� Liverpool Property Solutions(LPS) has been voted the estateagent with the quickest responsetime in Liverpool by Rightmove.
The title was awarded at Rightmove’srecent event for estate agents atAintree Racecourse, after the onlineproperty portal collected results frommystery shoppers.
It was revealed that LPS respondedto enquiries within two minutes, withthe next closest agent at 25 minutes.

Jamie Oliver from Lostprophets is genuinely excited; you canhear it in his voice. To date the Welsh nu-metal rockers have
sold around 3.5 million records worldwide and they have justreleased their fifth studio album ‘Weapons’ and will play
Liverpool’s 02 Academy on 19 April as part of their UK tour. We caught up with him to talk about life in LA, skateboarding
in the Welsh Valley and the Scouse accent.
You’ve just got back from Australiaand are about to start anotherEuropean tour, where are you based?I’ve been based in LA for six years.Growing up in Wales I was alwayswatching skateboarding at Venice Beach onthe TV and then going out into the valleyputting my coat on and trying to doskateboarding tricks. I always wanted theCalifornian lifestyle, even then. When I gota chance to move to LA it was a no-brainer. How does it feel to be on the cusp ofanother big European tour? I couldn’tbe more enthusiastic. I’m really lookingforward to it. There is something to besaid for this new chapter we are about toembark on. Betrayed, our last album wasthe end of a chapter. We’ve actually outranall of our contracts with recording andmanagements companies so we have got anew team across the board. What can you tell us about Weapons?Ian (Watkins, lead singer) said it feels likeour debut album The Fake Sound of
Progress again. We’ve exorcised ourdemons. It’s new and fresh. After 12 yearsof doing this, it should be easy to create analbum but we are six creative Welsh guys.There’s an awful lot of passion involvedand sometimes that passion is explosive.This record is like the electrically chargednucleus of an atom and the six of us arepulling and pushing on it each way tomake it the best it can be.
We’re really proud of it. We could havemade it the same old, same old but we liketo challenge ourselves.
With our last album The Betrayed wescrapped a whole record’s worth ofmaterial. We didn’t want to put it out if wedidn’t believe in it. We have puteverything, our whole part on thisrecording. More than ever we have trustedour gut instincts and stopped looking atwhat is in and what is out.What can you tell us about your newsingle Bring Em’ down? It’s differentisn’t it? The first song from all of ouralbums is always a call to arms. When wewere younger we used to listen to PublicEnemy and Onyx who do Hip-Hopfighting talk songs. We did a little bit ofthat with this one. It’s also coming fromthe underdog mentality, being Welsh it’sabout feeling like the underdog.
How does it feel to be putting out afifth album? It’s incredible. Somethinghas happened to us. I for one am veryfocused right now, I think it comes withage and wisdom or maybe having a child.It’s like I’ve got a second wind. I’m firedup. I will be enjoying every moment ofthis tour and cherishing it.
They say footballers peak at 20 whereaswith UFC fighters they’re in their late 30’sand early 40’s fighting in the ring. I thinkyou get to a certain age and you feel likeyou give up caring a little bit so you give ityour all. What are you listening to at theminute? I’m listening to the new YoungGuns album. It is right up my street andthey are supporting us on tour. Where are you looking forward toplaying the most? The UK without adoubt, all of the UK is our home. We havethe best fans in the world. I see the samefaces that have supported us since thebeginning. It’s unbelievable. I’m so excitedto still be doing this. It’s a pure love forwhat we do for us and I thank the fans forputting me here.
I have to say I love the Scouse accent too. Our tour manager is KeithO’Neil who plays drums for Cast. We lovehis accent.

Having just bought her ownhome on a Bellwaydevelopment in Roby she isnow encouraging first timebuyers to come and getindependent free advice atthe 2012 First TimeBuyers Show.
HomesHub, thegovernment’saffordable homesagent in the NorthWest and part of thePlus Dane Group, ishosting the show,which takes place onApril 21 at the HalliwellJones stadium in Warrington.
“We’ve had hundreds oftickets downloaded already,”says Sandy. “But if you don’thave a ticket on the day wewon’t turn you away, there will be free parking and lots offree information.”
As a recent buyer herself,Sandy understands how firsttimers feel.
“I know how daunting it canbe to buy your first home,” says
Sandy. “Not a lot of peopleunderstand what sharedownership or shared equitymeans. People hear sharedownership and think 'who do Ihave to share the house with?'There’s an overkill of termssometimes and we can explainthem,” she adds.
The show will give would-bebuyers the chance to have
their questionsanswered.
“There will bedevelopers there,independentfinancialadvisors andsolicitors,” says
Sandy. “Peoplecan come along,
talk and get freeindependent advice. I
think people think ‘I can’tafford to buy a house, I’mpriced out of the market’ butthere are products that can helpwhich we can advise you about.”
Warrington was chosen as thelocation for the show becauseit’s a good mid-point for thewhole region but there will bedevelopers exhibiting who haveaffordable homes in Liverpool,Sefton and Knowsley.

“We give people advice as towhat schemes are best forthem,” explains Sandy. We wantto make the neighbourhoods weserve better places to live bygiving people more choice ofproperty and tenure types.”
We meet at the refreshinglydifferent Sidedoor in Liverpool’shistoric Georgian quarter wherethe interior is bright andappealing, the vintage furniturehas been lovingly restored andthere are fresh heather sprigs oneach table.
Sandy orders chicken Caesar salad while I opt for theveal meatballs.
Sandy’s salad dish comes withbacon, anchovies and croutonsand is “delicious.”
My meal is so well presentedwith chilli and sage that it lookstoo good to eat. The freshtomato sauce leaves a lot ofother meatball sauces farbehind.
As we tuck in Sandy explainssome of the misconceptions firsttime buyers might have.
“Since the mortgage markethas contracted people feel they
haven’t got a big enough depositso they might be living withparents or renting from a privatelandlord - which is fine – butthere are products such asshared ownership, shared equity and first buy wherepeople only need a smalldeposit. We can educate peopleabout these schemes andindependently recommendwhich is best for them.”

warm Liverpool evening saw crowds celebrating the opening of Carluccio’s newMetquarter restaurant.
The Italian godfather of gastronomy AntonioCarluccio came to Liverpool to celebrate the opening of his 59th restaurant. The author of 13 recipe booksand star of the BBC’s ‘Two Greedy Italians’ said: “I nowhope Liverpool will be famous for three things, theBeatles, football and Carluccios.”
A traditional Italian accordion player serenaded theguests with Italian favourites such as ‘That’s Amore',while guests including Liz McClaron, Jude Cisse andthe cast of Desperate Scousewives were treated tocomplimentary prosecco, mouth-watering canapés andthe restaurant’s signature dish of mushroom risotto.
