Residents are encouraged to maintain independence; however, staff will give extra help if needed. Assistance can be given with showering, personal hygiene and dressing, the dispensing of medication, dementia support, mobility, meal assistance, special diets, emotional support, rehabilitation and communication, with additional support available during any short-term illness.

Our service embraces the philosophy of client-focused care, which recognises each person’s individual preferences, values, lifestyle choices and needs, and optimises wellbeing. This is facilitated by the development of ‘partnerships in care’ which include the resident, their representative, care providers, allied health providers and others who form part of a resident’s community.

The new Australian Government reforms to the aged care system mean that your income and assets will be taken into account in establishing the fees and payment you may be asked to pay. You may be asked to pay one or more of the following fees in residential care.

Basic daily feesThis covers living costs such as meals, power and laundry. For some people this is the only fee they are required to pay. The basic daily fee is set at 85% of the single person rate of the Age Pension.

Means tested care feeThis is an additional contribution towards the cost of care that some people may be required to pay. The Department of Human Services will work out if you are required to pay this fee based on an assessment of your income and assets, and will advise you of the amount.

Accommodation paymentsSome people will have their accommodation costs met in full or part by the Australian Government, while others will need to pay the accommodation price advertised. Accommodation payments can be made by a:• government guaranteed lump sum refundable deposit (RAD) on entry• pay-as-you-go daily payment (DAP) (including interest) or• combination of both.

A list of our accommodation prices can be viewed in our Accommodation Options Brochure on our website at www.careagedcare.com.au . An Accommodation Payment Estimator Calculator available on our website can also assist you when considering a combination of payment options.
