To arrange coaching classes to developthe aptitude soft skills of thestudents. V.V.Vanniaperumal PengalKallori Pazhaiya Manaviyar Sangamarranged coaching classes for TNPSCGroup IV Examination.

The job aspirants attended the coachingclasses for TNPSC and other CompetitiveExaminations and were trained onvarious topics by placement cell &Study Circle. Nearly 413 students wererecruited in various companies.

To conduct Internal, External Audit &AAA.

Audits helped to enrich the activitiesof the institution and to maintain therecords systematically.

To enhance the Quality of Out- ReachProgrammes

MIS facilitates thecollection and storage of huge volumeof data and provides ease ofmaintenance and report generation.Maintenance of College accounts, Incomeand Expenditure details, Employee Pay,Provident Fund and Income Tax detailsof staff are carried out through the

software Accounting Soft and students’admission is automated through CollegeSoft. The software Students DatabaseSystem has been installed for storingand retrieving the student informationas and when needed in the requiredformat. Bill Desk maintains the detailsof Admission fees, Examination fees andHostel fees. The office of Controllerof Examinations is equipped with VVVCExam Master to automate thefunctionalities of the CoE office andto generate and print the Hall Tickets,Mark Statements and various analyticalreports. Online Examination software isdesigned to conduct Online Objectivetype examination for the final yearstudents as part of their curriculumand also to train the PG students toappear for SET/NET exams. The selectionof NME Courses for both UG and PG arecarried out with NME SelectionSoftware. A specially designed SoftwareDigiElection Soft is used to conductthe digital polling of students’ UnionCabinet Election. The activities oflibrary like Automation ofBibliographic Record, Report GenerationCirculation, and Digitization ofInstitution Repository: College HandBooks, Magazines and Question Papers,Web OPAC, Remote Access are automatedusing freeware and implemented asIntegrated Library Management System.

The institution has a practice of collecting feedback on curriculum fromStudents, Teachers (External examiners and the faculty members of the Board ofStudies), Employers, Alumni and Parents through questionnaire. The analysis ofthe feedback is done systematically and the appropriate actions were takenbased on the analysis and suggestion provided. Students’ Feedback: Students’Feedback on curriculum revealed that the number of Conferences/ Seminars/Workshops/ Guest Lectures were organized effectively to support the curricula.ICT Tools could be used for newly introduced courses to support the teaching

and learning. More number of skill enhancement courses need to be introduced.Action Taken: The teachers resolved to use ICT tools to enhance their teaching.The outgoing students were encouraged to pursue online courses (Swayam –NPTEL). e – lectures were uploaded in the local server for the slow learners.The students were instructed to submit their Assignments, Quizzes and Seminarsthrough Google Classrooms to develop various skills among the students. Morenumber of skill enhancement courses were introduced and passed through AcademicCouncil Meeting. Teachers’ Feedback: External examiners and the Faculty membersof the Board of Studies suggested that the courses and the contents were framedto satisfy the needs of the current scenario. The contents of the courses couldprovide more scope to test the technical and analytical skills of the students.More focus could be given to research attitude in the curriculum of PG courses.Action Taken: The contents of the Practical courses are slightly modified toacquire more practical knowledge of the theoretical concepts. A few courseswere introduced to develop the Research ambience among the students. AlumnaeFeedback: Feedback of the Alumni reported that a more practical approach couldbe adopted to enhance the quality of curriculum and insisted the need ofintroducing more courses in the curriculum to enhance Entrepreneur skills ofthe students. Action Taken: The curriculum has been framed in a way to use ICTthat aids understanding theoretical concepts practically. New courses in eachprogramme were introduced to develop Employability and Entrepreneurship skillsof the students. Parents’ Feedback: Parents’ Feedback on curriculum stated thatthe curricula of all programmes were well structured. The content of thecourses must focus more on employability skills and communication skills of thestudents. Syllabi could be designed to make students aware of the industrialenvironment. Action Taken: A few courses were introduced to promoteEmployability skills and Entrepreneurship skills among the students. To provideindustrial exposure to the students, industrial visits, Internship courses andsigning of MOUs were incorporated in the curriculum. Employers’ Feedback: Thefeedback given by the employers on curriculum made clear that the curriculumshould be effectively framed to induce the innovative thinking among students.Theory and practical courses should facilitate the students to use modernequipment and ICT Tools. Action Taken: To develop the innovative thinking ofthe students, Projects has been introduced in the curriculum. Some Practicalcourses were introduced with slight modifications to make the students acquireknowledge about the modern techniques.

2.3.2 – Students mentoring system available in the institution? Give details. (maximum 500 words)

Yes. Our college has a well organised Students Mentoring System that acts as an individualized form ofcounseling and guidance to students. The Mentoring System promises to foster a strong rapport between the

students and teachers at a personal level. Each faculty member is a member of a group of 25 to 30 students andmaintains a record for each mentee with her personal as well as academic particulars. The mentor meets thegroup informally outside the class hours at least twice a month and discusses matters freely via a two –way

communication process. The students are encouraged to seek guidance on academic, general or psychologicalissues. In case of academic irregularities or negative behaviours, the parents of the concerned students areapprised personally and necessary remedial measures are taken. 4.4.2 – Procedures and policies for maintaining and utilizing physical, academic and support facilities - laboratory,library, sports complex, computers, classrooms etc. (maximum 500 words) (information to be available ininstitutional Website)

The institution follows systematic procedures for maintaining and utilizingPhysical, Academic and support facilities. Special initiatives are undertaken

to improve the Physical ambience. In addition to regular recruitment, thecollege has employed additional persons to look after the maintenance andrepair work of instruments, equipment and furniture as and when needed.

Library: The general library renders a user friendly service. It functions from8.45 am to 5.15 pm on all working days and on Sundays from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm(except on holidays). Students are strictly forbidden from sublending librarybooks. In case of any loss of a book, 3 times the cost of the book will be

collected from the borrower of the book. The worn out rare books garnered fromthe general library and department libraries are given for binding annually.Laboratories: Laboratories are equipped with sufficient number of required

experimental setups. The Laboratory equipment and instruments are calibrated bythe technical Laboratory Assistants under the supervision of the Teaching

Faculty. Students are instructed to handle the equipment with care under the

supervision of staff and laboratory assistants. The availability of FISTLaboratories invigorates and amplifies the prevalence of scientific and

technical ambience. Playground: Playground is properly utilized to conductcoaching and selection camps and organize intercollegiate tournaments and

friendly matches. A gallery in the playground promotes the sportive interest ofboth the players and nonplayers. Recreational hall with indoor games are

utilized by the inmates. Playground is well maintained and weeds are removedperiodically with the help of the gardeners. The best sports goods are

purchased in the beginning of every academic year. Damaged goods are auctionedregularly. Computers: Computers with Internet Browsing facility is provided toall departments to access Online teaching and learning resources. Computers inlaboratories are used to conduct Online Examinations and Aptitude Tests. Theinstitution has an Instrumentation Maintenance Facility Centre (IMF) with atechnician who installs and maintains all computers, scanners and printers.Campus: Inspection of electrical work and renewal of transport license are

processed systematically. To overcome the problem of electrical load shedding,High Tension (HT) transformer and generators have been installed in the collegepremises to provide uninterrupted power supply. Fire extinguishers have been

kept for use in all Buildings, Laboratories, Offices and Library. In the sevenSeminar Halls with LCD projector facility, the college organizes Seminars,Conferences and Intercollegiate competitions. To maintain pollution – free

campus, Liquid and Solid wastes are segregated and disposed carefully. An ecofriendly Sanitary Napkin Incinerator helps to destroy the napkins in hygienicway. RO plant, standby generator, canteen, ATM, Bank Extension Counter, DTP

center, Gymnasium, Meditation Hall, Central store, Buses and Vans forconveyance, 24x7 Medical care, Parking area, Visitors’ Hall and Security systemare the other amenities available. The entire campus has been maintained clean

and green and the existing buildings have been renovated and repairedperiodically.

5.3.2 – Activity of Student Council & representation of students on academic & administrative bodies/committees ofthe institution (maximum 500 words)

The college students’ Union cabinet serves as a strong gangplank thatinvigorates the involvement of students in the activities of the college. Itpromises a perfect training ground for students to develop their leadership

skills by taking charge as Ministers of Health, Education, Discipline,Environment and PRO. The student members of college students’ union cabinet who

are integrally elected through online voting system are well groomed toeffectively organize programmes and special meetings. Students take initiativesto celebrate National festivals like Independence Day, Republic Day and GandhiJeyanthi. They enthusiastically and unitedly celebrate festivals fostering‘Communal Harmony’ like ‘Thai Pongal’. They display equal enthusiasm incelebrating ‘International Yoga Day’, ‘Teachers’ Day’ and ‘International

Women’s Day’. Students’ Union Cabinet helps in interlinking the activities ofvarious service forums, support forums and associations. It acts as a bridge totake forward the suggestions and grievances of students to the administrativebodies, and intimate and convey significant matters and events to the students.Students play active role in the Hostel Cabinet,Board of Studies, Association

activities, Service Forums such as NSS, Social Service League, YRC, RRC,Extension Service and Support Forums such as Youth Welfare organization,

Alumnae Association, Student Faculty Research Forum, Planning Forum, Placementand Career Guidance Cell, Consumer Forum, Counselling Forum, Women EmpowermentCell, Grievance Redressal Cell, Communal Harmony Cell, Eco Club, Green Club andEarn While you Learn Scheme. IQAC also deputes students as executive members.

5.4.1 – Whether the institution has registered Alumni Association?

Yes. The Alumni Association has been registered under the Tamilnadu SocietiesRegistration Act, 1975 in the name of V.V. Vanniaperumal Pengal KallooriPazhaya Maanaviyar Sangam on the 14th day of November, 2017 with theRegistration Number 178/2017. The Alumnae Association aims to foster a spiritof loyalty amidst the old students towards their alma mater. It strengthens thebond between alumni, the community and the parent institution. It serves as adoorway to know about the services and upcoming programmes of the institution.It actively functions to create and establish Alumni endowments for grantingscholarship to the deserving poor students showing high proficiency in theirstudies. Every year, Alumni Day celebration is conducted on the fourth Saturdayof December for the convenience of the alumnae. Cultural programmes areorganized on the occasion of Alumnae Day Celebration. The retiring Teaching andNon teaching Faculty members who are alumnae of the college are duly honouredby hosting special Felicitation Party for them.. Candle lighting ceremony forthe final year students is organised at the end of the academic year. Studentspay an annual subscription of Rs.100. She is eligible to become a Life Memberby paying an amount of Rs.1000. Every year, Annual general body meeting is heldin which the Executive committee, discusses the audited statement of accountsand deliberates the annual report of the Association to consider for any

amendment. V.V. Vanniaperumal Pengal Kalloori Pazhaya Maanaviyar Sangam alsoarranges coaching classes for TNPSC Group IV examinations. It also carries outTree Plantation Programmes to create a green environment. Blood Donation campsare also arranged to instill the spirit of service mindedness among alumnae.Online membership registration and Feedback system is available which enablesto link and unite the alumnae present elsewhere on the globe.

Board meetings were conducted on 20.04.2018, 04.07.2018, 03.09.2018,12.12.2018, 27.03.2019 to pass various resolutions regarding the activities ofour Sangam. Competitive exam coaching classes were conducted for the final year

UG and PG students during February 2019. Second annual general meeting wasconducted on 28.09.2018 On 21.12.2018, 21 saplings were planted in

Chinnamoopanpatti village nearby Virdhunagar. On 10.01.2019, Blood Donationcamp was organized in which 51 students donated blood. On 21.12.2019, Old

Students Day was celebrated in our college premises. Candle Lighting Ceremonyfor the final year students was held on 11.04.2019. On 22.04.2019, Felicitationparty to the retiring Teaching and Non teaching staff members of the college

was conducted.

6.1 – Institutional Vision and Leadership

The mechanism for decentralization and participative management autonomouslyallow the participants in various functions to work towards the decentralizedgovernance system. College Development Activities:The institution endorses

‘Participative Management’ by convening regular meetings amidst the Managementmembers, and the Principal. The Principal summons the Head of the Departmentsfor ‘Staff Council Meeting’ regularly to discuss, formulate and decide the

strategic policies and plans pertaining to the activities of variousfunctionaries of the college. Each department functions as a separate subunitin deciding and implementing studentcentric programmes and activities. They areencouraged to express their constructive suggestions to the council. The Headsof the departments pass on all the matters discussed at the ‘Staff Council

Meeting’ to the faculty team thereby leading to the smooth functioning of thecollege. The faculty members are assigned with duties in various curricular,

cocurricular and extracurricular responsibilities such as Deans, Heads,Coordinators and Conveners for various committees or cells which includesQuality Assurance, Academics, Research and Development, Staff and StudentWelfare, Training and Placement, Extension activities, Campus Management,Association , Career Guidance, Consultancy, Fine Arts, Sports and Games,

Entrepreneurship, Examination and Evaluation, counseling, Accounts and LibraryServices. Similarly, the students also hold roles and responsibilities as

Office Bearers of College Student Union Cabinet, cocurricular andextracurricular and Service Forums, Associations and also Class

Representatives.They voiceforth their suggestions to the faculty through wardmeetings and also to the Principal and Management during various interactions.Curriculum Designing :The designing of Curriculum exposes the decentralizationand participative management. The Deans of the curriculum prepare the programme

structure for all programmes. The faculty members prepare the scheme and coursecontent as per the given structure. The prepared syllabus is then placed in the

Academic Council for the approval. Every year the institution collects thefeedback on curriculum from Students, Teachers, Alumni, Parents and Employers.The suggestions of the stakeholders are also incorporated when designing a new

curriculum.

for the self financing faculty membersundergoing Minor Research Project andNPTEL courses. • One month sabbatical

leave is sanctioned for the selffinancing staff to complete their Ph.D.

research spirit among the students andfaculty by providing a platform to

present their research articles. • Thestaff members are encouraged to publishstandard articles in Scopus indexed and

publish the proceedings of theconference and books authored by

faculty members. Research article ofthe faculty members of the parent

institution are published at free ofcost in International MultidisciplinaryInnovative Research Journal published

by the institution.

Teaching and Learning • Various Teaching Techniques andInstructional materials are used to

fine tune the learning process.Lecturemethod along with assignment and

seminars is widely used by the facultyin all the departments. Student centric

teaching and learning methods areadopted. However these are augmented byother innovative teaching – learningmethods that are suitable for the

specific subjects. For effective andinteractive teaching LCD projector, OHPand Smart Board are used. • A few classrooms are enabled with ICT Provisions.Well – equipped laboratories promotepractical knowledge of the student. •Post Graduate students are given hands

on experience and exposed to workculture and work ethics in Industry/

Institution through Internships duringsecond and fourth semester. M.Phil

students undertake a project as a partof their curriculum. • The DigitalLibrary enables students to havegreater learning experience aptly

supported by inputs from teachers. •119 students in odd semester and 64students in even semester appeared inSwayam – NPTEL Online Courses in the

academic year 2018`19.

Examination and Evaluation • Answer scripts of Ability EnhancementCourses like Value Education EVS arevalued by the Course teachers of the

other departments who have handled theCourse in their department to assessthe understanding capacity and the

quality of the Students. •International Improvement Test Schemefor the outgone Students to clear thearrear by taking one internal test,Assignment and Quiz along with the

Students of the Current academic yearto improve their internal marks and

complete their programmes. •AntiPlagiarism Certificate is to be

produced by the M.Phil Scholars at thetime of the submission of their

dissertation. Pre vivavoce examinationfor M.Phil Scholars is made compulsory.

One paper presentation in othercolleges is made mandatory for the

completion of their programme.

Curriculum Development Restructuring of curriculum developmentis systematically implemented once inthree years after a careful review ofthe curriculum in practice. The Board

of studies meeting is convenedformally. Subject experts from other

Colleges, University nominee,Industrialist and meritorious alumnaegive their critical opinions on theacademic programs of our college interms of areas of strength, weaknessand suggestions for improvement. More

Value added courses are introduced. . •Quality of the curriculum is ensured byIQAC through the relevant actions takenon the basis of periodical analysis ofthe feedback on curriculum from thestudents. • Library hours for allclasses are incorporated within the

class hours.

Library, ICT and PhysicalInfrastructure / Instrumentation

• Library has been updated immenselywith recent books, journals, magazinesand eresources. • It is a member ofDELNET, UGC NLIST, AMAZON, NDL andSWAYAM. • It is completely automated

with barcoding of all books andreference materials. • OPAC system is

followed in the library. Eachdepartment has a library with valuablebooks. • ICT Tools are used in teachinglearning process. LCD Projectors are

installed in all the seminar halls andin some classrooms. • Google classroomhas been implemented. Browsing facility

is provided to all students in theCommon Laboratory after the college

hours. • Circulars and otherinformation are sent through intranet.• All computer systems are providedwith internet facilities. • The speedof the internet has been reworked. •Online voting, Feedback and Quiz are

done effectively using the ICT Tools. •Biometric system is practiced to

Human Resource Management • The College has specific policies andprocesses for Human Resource

Management. • In case of recruitment ofregular vacancy, advertisements arepublished in daily newspapers in the

month of May and the selection has beencarried out as per UGC regulations. •To upgrade the standards of academic

environment, the teaching faculties areencouraged to participate in variousorientation, Refresher and Short termCourses. • Group Medical Insurance and

PF are made compulsory among thefaculty members as a welfare practice.

• Feedback has been collected andanalyzed.

Industry Interaction / Collaboration • Industrialist is nominated as memberin Board of Studies of each department.

Projects and Internship courses areincorporated in the curriculum. Field

visits / Industrial visits are arrangedto make the students acquire practical

knowledge. • Memorandum ofunderstanding (MoUs) are signed with

the industries, companies andorganization to support and develop thequality of the Institution. • Placement

Cell of the college has been at theforefront in setting up connections

Student Admission and Support College Soft, implemented since 2014was developed by Mr.N.Chellappan,

Software Consultant, Virudhunagar. Itis used in the admission process

through which students’ data related toadmission can be retrieved. Daily

attendances of the students are sentthrough this software. Student Database

System was developed byDr.Mrs.G.Karthigai Lakshmi and Mrs.

R.Umaselvi, faculties of ourinstitution through which student

profile database is created to generateregister numbers, username and passwordfor creating institution mail ID forindividual student. NME Selection

Software was developed by the facultymembers of the Department of ComputerScience and Computer Applications (PG)

during the year 2018 2019 for theselection of NonMajor Elective paper bythe students. DigiElection Software wasdeveloped by Mr.N.Chellappan, SoftwareConsultant, Virudhunagar to conductdigital polling of students’ Union

Cabinet Election. Feedback system wasdeveloped by Mrs.S.Veni, faculty of ourinstitution during the year 2018 2019.The feedback about the department staffmembers and Head of the Department are

collected and analysis reports aregenerated with the software along with

the Google forms.

Finance and Accounts Accounting soft was developed by Mr.Sakthivel, Virudhunagar for finance andaccount and was implemented from the

year 2006 2007. It is used to maintainvarious accounts like staff salary, UGC

funds, scholarships, common funds,FIST,Exam fees Accounts and othernonsalary accounts. Web Access wasnewly developed by Demate Solutions,

Virudhunagar to maintain managing BoardAccounts since April 2019.

Administration Intranet Portal was developed byMr.P.Shiva Sankar, Getmore Solutions

Pvt. Ltd., Virudhunagar and implementedfrom the year 2013 2014.All the

circulars, internal question papers,internal marks are uploaded through

Intranet Portal. Bill Desk Software formaintaining admission fees, examination

fees and hostel fees.

Planning and Development E Governance is sufficiently encouragedamong the administrative staff in the

college for effective communication andplanning. Biometric system isimplemented for monitoring the

attendance of teaching and supportstaff. CCTV surveillance cameras areinstalled in various placeswithin thecampus to monitor the activities.

Whatsapp group (VVVC ADMIN STAFF) iscreated to share information andnotification from UGC and State

Government among principal and otherAdministrative members.

Examination VVVC Exam Master Software was developedby Mrs. M.Priyavani and

Mrs.G.Chandraprabha, faculties of ourinstitution and implemented since 2016.

The software is updated to executeexamination works like generation andphoto printed Hall Tickets, generationand printing of Mark Statements, typing

and printing of question papers. OnlineExamination Software was developed byDr. Mrs. G.Karthigai Lakshmi, Head

Associate Professor of Computer Scienceto conduct online objective type examand also to train the students for

NET/SET exams. Notification of SemesterExamination Timetable, Examination

results and Date of Supplementary Exam,Revaluation are published in the

college website.

The institution has a mechanism to conduct Internal and External financialaudit regularly. The Internal financial audit is a continuous process to verifythe entire income and expenditure of the institution every year. A qualifiedinternal auditor, Thiru S.P.N.Periyasamy B.Com.,F.C.A, has been appointed to

check and verify the details of amount generated and spent during the financialyear. Members from Joint Directorate of Higher Education conduct an externalaudit. As the institution maintains a clear record, there has been no majorerrors found. If any Minor errors pointed out by the external audit team, theerrors are immediately rectified. Precautionary steps are undertaken to avoid

the re occurrence of such errors in future.

Parents are the major stakeholders in higher education. The Parent Teachermeeting is conducted twice every year. The first Parents Teachers meeting was

7.1.2 – Environmental Consciousness and Sustainability/Alternate Energy initiatives such as:

Percentage of power requirement of the University met by the renewable energy sources

The institution adopts environmental friendly practices and takes necessaryaction to promote interest and awareness among the students to keep the campusclean and green. The institution has taken initiatives to make the campus ecofriendly by following various measures like Energy Conservation, Rain WaterHarvesting, Renewable Energy and saving and reducing electricity by using LEDbulbs. Every department is given guidelines regarding minimum usage of paperand created awareness to ban the usage of plastic cups and polythene bags inthe College premises. With the objective of creating awareness about theecological damage caused particularly by the plastic bags, an awareness

programmes are arranged in collaboration with Social Welfare Organizations. Theeco club and green club inculcate the habit of planting the saplings to make

the environment green that enrich the splendour of the College. The institutionalong with Idhayam – G collected the poly bags to create awareness and ban theusage of poly bags among the students. Students were initiated to prepare eco

friendly paper bags as a part of activities in the Science Forum.
