Pastor’s Note A blessed Christmas to you all! In my final
note to you of 2020, I am filled with hope by
the faith that I have experienced in our litur-
gies, in our parking lot distributing food, in
your homes, in our school, in our hospitals, in
our Pavilion at 530AM singing mananitas, in
our lawn area celebrating Mass in the heat. I
give thanks to all you staff, ministers, teachers
who have carried this community these dark
days with the light of faith and the joy of heart.
Nobody imagined we would be celebrating
Christmas in this way. I thank Almighty God
for the Spirit that dwells in you. I do not have
an optimism for 2021 based on a vaccine, I
have a solid hope based on real people I am
privileged to serve. Feliz Navidad a todos
Uds. y prospero año en la gracia del Senor por
los manos de Maria, la Madre de Dios. Jesús,
Mary and Joseph, pray for us!

¡Una Navidad bendita a todos! En mi nota final para ustedes de
2020, estoy lleno de esperanza por la fe que he experimentado en
nuestras liturgias, en nuestro estacionamiento distribuyendo
comida, en sus hogares, en nuestra escuela, en nuestros
hospi-tales, en nuestro Pabellón a las 530 AM cantando. mananitas,
en nuestra área de césped celebrando la Misa en el calor. Doy
gracias a todo el personal, ministros y maestros que han llevado a
esta comu-nidad estos días oscuros con la luz de la fe y el go-zo
del corazón. Nadie imaginó que estaríamos cele-brando la Navidad de
esta manera. Doy gracias a Dios Todopoderoso por el Espíritu que
habita en ustedes. Mi optimismo para el 2021 no se basa en una
vacuna, sino en una esperanza sólida basada en personas reales a
las que tengo el privilegio de ser-vir. Feliz Navidad a todos Uds.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU We are so very grateful for all
who donated their time, talent and treasure to ensure that our
an-nual Christmas giveaway was such a huge success. Though the
format was different this year, we were able to shift gears and
have a drive-by event. Because of the tire-less effort and monetary
donations of pa-rishioners, St. Vincent de Paul volunteers, and
community members, we were able to provide gift cards for 81
families. They received grocery gift cards of $60.00 per family,
and $10.00 each gift cards for 288 children. What a blessing! You
are truly heroes!
GRACIAS, GRACIAS, GRACIAS Estamos muy agradecidos por todos los

tiempo, talento y tesoro para asegurar que nues-tro evento anual

FAITH FORMATION
When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a
dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and his mother and escape
to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search
for the child to kill him." Matthew 2:13 …When Jesus was born,
Herod was King. When he heard about the birth of Jesus, he thought
that Jesus had come to set up a kingdom here on earth and he was
not at all happy about that. He tried to find out where Jesus was
so that he could kill him. An angel appeared to Joseph in a dream
and warned him of the danger. "Get up! Flee to Egypt with the child
and his mother," the angel said. "Stay there until I tell you to
return, because Herod is going to search for the child to kill
him." That night Joseph left for Egypt with Jesus and Mary. They
stayed there until Herod died. When Herod died, God's angel spoke
to Joseph in a dream again. "Get up, take the child and his mother
and return to Israel. All who were out to kill the child are dead."
Isn't it wonderful that God sent angels to watch over his infant
son and protect him from harm? Well, God loves all of his children.
He loves you and me and he sends angels to watch over us. In Psalm
91, the Bible says: Evil can't get close to you, harm can't get
through the door. He ordered his angels to guard you wherever you
go. If you stumble, they'll catch you; their job is to keep you
from falling. (Psalm 91:11-12 - The Message) I'm glad that we have
God's angels watching over us as we walk – even in dangerous
places. Be thankful that God's angels are watching over you today!

Herodes va a buscar al niño para matarlo," le dijo. Esa noche José
saliá hacia Egipto con Jesús y Marí-a. Se quedaron allí hasta que
Herodes murió.
Cuando Herodes murió, el Ángel de Dios le hablá a José en otro
sueño. "Levántate, toma al niño y a su madre, y vete a la tierra de
Israel, que ya murieron los que amenazaban con qui-tarle la vida al
niño." ¿No es maravilloso saber que Dios enviá Ángeles a velar
sobre su Hijo y a protegerlo del mal? Bueno, Dios ama a todos sus
hijos. Te ama y me ama y mí enví-a Ángeles a velar sobre nosotros.
En el Salmos 91:11-12 la Biblia dice: El mal no puede acercarse a
ti el daño no puede atravesar la puerta. Ordenó a sus ángeles para
protegerte donde quiera que vayas. Si tropieza, lo atraparán; su
trabajo es evitar que te caigas. (Salmo 91: 11-12 - El Mensaje0
Me siento feliz de que tengamos a los Ángeles de Dios ve-lando
sobre nosotros mientras caminamos, incluso por lugares peligrosos.
¡Seamos agradecidos de que los Ángeles de Dios nos están velando en
el dí-a de hoy! (Cante) "Dí-a y noche Ángeles velándome, Señor.

FEAST OF FAITH: Processions
Why does the liturgy begin with a procession? It is not just a
practical matter of getting the ministers of the liturgy from the
sacristy to the sanctuary. The proces-sion is a powerful sign of
who we are as Christian peo-ple. We are not static, staying in one
place. We are go-ing somewhere. Our procession leads us to the
altar, sign of Christ’s presence in our midst. We move, we process,
because we recognize our need for what Christ is preparing for us
at that table. We go forward eagerly, because we are hungry for
that heavenly food. This procession is an orderly one: servers,
deacon, priest presider. Each is set apart by distinctive vesture:
albs for the altar servers, dalmatic for the deacon, chas-uble for
the priest. The procession is an image of the hierarchical
structure of the Church. On a deeper level it is an image of unity
in diversity. We are all on a jour-ney to the heavenly city, but
each of us is clothed with different gifts. We all receive the call
to service, but not in the same way. Only by coming together in all
our wonderful variety can we achieve the work of the

FIESTA DE LA FE : Los rituales
Los rituales son acciones que separamos de lo ordinario para
significar con ellas algo extraordinario, algo que va más allá de
nuestras propias emociones y palabras. De hecho, los rituales no se
explican, se experimentan y en esa experiencia se agotan las
explicaciones porque no son necesarias. En lu-gar de definirlos,
invitamos a las personas a que experimen-ten, no tanto lo que hemos
experimentado nosotros, sino lo que el ritual ha hecho en nosotros.
Los rituales son acciones sagradas que llevan en sí mismas todo lo
que las palabras no son capaces de transmitir. De hecho, la
experiencia del ritual nada tiene que ver con palabras, sino con
acciones concretas de participación mediante nuestros sentidos y
nuestra dispo-sición interior. Con esto no es posible afirmar que
el ritual es algo mágico, sino más bien un espacio de la vida en el
cual la gracia de Dios se hace presente, evidente y transparente;
nosotros nos disponemos a que esa gracia transforme nuestra vida
por completo, incluyendo nuestras emociones. La Euca-ristía es un
“ritual de rituales”. Ahí hay palabras y acciones, la palabra misma
es sagrada y las acciones van más allá de nuestras palabras. Este
ritual nos sumerge en el tiempo de Dios de una manera
