Activities

Installation/De-installation of Oracle 11g Home/Client, installation of 12c

Grid and ASM on UNIX servers.

Patching Oracle Home and upgrading Opatch utility.

Creating and Retiring Databases using manual approach.

Creating standby database using Active Cloning method.

Upgrading Database manually from 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.4.

Restoring Database from Tape using RMAN.

Refreshing Database from source to target using RMAN.

Creating and Managing User accounts in database.

Performing Schema Refreshes from Prod to Non-Prod environments.

Creating and retiring schemas.

Performing Parameter Change activity.

Taking Care of Database Outages over weekend.

Reclaiming space on Linux server by resizing datafiles, compressing

listener logs etc.

Carrying out deployments in Dev/Test/UAT and Prod Databases as per

the Deployment Instructions and provide guidelines to Application team.

Interacting with users through e-mail, IM or call in case of GCC related

Roles and Responsibilities

Server Management Monitoring Development, Test and Production servers to keep them up and

running. Troubleshooting and resolving the issue in case any server goes down. Upgrading and installing new Patches of Business Objects application. Creating ODBC connection on the servers to help Application connect to the Database.

Deploying code from one environment to other using Promotion Management and Import Wizard. Deploying universes from one

environment to other using Designer and Information Designer Tool. Keeping track of the performance of the Desktop Intelligence, Web Intelligence and Crystal reports and troubleshooting the issue if the performance go down. Checking the HTML code in case of unexpected
