Developing your English and maths skills is a vital part of your programme of study at BMet. If you haven’t already achieved a 9-4 grade (the equivalent of an A*-C) grade in English and maths, we will help you work towards this. Qualifications in these subjects:

• are valued by employers and all education providers

• support you to get a job or progress to higher level courses /university

• help you develop skills which will be useful in your everyday life.

Vocational Qualifications

Vocational qualifications involve a mix of practical and theoretical study, that will develop specific skills and understanding linked to that particular field and will prepare you for further/higher education or employment. See pages 21 to 35 for the list of vocational courses.

Business & Professional Services

“I would strongly recommend that people go for Business and Professional Services related courses - because they are much more recognised now. There is so much potential, it’s not just in law. There are apprenticeships in policing, dentistry, pharmacy, business, marketing etc. And there are so many different types of apprenticeships out there. I don’t think university is for everyone. Me personally, I’m someone that would not enjoy going to university three or four days a week just studying. I would want to do something practical within my field as well. The fact that there are apprenticeship programs out there with various job titles, is very helpful for those individuals that like both the academic and practical side as well.”
