2015 Cincinnati PRSA Year-End Report Presented to Cincinnati PRSA Members
December 2015
OUR GOALS
In 2015, we wanted Cincinnati PRSA to be the go-to source
and premier group for PR pros in Cincinnati, continuing to
focus on bringing value to members.
In addition, we wanted to:

ELEVATE KNOWLEDGE
BLOG & NEWSLETTER
• Revived the newsletter to deliver news
and information to members’ inboxes
once a month
• Newsletter had more than 2,000 views
with an open rate around 27%
• A team of eight bloggers plus guest
bloggers regularly delivered content to
members
DIGITAL
Maintained a robust website
• Nearly 50,000 page views
• 11,564 unique visitors
• Average 1,900 visits per month
Connected through social media
• Increased Facebook followers by 25%
• Twitter followers grew to 3,377
PROGRAMMING
• First ever programming
committee
• Two sold out events
• Three national speakers
• 690 attendees at 13 events
(includes Media Day and
Blacksmiths)
NEW PROFESSIONALS
• Held 12 events over the year
including education sessions,
networking mixers and PRSSA
outreach events
• Brought in Matt Prince from Taco
Bell for the September event
• Collaborated with AMA young
pros group for a networking event
APR
• Offered prep class with six
participants and seven presenters
• Held a readiness review Saturday
in November
• Awarded Julia Mace the APR
designation

• Switched location to Anderson
Pavilion at Smale Park
• More than 100 attendees
• 11 sponsors
• Keynote from Aaron McLear,
press secretary for Governor

• Grew membership to 215
• Offered a members-only, insider
look at WCPO.com
• Surveyed all members, showing
improvements from 2011
• Updated chapter bylaws to more
accurately reflect operations and
correspond to best practices of
other chapters (More about this in January 2016!)

77% strongly agree or agree that PRSA is

Cincinnati PRSA
PRSSA OUTREACH
• Actively worked to engage with
local PRSSA chapters
• Provided panels on campus for
PRSSA events at Miami University,
Xavier and University of Cincinnati
• Spoke to more than 200 students
• Worked with students on
diversity/community service
initiative
DIVERSITY & COMMUNITY SERVICE
• Outreach to Shroder High School
• Visits to Shroder in spring and fall
with PRSSA students and local
professionals
• Shroder students visited UC to
participate in a campaign class
and take a campus tour

MEMBER INVOLVEMENT
• Added three new committees this year
for a total of eight active committees
• Increased to approximately 25% of
members involved in leadership and
volunteer roles
• Sent call to members for interest in
serving in leadership roles for 2016
• Hosted new member meet and greet
and coffee talks throughout the city
BLACKSMITH AWARDS
• Shifted location to Bell Event Center
• 133 entries
• 170 attendees at the event
• 14 sponsors
• Reciprocal judging with Rochester,
New York

• Highest honor the Cincinnati PRSA chapter
can bestow upon a member to recognize
service to the chapter, community, society and
profession
