Purpose

Upon outbound delivery order creation, the system automatically

assigns the outbound delivery orders to routes depending onscheduled dates+ Ater the route assignment, the outbound delivery

orders are assigned to picking aves automatically+ .he shipping

oice clerk orders transportation capacity rom the shipper or each

route+ Ater the conirmation o the shipper, the shipping oice clerk

creates the transportation units /.U0, and assigns them to the route

and a door+ With the automatic release o the aves, the arehouseactivities begin+ Warehouse orkers pick the goods rom dierent

areas in the arehouse using mobile devices and bring them to a

packing station here they are consolidated and packed onto

shipping HUs such as euro pallets+ .he packer attaches shipping

labels to the shipping HUs+ .hen the shipping HUs are moved to the

staging area+ When the truck arrives, it is checked in and directed to a

door+ .he goods are loaded rom the staging area into the truck+ Uponloading completion, the shipping oice clerk posts the goods issue,

prints the delivery note/s0 and loading list/s0, and hands them over to

the truck driver+ .he truck leaves the door and is checked out+

Assign the outbound delivery orders to routes /SAP 3W40

.his step is done automatically upon creation o the outbound

delivery orders+ .he system assigns the outbound delivery orders to

routes+ .he routes are determined based on the delivery dates and the

route schedules+

9 the system cannot ind a route or an outbound delivery order /see

Monitoring0, it is necessary that a arehouse clerk determines the

cause o the ailure, or e7ample, missing master data due to a neroute or a ne ship-to-party+ Once the data is corrected by the

arehouse clerk, the arehouse clerk, triggers a route

redetermination+

Upon outbound delivery order creation, the system

automatically assigns the outbound delivery orders to aves+.he ave assignment is done based on the route and the

activity area+

check the log or the ave assignment, and to maintain thenecessary settings + Aterards, the shipping oice clerk re-

triggers the ave assignment+

6reate a .U /SAP 3W40

.he shipping oice clerk orders transportation capacity rom

the shipper or the routes+ .he shipper conirms thetransportation capacity and the shipping oice clerk receives

an identiier /uni1ue number0 rom the shipper /this is not

done in the system0 or the transport+ :or truck ordering, it

may be useul to check the e7pected volume and eight per

scheduled route /see Monitoring0+

Once the transportation has been conirmed by the shipper,

the shipping oice clerk creates the .Us ith the received

identiier rom the shipper, and assigns them to the route and

a door in SAP 3W4+

9n e7ceptional cases, the shipping oice clerk can manuallyunassign outbound delivery orders rom aves to assign

them to a dierent route and route schedule and to a dierent

ave, or e7ample, to process them earlier in case o a raise

o priority communicated by the customer+

9n this step, the arehouse orker picks the goods and brings them to the packing

station+ .his step is e7ecuted using a mobile device+

.he arehouse orker goes to the starting point or picking, takes the e1uipment

necessary or the picking /or e7ample, vehicle, mobile device0, and logs on as a

resource+ .he orker puts alays a ire basket as pick HU onto the vehicle /this has

not been created in the system yet0+ A permanent HU number is attached as number

and barcode on each pick-HU+

.he arehouse orker receives the irst WO o the 1ueue he is assigned to on hismobile device+ He is prompted to create the pick-HU or this WO+ :or this purpose he

scans the barcode o the pick-HU+

.hen he or she drives to the irst source bin o the irst W. displayed on his or her

mobile device, picks the re1uired 1uantity o the product and puts the product into the

pick-HU proposed by the system+ He or she scans data such as source bin, product,

pick-HU or veriication purposes, and enters the 1uantity+ Ater all ields have been

veriied, the W. is conirmed and the orker proceeds ith the e7ecution o the ne7tW. displayed on his or her mobile device+

Ater the last W. o the WO is conirmed, the arehouse orker is prompted to bring

the pick-HU to the packing station+ .here he or she moves the pick-HU rom the

resource to the packing station and conirms this last step as ell+

Process step #-Part "8Pick the goods /SAP 3W40

9 the picker inds a 1uantity smaller than the re1uested 1uantity in the storage

bin, he or she enters an e7ception code and records the 1uantity dierence inthe W. by entering the 1uantity he or she has actually picked+ With the

conirmation the system reduces the stock on the current bin by the dierence

1uantity and automatically tries to create a ne pick W. rom another bin+ 9

possible, the ne W. is added to the current arehouse order o the picker+ 9

not, the ne W. is assigned to a ne arehouse order, hich is put an 5:

1ueue+

.he e7ceptional situation, that a ne W. cannot be created, or e7ample,

because there is no other stock o the product in the arehouse or only in a

reserve storage type, can be seen in the monitor and re1uires manual

interaction, or e7ample, triggering a pick denial or a replenishment /see

Monitoring0+

Another possible procedure could be that the picker uses an e7ception to block

the bin and triggers an inventory counting to correct the 1uantity on the bin asa hole+

When the last carton o a pallet is picked rom the source bin, the empty pallet

remains at the source bin and is removed during the putaay o a ne pallet

onto the bin+

Pack the goods /SAP 3W40

At the packing station, a arehouse orker packs the goods into shipping HUs /or

e7ample europallets0 per consolidation group+ A consolidation group is used to group

the goods that should be packed and shipped together /or e7ample or one speciic

customer and route0+ .he packer can use the monitor to get the inormation hen to

start packing or a certain consolidation group and hat kind o packaging material to

be used /see Monitoring0+

.he packer takes a packaging material /or e7ample europallet0, and creates an HU+ He

or she prints an HU identiication label+ .he packer transers the goods rom a pick HU

to the shipping HU+ He or she scans the pick-HU, the product to be repacked and the

shipping HU+ .he system internally creates a W. rom the pick HU to the shipping HU

and conirms it immediately+

.he pick HU is automatically deleted upon W. conirmation hen it is empty+ .he ire

baskets is returned later to the starting point+

Once a shipping HU has been completely packed /HU physically ull or no more open

W.s or the consolidation group0, it is eighed and an additional label is printed+ 9t

contains HU inormation such as customer, route, eight and volume+ .he packer

conirms the completion o the shipping HU in the system+ .his triggers the creation o

an HU arehouse task to move the HU to the staging area+

9 the packer inds a 1uantity smaller than the re1uested 1uantity in the picking HU, he

loading /or e7ample, vehicle, mobile device0 and logs on as a

resource+ .he orker picks a shipping HU rom the packing

station and scans its 9=+ .he system automatically inds the

open HU arehouse task created upon completion o the

shipping HU+ .he orker is prompted to bring the shipping HU

to a staging area+ .here he or she drops the shipping HU and

scans the staging bin, thus conirming the HU-WO+ .he orker

drives back to the packing station to proceed ith the ne7tshipping HU

A truck arrives at the checkpoint and drives to the door /SAP 3W40

When the truck arrives, the checkpoint clerk selects the .U

ith the e7ternal identiier /uni1ue number assigned to the .Uduring creation0+ 9 the door assigned to the truck is not ree

yet, the truck must ait+ Once the door is ree, the checkpoint

clerk advises the truck driver to drive to the assigned door+

assigned to this door and conirms it in the same step+ .he arehouse

orker proceeds ith the ne7t shipping HU until the staging area is

empty+ .hen he or she goes to the shipping oice+ .he shipping oice

clerk checks that all delivery items have been loaded into the truck and

conirms the completion o the loading+
