WRITING - Fan Fiction CompetitionHave you ever read a book and wondered how you might fit into it? Or had questions about a character or an event that have been left unanswered? Or simply thought there was another story that could be told within that writer’s world? Then fan fiction just might be the thing for you.

Write an approximately 500-word fan-fiction short story that sits within an existing book of your choice1. Include the title of the original book and author and then your own chapter/ book title as the
heading.2. Make sure that you use A COASTMAP devices to ensure that your version of the story world is
like the writers.3. Upload your submission to the correct Week 5 folder on Showbie.

On Friday 8 May 2020 Britain will be commemorating the 75th anniversary of VE Day when the guns fell silent at the end of war in Europe. Due to the coronavirus restrictions most VE Day 75 events and street parties have had to be cancelled or postponed but we still want you to be able to mark the occasion, share your pride in our country and honour the men and women of WW2.
Choose ONE of the following Tasks:
1. Make your own PAPER or fabric special VE Day 75 ‘Great British Bunting’ to display in your window at home. See Showbie for further instructions and images to inspire you. Remember to upload a photograph of your bunting and a photograph of it hanging in your window.
A nurse has launched an appeal for volunteers to create matching fabric hearts for patients and their relatives during the coronavirus pandemic.
2. Make a pair of hearts sized 5cm to 10cm. Please then post them or drop off to school where Mrs Petri will collect them to distribute to the local hospitals. See Showbie for further instructions and video. Remember to upload a photograph of your hearts.
3. On Showbie there is also the Think Harder answer sheets for Banksy from last week, so that you can self assess your work

North Korea across the border and into either China or South Korea.
• Write a journal article about your perilous journey.• What have you escaped from? What was North Korea like?
Why did you escape? Which country do you want to endup in and why? Are you scared? Were you caught? Howdid you evade capture?
