
2. Click Trim Audio

Use “Start Time” and “End Time” to:
1) select which portion of audio to use,
2) Trim audio to exact time length of slide.

Set Start Time.
Calculate End Time: Start Time + Time Length of Slide = End Time
00:02.500 + 00:11 = 00:13.500
Set “End Time.”

6. ADD A SOUNDTRACK d) SET AUDIO LEVEL
You want this soundtrack to play below the level of narration.
PREVIEW
Preview your recorded slide show with soundtrack.
You might need to tweek that soundtrack audio level.
PUBLISH VIDEO – 4 STEPS
(Check with your IT department on this one)
How we’re doing it at YVCC:
1. Create a Gmail account.
2. Create a YouTube account (thru gmail).
3. Upload videos to YouTube.
4. Embed videos in your Center’s webpage or in your course pages in your LMS (if you’re teaching online).
