Jesus lived a perfect life because we couldn’t. He offered himself as a sacrifice because He loves us. He was raised to life conquering death and the grave so that He could forgive us. All we are to do is receive the giſt of eternal life by placing our faith in Jesus, and show our faith by turning from sin. When we do that, God gives us a new spirit with new desires and the power to resist the Devil and his tempta- ons. If you would like to receive God’s giſt of eternal life, you can do so right now. “now is the day of salvaon” (2 Corinthians 6:2) Confess that you are a sinner deserving hell Believe with all your heart that Jesus can save you from hell Repent from sin (repent means to turn from sin, and to God) Ask Him to give you the power to overcome sin, and change you to the person he has called you to be. You can pray something like this… God, I confess that I have sinned against you and I deserve the penalty. I don’t want the penalty, and I believe that you paid it for me already by your sinless blood on the cross. Jesus, I pray that you send your Spirit to live inside of me to empower me to turn from my sins and change me into the person you want me to be. Remember, saying a prayer doesn’t save you; repentance from sins and faith in Christ does. Romans 10:17 says that faith comes from hear- ing the Word of God. The question you should really be asking your-self is “where will I spend eternity when I die?” (not IF you die, but WHEN). No one ex-pects that today is the day they’re going to die, however 150,000 people die each day.

Those same people will give an account before God for the life they lived. They wont be judged according to man’s standard but against the back drop of God's perfect law.

Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything, even if it’s small? Have you ever dishonored your parents? If you have, then that means you have personally broken at least 3 of God’s laws. Breaking God’s law is called sin, and God takes sin very seriously.

One of the problems that we face is the neglect of telling people the full council of God. For example: God is kind, loving, merciful and full of forgiveness. Those are God’s attributes that we have no problem sharing with others. However, God is also right-eous, holy, just, and hates sin. Without understand-ing these attributes, the others won’t make any sense. The Bad News Is… “The soul who sins is the one who will die…” (Ezekiel 18:20) Everyone has a body that is destined to die; howev-er when the bible (God’s word) refers to the soul dying, it implies Eternal Death which is described as eternal fire, torment, outer darkness, and a place of weeping and gnashing of teeth. Hell is a horrible place of eternal, conscious torment where those who sin against God’s righteous standard will spend eternity after they die. What Happens When We Die? “So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.” (Romans 14:12) “It is appointed for men to die once, and after this comes judgment” (Hebrews 9:27)

“How Will We Be Judged?” “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.” (Romans 3:11-12)… “For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)… “The wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23)… “...their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death” (Revelation 21:8) The bad news is that we are all born in sin, and the wages of sin is death - which according to the bible means eternity in hell. Without a proper under-standing of the bad news, the good news makes no sense. If you didn’t know you had a disease, it wouldn’t make sense to seek a cure. The spiritual disease you have is called sin, and the only cure is God’s grace. If God is a good judge, He has to make sure that the penalty of sin is paid. But There Is Hope! God the son revealed Himself by coming down to earth in the form of a man (Jesus) to live the perfect life that none of us could live, and paid the full price of our sins on His sinless body at the Cross. Jesus, who followed God’s righteous standard perfectly, stood

in our place as a sinner even though He was not. He took the punishment for our sins upon Himself. Jesus conquered death when God raised Him from the dead giving Him the right to legally dismiss our death sentence and save us from hell. In light of Jesus’ sacrifice, God requires 2 things from us... 1. Repent - this means to completely turn from everything God hates, and turn to God. Re-pentance is not just feeling bad and telling God that you are sorry; repentance demands a re-sponse. “If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expec-tation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.” (Hebrews 10:26-27) 2. Trust In Christ - Jesus alone is the reason we are saved. There was nothing we could have done to make up for the sins we committed against God. Our only chance is to put our trust and faith in a savior. “It is by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourself, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8
