After You Import a Photo

•When you import a photo into Adobe Photoshop, the program will often display the photo at a default resolution.

•Generally it displays the photo at a resolution of 72

What is Resolution?

•Resolution is the fineness of detail in an image and is represented as ppi.

•PPI is Pixels Per Inch

•The higher the resolution the more pixels per inch there will be resulting in a bigger printout you could print.

What do we want in Photoshop?

•We need to set the Resolution to 300 instead of 72

•Make sure to always do this on every photo you work on to produce the best quality print for the yearbook.

Photoshop Steps

•Select the Image tab on the menu bar

•Go to image size – select it

•Uncheck Resample image

•Set resolution to 300

•Save
