Did you know that the Corona-Norco Family YMCA is helping children and families weather the
economic storm? Every day we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone,
regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. The Y now
operates 9 program sites with a continuum of care for children in the Corona-Norco and Jurupa Valley
Unified School Districts ages 6 weeks to high school. We are always looking for support from our
community. If you would like more information of how you can help, please contact Lorena Gomez
(951) 736-1415 or [email protected] The Corona-Norco Family YMCA is a 501(c) (3) charitable
organization classified by the Internal Revenue Service.
Thank you for your continued support of YOUR YMCA!
School Age - We will be celebrating the Thanksgiving Holiday by kicking off
our Canned Food Drive. We are off to a great start and are hoping to reach
our goal. This is a great opportunity for the kids to be a part of something
big for the community and for our class here at the Main “Y”. They will know
the importance at being able to give to other, especially during the holidays.

Part time Preschool - Last week in State 3 we introduced the theme of fall. We discussed fall colors
and what happens during the fall season. On Friday we had Pajama Day and the children brought their
blankets and did a little workout. This week as we continue with the fall theme the children have the
opportunity to explore leaves, pine cones and learn more about fall. As for the rest of the week we are
focusing on the letters Y, O, K the color orange and the shape is a pentagon. The children are counting 1

the children about what types of buildings he works on and the children were able to
ask him questions about buildings as well. This week, Ms. Bousha’s class will be
looking at the tools that are used to make buildings. They will be using the tools to build houses in the
block center. In the dramatic play area, they can dress up as construction workers. Ms. Marisa’s class will
be looking at who builds buildings. They will be making houses out of various things such as boxes, sticks
