It has been more than a month since Geog camp, but thememories
are still fresh in my mind. I can still rememberclearly what
exactly happened during the best two daysof my academically
challenging semester: the cheer, theperformances, the tension and
of course, the laughter. Inthis magazine, we reminisce what
happened during theGeog camp and how it af fected us up to now.
Before this semester ends, I would like to thank my Geog1
classmates, campers and non-campers alike, for a reallyfun,
educational and interesting semester. Thank you forthe friendship,
and I hope that we get to cherish it eventhough were not classmates
anymore.
To the freshies, congratulat ions on surviv ing your f ir st
semester in UP! Always do your best, and do it out ofpassion,
not for the uno.
To regular students like myself, quoting Dory from Find-ing
Nemo,just keep sw imming.
To Sir Emman, thank you for being a considerate,thoughtful and
kwela teacher. I hope you also enjoyedthis sem even though we were
not that part icipat ive.

Hey you! Yes, Im talking to you. If youre reading this mag, then
it means that youre taking u
Geog 1 as a GE. Hmmm Maybe I was overgeneralizing a bit on that
part. Lets revise tha
one. If youre a camper, then youll be able to relate to the
things that Im going to say later in
this article. If youre not, then youd missed half of your life.
Just a joke. Anyway, the All Acces
camp wasnt just an ordinary camp. Besides from coming across
challenges and remarkable ex
periences, youll be bringing with you a whole bunch of knowledge
not only in the field of Geog
raphy, but also similar things in our daily lives. Here is a
list of ten things that this feline ex
plorer had learned from the Geography Camp:
1. Time management is a big factor for success. Allot tasks with
enough time. It gets crapp
when you cram.
2. Coordinate with the people around you when accomplishing an
assignment. Every idethat youll contribute is a puzzle piece that
will form into a beautiful picture when fin
ished.
3. Create a plan in order to have a strategic flow of
activities. Its easier to perform respons
bilities with a blueprint laid beforehand.
4. Dont get too serious. Having a lot of notions running in your
head is already a heavy load
Getting your emotions mixed with these stuffs is burdensome. In
short, its very stressful.
5. Get familiar with the places in your country. Its fun to
venture with unfamiliar spaces an
savor the moment of seeing a picturesque.
6. Never underestimate the power of GPS. You say that its a
device used by experts on th
field. Well, think again. This is very useful especially when
youre on the road.
7. A compass isnt a plaything. When I was a kid, I thought that
all compasses were like thones that I saw hanging on bags. I
remember playing with its needle by making it spin
lot of times. After the Geog camp, my childhood was ruined. It
was more than that. Wan
to know more on how to use a compass? Google it.
8. Getting confused with North, South, East, West, Up, Down,
Left and Right is a big NO
NO. Its pretty hard to not know these directions because it will
have a huge impact o
your sense of direction. Hence, youll end up getting lost.
9. If things arent working well, breathe in, breathe out, and
then think! After doing these
everything will go smoother.
10. Once youve become close to someone, youll get clingy. The
fun that youve shared wit
everyone, thats something one cant easily forget. You wont
notice that you already havthis unbreakable bond.
There are still a lot of lessons that I might have realized but
I just forgot since things get jum-
bled in my mind. Im sorry if you were depressed with the
contents of this one because you were
expecting academic tips. Remember that not everything in this
world will revolve inside the
classroom. Theres a lot of things to learn outside. Try to
explore and enjoy anything and every-
thing that Geography encompasses.
