Each Subject has a section in your Knowledge Organiser, you are required to study the knowledge organiser as part of your homework, taking notes in your jotter.
This may not be the only homework you get set for some subjects.
Your subject teachers will test you on your Knowledge Organiser on a regular basis, if you do not score above half you will receive a C4 other for non completion of homework.
You must bring your Knowledge Organiser and Jotter to school everyday and show it on the blue line. If you don’t you will receive a C4 other.
If you lose or damage your Knowledge Organiser or jotter you will be required to buy a new one costing £1 per item lost or damaged.
Knowledge Organisers will be collected in and a new one given out each half term. If they are not suitable for reuse you will have to buy a new one.

This is the function or instruction. It tells the
computer what it needs to do to the cells, in this
case the word sum means add together.

A spreadsheet, in its basic form,
is like a calculate. You can use it
to work out the answers to
calculations but it can also keep
track of finances, be used to
predict outcomes and much
more. For example choosing a
phone with the best tariff for you , or predicting
how much money an event will make.
FORMULAS
FUNCTION
A formula is a basic
mathematical
Calculation like
adding two
numbers. It is performed by using 2 cell references.
This is a formula, it is multiplying the values in cells
A1 and B1
} These are the two cells that are
being multiplied together, the *
is the multiple symbol.
This is the range of cells that the function is to be
applied to. In this case all the cells between A1 and
A56 are to added together.
The clue is in the
title, it simply
processes words, a
bit like an old type
writer (if you know
what they are).
Some word
processors do a lot
more than this and
they can have a
range of additional
functions like the
image editing capabilities that Microsoft Word
has. They are very
good at presenting
things in tables and
for producing
illustrated reports.
The output for
word processing
software can be
either printed or
viewed online, e.g.
a blog.

programs look a lot like
word processing
software, but they are
different and are used
for different purposes.
DTP software uses text,
images, shapes and
colours to produce
printed material, for
example a flyer, poster
or a magazine.
There is a lot of
confusion between WP
and DTP software but they have specific roles.
Think of it like a racing car
and rally car, they are
both fast, but a rally car
wouldn’t perform well on
a race track and likewise a
race car wouldn't be too
happy on a forest track.
DTP software are made to
handle posters, etc.
whereas WP are not.
