Face Book Event Created – Jennifer and James will be able to post updates and pictures throughout their engagement of the things they do to prepare for the big day.

Engagement Party:The parents of the Bride Dr. and Mrs. Jones will be hosting the Engagement Party at their home located in Elizabeth Manor Section of Portsmouth Virginia on the 9th of January 2016. The engagement party will be a casual gathering of family and friends who will also be invited to the wedding. Heavy horse 'devours and a full bar with wine and beer will be served.

Toasts from the parents and the Best Man and Maid of Honor will be made. A Photographer will be there to take pictures of the event and all events having to do with the wedding for the video.

Engagement Party (cont.):

Jennifer and James have decided that the engagement party would be a great place introduce their Wedding Party to each other and their families. Later the Bridal attendants and Grooms men can discuss bridal shower and bachelor party ideas. The Bridal attendants will also discuss and pick a time to get together for dress shopping. By this time the Bride should have an idea of what type of dresses she wants her Bridesmaids to wear.

Ceremony and Reception Venues:Jennifer and James have

chosen Jennifer’s family church Pinecrest Baptist Church located at 209 Felton Road in Portsmouth VA. They will be married by Reverend Tom Potter.

They have chosen The Ambassador Club of Portsmouth for their Wedding Reception. Jennifer’s Father is a member of the club.

They have chosen places where the atmosphere is

comfortable and familiar to them.

Attire/Accessories: The Bride and GroomJennifer will be

wearing a Maggie Sorretto Full length gown with a sweet heart neckline and elegant sandals with a medium heal. She will carry a yellow rose bouquet.

James will be wearing a classic Black Brook Brother’s Tuxedo with a black bow tie and a yellow boutonniere.

Jennifer will change into a yellow sun dress and yellow wedge sandals to leave the reception.

Attire/Accessories: The Wedding PartyThe Maid of

Honor an the Bridesmaids will be wearing long black dresses with sweetheart necklines and carrying yellow rose bouquets. Their hair will be up to show off the earrings the Bride gave them.

The Best Man, Groomsmen, Fathers of the Bride and Groom, will be wearing black tuxedos and bow ties with yellow boutonnieres.

The Flower Girl will be wearing a classic full length white dress and carrying a white basket with yellow rose petals.

The Ring Bearer will be wearing a black tux and bow tie and carrying a white pillow and he will also have w yellow rose boutonniere.

Bridal Shower:Jennifer’s Maid of Honor a couple of her Bridesmaids Will be giving her a Bridal Shower on the 16th of April. The Bridal shower will be continuing the Wedding theme of Black, Yellow and White elegance and it will be a champagne brunch with about 35 people. It will be located on the patio at one of the couple’s favorite restaurants Mario's. The guests will help their selves to a buffet of fresh fruit, salad, pasta and lasagna. Champagne, wine, tea, and sodas will also be served.. For dessert a local baker will be making a scrumptious lemon two tier cake and assorted cookies

Bridal Shower (cont.):The couple has chosen to register at Bed Bath and Beyond, Macy’s and Dillard's.

KC Event Planning will set-up a candy buffet and a few fun games will be played. Guests will be able to take candy home with them. They will also be a small box of Godiva chocolates at each place setting and they will also be able to take their champagne glass home with them.

The Grooms Lunch and Golf: While Jennifer and

the ladies are having their Bridal Shower, James, his Father, the Best Man and the Groomsmen will be treated to brunch and Golf at the Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club by his soon to be Father in-law.

Lunch will consist of a Caesar salad, and their choice of a crab cake, flounder, chicken breast or BLT sandwich with fries and ice cold beer.

Golf is James favorite sport and he plays every chance he gets and is a member of

the club.

The Ceremony Rehearsal:The Ceremony Rehearsal

will be held at the church. The Maid of Honor, the Best Man and all the Bridesmaids, Groomsmen, Flower Girl, and the Ring Barer will attend the Ceremony Rehearsal along with the parents of the Bride and Groom, the officiant and any other ceremony participants.

The Rehearsal Dinner:The Rehearsal Dinner will be held immediately after the ceremony rehearsal at the Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club and will be hosted by the Groom’s parents Mr. & Mrs. George Miller.

This will be a plated dinner. The guests will have their choice of Filet Mignon, Fried Flounder, Fried Shrimp or Grilled Chicken Breasts. Each meal will include steamed broccoli, a side salad and the Chef’s special rice. New York Style Cheese Cake with strawberries or blueberries on the side for dessert and soda, tea and coffee will be served along with a full service open bar throughout the evening.

Transportation/Arrival:The Jones and the Miller families have

rented Three limousines for the entire Weekend

The limos will be used at the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner for the Bride and Groom and their parents.

Reception:When the Guests arrive at the reception there will be a wait staff passing warm horse 'devours, or they can enjoy fruit and cheese from one of the food stations, and the bar will be open. The DJ will be playing soft rock as requested by Jennifer and James.

The Bride and Groom will be announced when they arrive along with their parents and the wedding party. The couple will mingle with guests and get settled at their table.

Wedding Budget Breakdown: Dr. Jones

Essay:The Miller Wedding The Miller Wedding will be a grand affair. Jennifer and James are so in love and they are ready to begin their lives together. They have been friends since they were in High School but never dated until their Junior year in college. On their first date James brought Jennifer a yellow rose. He new that was her favorite color and flower and from then on they were inseparable.

When she said yes they decided right away that they wanted a Wedding Planner because they are both very busy with their careers, and they wanted a locally owned business. On our first meeting it was very clear that they new what they wanted and where, that money was no object and they just needed someone to do the planning. I did offer other suggestions for venues and florist, etc. But they knew what they wanted. They had decided on a classy black, yellow and white theme with yellow roses for their flowers. They would have a Best Man, Maid of Honor, four Groomsmen and Bridesmaids and a Flower Girl and Ring Barer for the Wedding Party. Right away save the date post cards were mailed to family and close friends. A Wedding Website and a Facebook page were created. The next few weeks were very busy for the couple with picking the venue, getting guests lists together, picking a photographer and videographer, florists, caterers, and tons of other decisions. While James and Jennifer were making their decisions I was busy with Jennifer’s Mother Mrs. Jones getting invitations out and planning the Engagement Party.

Essay (cont.):The engagement party will be family and close

friends and some people who work with Jennifer and James. This will be a semi-formal event . Heavy horse 'devours and a full bar with wine and beer will be served. Jennifer and James have decided that this is where they will ask the people they want in their wedding party to do the honors. They will also introduce them to all their family and friends who do not know them. The photographer and videographer will be there to document the event.

After the engagement party the couple, their families and the Wedding party will start the search for their dresses and tuxedos. Jennifer has chosen a couple of local bridal shops to start . Along with her Maid of Honor, Bridesmaids, Mother and soon to be Mother-in law in tow they tried all three shops and eventually Jennifer chose the very first dress she tried on. They were also able to pick out the dresses for all the girls in the wedding party. The following weekend Jennifer went to a local tuxedo rental shop with the Best Man, their Groomsmen, and the two Fathers to rent the tuxedos. James was not renting but buying his and they were also able to take care of that.

The venue was very easy, Jennifer always new she would get married in the church she grew up in and that the reception would be at her dad’s club, The Ambassador Club of Portsmouth. Normally this venue would be 2500.00 to rent, but because Jennifer’s Father is a member they only have to pay 250.00 and

they will also be able to get in the day and night before for decorating.

Essay (cont.):The next thing in order was to pick the cake and

food. Jennifer and James had recently attended a friends wedding and really enjoyed the cake, so they wanted to use that bakery. We did some research and finally found a caterer that had everything they wanted and the china and linens are also included.

Dr. Jones will purchase the liquor license and arrange for the security at the club for the reception. A long time friend of the couple will be the DJ and has promised to play all their favorite music.

The Maid of Honor and the Bridesmaids will be giving Jennifer a bridal shower. Her Father of course will be paying. The shower will be at one of the couples favorite restaurants Mario's. It will be a champagne brunch. While the girls are enjoying the shower the guys will be having a golf and lunch outing that Dr. Jones will be throwing for his new son in-law.

The ceremony rehearsal will be at the church and then everyone will be chauffeured to the Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club for a dinner hosted by the Groom’s parents.

The wedding day will be busy. The girls will meet at the Jones residence for hair, make-up, a lunch hosted by Mrs. Jones and a photo shoot before the limousine arrives to take them to the church. The guys will meet later in the day at the Miller’s along with the officiant where they will get dressed and have a photo shoot before one of the limousines takes the Groom, Best Man, officiant, and his Mother and Father to the church.

Essay (cont.):After the ceremony the guests will leave and go

to the Ambassador Club where they will enjoy horse 'devours and drinks while the Wedding party and the family take photos at the church. Upon arrival all the attendants , parents, and the Bride and Groom will be introduced. The Bride and Groom will mingle for a little while with the guests and find their table and get settled. At 8:00 pm a buffet style dinner will be served. After the Bride and Groom , the wedding party, and their families go through the line the rest of the guests will start to eat.

While the guests are finishing up dinner the first dances, and all formalities will start to take place. Upon completion of dinner and formalities the Bride and Groom will cut the cake and the dancing will begin. At 11:00 pm the Bride and Groom will go change and then leave where they will check-in at the Renaissance Hotel in a suite to begin their married life.

The following Monday James will take his wife on a surprise honeymoon that he has not told anyone about so that they are sure to have all the privacy they deserve.

Jennifer and James are a very sweet couple. It has been a pleasure working with them and I wish they all the happiness in the world.
