Help Bail Mr. Weber Out of Jail
John Weber, St. Xavier Parish Financial Manager, will
be “going to jail” for the Muscular Dystrophy Asso-
ciation on October 27. He would appreciate your
support in bailing him out and benefitting a great
cause. Suggested donations of $25 would be
greatly appreciated although any amount is wel-
come. Donations raised through this event can go a
long way to help the MDA- $300 supports three
group sessions, $500 provides one year of repairs of
durable medical equipment, $800 sends one child to
MDA summer camp and $1200 funds six initial diag-
nostic visits. Checks can be made payable to MDA
and dropped off at the Parish Office across the park-
ing lot from the school anytime before October 27.
Mr. Weber will take them with him to jail. For more
information, contact him at the parish office at 78-
238-2998.

October Birthday time! ST. XAVIER SCHOOL
BIRTHDAY BOOK PROGRAM
Dear Parents,
The St. Xavier School Library Birthday Book Program is one in which you can celebrate your
child’s birthday in a special way and help our library collection continue to grow.
For a donation of $5 your child may select a new book from the Birthday Box located in the
library. The inside front cover of the book will have his or her name and birthdate inscribed
on a bookplate. The birthday child also has the honor of being the first to check out the new
book.
Children have a special appreciation for the books they select to add to our library shelves.
They enjoy sharing them with their classmates and teachers. These books will remain
throughout all their years at St. Xavier School. This is a wonderful way to commemorate a
very special occasion and to help our library maintain a high-quality collection.
Students or parents wishing to purchase a book may bring five dollars, cash or check to
Mrs.Mohler, librarian.
Your generosity will benefit all of our students. Thank you for your participation and support
of our school library.
Sincerely,
Rosemary Kane

Father Al Brungardt Celebrates 40 Years in the Priesthood
On Sunday, October 9th, St. Xavier Parish held a special reception at the Knights
of Columbus Hall in Junction City. The purpose of the event was to help Father
Al Brungardt celebrate 40 years in the Priesthood, having been ordained in June
of 1971. Over one hundred Parishioners, family and friends showed up to help
Father Al celebrate and to show him their love and appreciation for his involve-
ment in their lives. As beloved pastor Father Al has touched the lives of countless
individuals. Attendees brought in a wide selection of Father Al’s favorite snack
foods and cakes were made especially for him. It was a wonderful event with a
short program included giving folks an opportunity to stand p and share a spe-
cial memory with Father Al. St. Xavier is truly blessed to have Father Al and we
collectively thank him for everything he does. Thank you, Father Al!

This year, something new is being brought to
St. Xavier Catholic School—Marching Band! The band
instructor, Mr. Workman, organized marching band for
students in 7-12 grade, along with second year
advanced 6th graders. On September 14, 2011, 47
students in the marching band traveled to the Kansas
State Fair where they received a II rating (1 ratings are
rarely given out) for their overall performance of the
Saint Xavier Fight Song and Armed Forces on Parade.
Four days later, 24 students traveled to Manhattan for
the KSU Band Day, where 2,000 high school band
students attended. At halftime, the band played
with the KSU band playing songs such as Respect
(Aretha Franklin cover), 867-5309/Jenny, God
Bless America, the Wildcat
Victory Song, 1812 Over-
ture, and Sweet Caro-
line. When asked how the
events were, the band stu-
dents’ overall response was
unanimous: “FUUUUN!!”
The band will be performing
in the gym on Oct. 13 at 7
p.m.

This year the Yearbook Staff is going to continue the mystery
person mini game. Like last year it’s a game that can anyone
play as long as you are a student of St. Xavier School.
In this game anyone has an opportunity to “Guess Who’’
the mystery person is. In addition, if anyone can guess the right
answer, he/she will be able to claim a prize. For more informa-
tion just ask Mrs. Fowler.
Place your guesses in the box that is located in the computer
lab. One winner will be selected at the end of every month.
Someone that likes the color
of sky-blue,
is 5’ 0”, and likes to draw.

Lady Rams!
Our Lady Rams have been having a lot of fun this volleyball season. A lot of the
girls say that “winning isn't everything” The team has not won many games, but that’s
not all that matters. The girls have been practicing everyday to improve their skills and
grow closer together as a team. The Lady Rams appear to be having fun in their high-
light pictures of this season. Every game the ladies come ready to play hard. Each game
may not end in victory , but each game is a lesson to see what went wrong and what
they need to improve on. The lady rams next game will be at Tescott “4:30pm.
Support the Lady Rams —Its going to be a good game
GO LADY RAMS!
