specific rule regarding food.God said “a kid shall not lie down in it's mothers milk”.
This has come to mean you cannot mix meat and milk.God said that in order to be good to eat, an animal must
chew it's cud and have split hooves. This is why pork is a big no-no. Pigs do not chew their cud like cows do.
God said that in order to be good to eat, anything that swims in the sea must have fins and scales. Most fish do, but shellfish (shrimp, scallops, lobster, clams, oysters), do not.

Travel Tips ~ ShabbatShabbat is the Jewish sabbath.
It officially starts at sundown on Friday and ends at Sunday on Saturday.
People usually leave work early on Friday. Businesses close early on Friday and do not reopen until
Shabbat is over. The most religious observers will not do work of any
sort during Shabbat, including turning on and off lights or pushing buttons in elevators. This has led to the creation of the Shabbat elevator which stops on each floor automatically, opening and closing its door and then before continuing to the next floor. (Note: Some hotels will not allow the use of microphones or other electronic devices during Shabbat.)
Shabbat also means that no food is cooked. Saturday morning breakfast will be slightly different (food has been kept hot overnight, only hard boiled eggs will be available) and Saturday nights dinner is delayed because it cannot be cooked until the sun goes down.

Convertor Together Step 1) Plug the Adaptor plug (A) onto
the Converter (B). Note: Select the adaptor plug based on the country you are in. The one for Israel has two round pins (marked by blue arrow). Tip: It is best to bring all the adaptor plugs you get in the kit.
Step 2) Plug your appliance into the Convertor (B).
Step 3) Plug the whole unit into the wall socket.
Tip: In Israel, the wall sockets are often recessed a great deal. You might find stacking two similar Adaptor plugs onto your Convertor will be necessary due to the depth of the socket.

Important Tips1) Check the wattage of your appliance. Make sure the
convertor can handle the wattage. For example, CURLING IRONS are notorious for drawing too much wattage. They over heat and the handles melt. In addition, the convertors overheat and never function again. If you are planning to take an item that draws a lot of wattage (such as a curling iron), consider purchasing one that is dual voltage model, eliminating the need for the converter (you will still need to use the adaptor plugs to fit the outlet).
2) Take a small extension cord. It comes in handy when outlets are far from mirrors.

Travel Tips ~ ClothingModest Dress
Required When visiting religious sites, you may be
asked to cover up. Usually this means no shorts allowed and no bare shoulders, no bare knees; however, sometimes, you may be asked to cover your head as well.
On days when your itinerary takes you to religious sites (in Israel, that is most days), it is wise to avoid wearing shorts or sleeveless shirts. Men should to carry a hat and woman should carry a large scarf which can cover the head and shoulders.
Always check with your guide a day or two in advance regarding the daily itinerary and what it might bring it terms of dress.

However, Israel changes to summer time before the USA does
For the short time when Israel is on Day Light Savings Time but the US is not, there will be a Six Hour difference in time.
Flight Time from JFK to Tel Aviv……between 12 and 14 hours depending on weather conditions and availability of ground crews (yes… they can actually slow down in air to await the arrival of the gate crew!)
