Getting Started: What do you need?

• Microphone: Any one will work but here are some suggestions: Samson USB mic / Plantronic headset, Logitech also makes several headsets

• Computer: Laptop or desktop, speed not as important

• Software: Audacity (free)

Getting Started: Recording Audio

• Finding a place to record• Avoid high traffic areas• Keep an ear out for appliances or air vents

• Record directly into Audacity• Always make sure to do a test run before the day of the recording• Rushing and lack of planning leads to problems

• A well lit room / scene will yield the best results for any camera• Depending on scale, additional lighting might be suggested• Ideally the is a main source of light, and a less intense light to get rid of shadows

• Camera• Easiest suggested camera is an HD Flip Cam or even a Canon HV20/40/60
