Are you ready to start? Here are some initial questions to ask yourself?

1.Will you be doing the podcast/vodcast solo , in pairs, or in a group?2.What type of podcast/vodcast will you do (e.g. tip of the day, reviews, breaking news, interviews, PSA, etc.)?3.How long will the podcast/vodcast be?4.Will you just be talking or will you play music as well?5.Will you be using pictures and/or video clips?

Windows PC Sound Recorders

Sound Recorder can record audio from a microphone or headset.  The recorded audio can be saved in .wav. All versions prior to the Windows Vista version of Sound Recorder could apply some simple audio transformations:

• Inserting and/or mixing in audio from other files. • Splitting out parts of the current audio clip. • Increasing or decreasing volume in 25% increments. • Increase or decrease playback speed in 100%

increments. • Adding an echo

Convert the format:There are many different formats (file types) for audio files. It doesn’t matter, however, whether you use Windows’ Sound Recorder or Audacity or Garage Band – or a digital recorder, ultimately whatever you record will have to be converted to an .mp3 file to work on iTunes (Mac product but can be uploaded onto your PC or Zunes a Microsoft product).

So, Now You Have an MP3 or MP4 FileNow What?

Publishing your Podcast/Vodcast: Posterous

1. Posterous lets you post things online fast using email. You email [email protected] and they reply instantly with your new Posterous blog.

2. You can send anything! Posterous will accept any file you send and convert it to the most web friendly format available. They will host everything and publish it online instantly.

3. They will size a photo to a web-friendly size and post it.4. If you want music to play while people are viewing your photos, they

will drop the music into a web MP3 player so the readers can listen to it right there in their web browser.

5. They will code video so that it can be seen in flash player right there in the browser.

6. You can set a password to your site so only the readers you want can see it. They do not need an account to see your site.
