YOM KIPPUR

Although there will be continuous prayers and readings following the Late Morning Service, the Children's Service will be held at 1:45 P. M., the formal Afternoon Service will begin at 3:00 P. M. and Memorial _ __ . Services at 3:30 P. M. All who attend the Memorial Service must be in their seats before the Service begins. No one will be admitted during the Memorial Service. We call your attention to the procedure as follows:

The Memorial Service does not conclude the Yom Kippur Service. We urge all who come for the Memorial Service to remain for the Concluding Servi.ce and Benediction. Leaving after the Memorial Service detracts from the dignity and solemnity of the day and it is discourteous to the Rabbis and to those who want to remain for the complete Service. We trust our members will take this request kindly and follow the procedure.

Mrs. Max (Helen) Lester will play the Kol Nidrei at the Yom Kippur evening Services. Daniel Rose, son of Dr. and Mrs. Ernst Rose, will sound the Shofar at the clese of the Yom Kippur Services as he did during the Rosh Hashanah Service.

YOM KIPPUR TRADITIONS

FASTING: Reform Judaism never did abolish fasting on Yom Kippur. While leaving the decision to each individual, fasting is nonetheless encouraged and doing business as usual is discouraged.

AT HOME; There is NO Kiddush on Yom Kippur Eve. The meal itself is not part of the Holy Day. Candles ARE kindled at the conclusion of the dinner, when the wife initiates the Fast and the Holy Day by kindling the lights.
