EVENT OVERVIEW Life moves fast in the WTCR − FIA World Touring Car Cup. With the brake dust still settling on a thrilling Slovakia triple-header, the series heads to the Hungaroring this weekend for three more all-action races when all drivers will use the single specification Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport tyre. Cyan Racing Lynk & Co’s Yann Ehrlacher starts the WTCR Race of Hungary event as the Goodyear #FollowTheLeader with a 21-point margin over the chasing pack, which is now led by Tom Coronel following his Race 2 triumph in Slovakia for Comtoyou DHL Team Audi Sport. WTCR Rookie Driver Gilles Magnus holds an impressive third in the standings following his podium double in Slovakia in a Comtoyou Audi, further evidence of the RACB National Team-backed driver’s rapid progression. Nathanaël Berthon, who like Comtoyou team-mate and WTCR Trophy rival Coronel won in the WTCR for the first time on Sunday, is fourth in the table 14 points behind Coronel after he completed the Slovakia Ring weekend as the TAG Heuer Most Valuable Driver. While Berthon, Coronel and Ehrlacher have all won in the WTCR this season, King of WTCR and home hero Norbert Michelisz is still chasing his first triumph of the current campaign in his BRC Hyundai N LUKOIL Squadra Corse entry. Although he won’t be roared on by the thousands of vocal fans that traditionally descend on the Hungaroring due to the event being held behind closed doors amid COVID-19 restrictions, the home hero will be count on a huge virtual following. After netting breakthrough podiums in Belgium and Germany Attila Tassi will use his home event to hit back from a frustrating trip to Slovakia for ALL-INKL.DE Münnich Motorsport. Bence Boldizs and Gábor Kismarty-Lechner complete the local driver contingent in CUPRA Leon Competición TCRs run by Hungarian team Zengő Motorsport, which can also count on the services of WTCR race winner Mikel Azcona from Spain. Tassi’s fellow Honda-powered driver Néstor Girolami won twice in Hungary last year and has ground to make up in the points chase following his high-speed accident in Race 2 at WTCR Race of Slovakia. The severity of the crash has required his ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport team to ready a replacement Honda Civic Type R TCR

to ensure the Argentine will be back on the grid in Hungary, where team-mate Esteban Guerrieri will be looking to bolster his own title ambitions. Other drivers in the top 10 prior to WTCR Race of Hungary include Thed Björk, Yvan Muller, Jean-Karl Vernay and Dutchman Nicky Catsburg, who won for the first time in the WTCR in Slovakia but will miss the Hungary weekend during to a previous racing commitment. As a result, Austrian youngster and WTCR newcomer Nico Gruber has been drafted in to replace him at Engstler Hyundai N Liqui Moly Racing Team where he will link up with WTCR Rookie Driver contender Luca Engstler. Inaugural WTCR title winner Gabriele Tarquini has won twice at WTCR Race of Hungary, while Santiago Urrutia raced at the Hungaroring in TCR Europe last season. Tiago Monteiro has extensive track knowledge and race-winning pedigree, while Aurélien Comte will be expected to build on his WTCR points-scoring return in Slovakia in Vuković Motorsport’s Renault Mégane RS TCR. WTCR Race of Hungary is the second event to feature the three-race format after double-headers in Belgium and Germany with all three races taking place on Sunday (October 18). As well as the 20 all-season racers, two wildcard drivers will join the battle for WTCR glory in Hungary. They are Argentine Súper TC2000 driver Jose Manuel Sapag (Target Competition Hyundai i30 N TCR) and Italian Luca Filippi. The vastly successful single-seater racer with Formula One testing experience continues his race-by-race programme in a Team Mulsanne, Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR by Romeo Ferraris. Hungaroring is the first WTCR track that he’s raced on before. Fans unable to attend in person can count on extensive live broadcasting − including on Sport TV in Hungary − as well fresh and fun content across the WTCR’s social channels. The live broadcasting package covers six continents as part of the WTCR’s biggest broadcast distribution ever.

WTCR RACE OF HUNGARY: WHAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR? The WTCR − FIA World Touring Car Cup delivered a weekend of hugely close and action-packed racing as Honda-powered Néstor Girolami took a double win to move into the lead on the #RoadToMalaysia by topping the title standings. But while there was joy for Argentina, the thousands of Hungarian fans cheering on their national hero Norbert Michelisz had to make do with second place following Gabriele Tarquini’s Race 3 victory at the expense of his BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse team-mate. As in 2018, Michelisz started on the DHL Pole Position but was unable to keep Tarquini − the inaugural WTCR title winner − behind. After finishing third in Race 1 to take the title lead, Esteban Guerrieri was fifth in Race 2 before dropping out of the Race 3 lead when an electrical issue triggered a momentary power loss. And it would get worse for the ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport driver when he crashed into retirement later on with broken steering, the legacy of damage sustained in Race 2. Yvan Muller bagged his first podium of 2019 with second in Race 1, while his nephew and fellow Lynk & Co-powered racer Yann Ehrlacher took third in Race 3, which, like Race 2, took place on a damp track. Jean-Karl Vernay started the reverse-grid Race 2 from the DHL Pole Position but a clutch problem led to a sluggish start. He finished second ahead of Hungaroring rookie Daniel Haglöf, the Swede claiming the new PWR Racing’s second podium of the season, one place ahead of CUPRA-driving team-mate Mikel Azcona, who also took fourth in Race 3. Aurélien Panis was fifth in Race 1 for Comtoyou DHL Team CUPRA Racing. Thed Björk, who arrived in Hungary leading the standings, came away with a weekend-best fifth in Race 3. Rob Huff took the TAG Heuer Best Lap Trophy for his rapid effort in Race 3 at the wheel of his SLR Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR. WTCR Q&A: NORBERT MICHELISZ Crowned the King of WTCR after winning the 2019 title, BRC Hyundai N LUKOIL Squadra Corse driver Norbert Michelisz is the ultimate Hungarian hero. This what he’s had to say ahead of his home rounds of the WTCR − FIA World Touring Car Cup. Your home rounds of the WTCR but with no fans due to COVID-19 restrictions. What’s it going to be like? “It’s very difficult for me to imagine but I know it will be strange. Even though it will be a real shame for them and for the atmosphere, and for sure it won’t be like it was in previous years, it was the right decision by the organisers. Safety and health are the most important things right now. We have to be happy we can race at the Hungaroring but hopefully next year fans will be able to come and even more people will want to come because they had to skip one year. We want to make it up to them next year.” What message do you have for the fans? “Stay home and stay safe, and stay really healthy. In Hungary there is a second wave [of COVID-19 infection] and the health of everyone has to be the priority. Nowadays we have very good platforms to follow the races. I know it’s not the same as visiting the circuit but I would say subscribe to Eurosport Player or watch the races on Sport 1 and enjoy.” The event moves from April to October. How will this impact on the event? “Sometimes at the mid or end of October it’s 20 degrees but we can also have five degrees, a lot of rain and fog, but it’s very hard to predict. But we’ve had rain and cold temperatures at the end of April so I don’t expect anything unusual, it will be more or less the same. The big question mark for me is whether it will rain or if we will survive with dry conditions. We don’t have a lot of info about the rain tyres so let’s wait and see.” How will your Hungaroring experience help you if it does rain? “I have quite a lot of experience on the Hungaroring, which is always a benefit. But the others also have plenty of experience because it’s nine years we’ve been going there. I don’t expect to have a huge margin because I drove there 20 per cent more than them. Most of the time I went there was with the WTCC or WTCR.” WTCR Race of Hungary is the second triple-header weekend of the season when the new qualifying and grid formation format will be used. Are you a fan?

Page 18: WTCR Race of Hungary 2020 data kit - Amazon S3...11 Mikel Azcona (ESP) 51 12 Santiago Urrutia (URY) 46 13 Attila Tassi (HUN) 43 14 Norbert Michelisz (HUN) 39 15 Tiago Monteiro (PRT)

“I like it. I prefer three races much more than two and it’s also a good format to have one qualifying session and split the results in this format what we have. For sure it will be very intense with the three races back to back. You need to be a bit clever and a bit tactical. But the approach changes a bit in Q1. Previously the target was to set a lap time good enough to go to Q2. Now the target should be to set a lap time good enough for pole position or on the front row. And there are five points as well.” You say you need to be “a bit tactical”, why? “Of course, if you have a big accident you mess a bit your chances for the following races but since we had this last year and the year before I feel prepared and this was more or less the rhythm we’ve always had so it should not be something unusual. And we have the perfect team to fix the car if something goes wrong.”

Initiated by the WTCR promoter in support of the FIA’s #PurposeDriven movement to return to racing with a clear purpose, Eurosport Events is donating €1 for every kilometre completed by every all-season driver in every qualifying session and race in 2020 with the goal of raising €100,000 with additional donations from drivers, other members of the WTCR community and stakeholders. WTCR Race of Belgium also marked the start of Goodyear’s exclusive WTCR tyre supplier agreement with all teams using the single specification of slick Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport race tyre. Drivers benefited from an extremely consistent compound and were able to push hard to the end of each race, both held in warm and dry conditions. In the two races, Thed Björk and Attila Tassi joined Girolami on the Race 1 podium with 21-year-old Tassi’s appearance his first in the WTCR. Yvan Muller finished second behind his nephew Ehrlacher in Race 2 with WTCR newcomer Santiago Urrutia completing the top-three places in a Lynk & Co-powered, Cyan-run 1-2-3 after a technical issued slowed Gilles Magnus. Nathanaël Berthon started the second race on the DHL Pole Position but was penalised for a jumped start. The Frenchman’s recovery drive earned him the TAG Heuer Best Lap Trophy for the first time. WTCR RACE 1 REPORT: GIROLAMI WINS TO BECOME GOODYEAR #FOLLOWTHELEADER Néstor Girolami scored a convincing victory in Race 1 at WTCR Race of Belgium, the Argentine leading the reverse-grid Race 1 all the way at Zolder. Girolami started from the DHL Pole Position in his ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Honda Civic Type R TCR and worked hard on Goodyear’s new WTCR tyres to keep ahead of Thed Björk, whose Cyan Performance Lynk & Co 03 TCR chased him throughout the 13 laps. Hungarian Attila Tassi scored his first WTCR podium in third place for the ALL-INKL.DE Münnich Motorsport Honda team. “Congratulations to everyone in the team, they did a fantastic job in the long wait for this season to begin,” said Girolami, whose victory marks his fourth in WTCR and makes him the Goodyear#FollowTheLeader ahead of Race 2. “To get a victory now is a good present for the mechanics. I’d like to dedicate this to my little baby and my wife.”

Björk, third on the grid, made a strong start to get ahead of front row starter Jean-Karl Vernay, the Frenchman slipping back to fifth in his first WTCR start in Team Mulsanne’s Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR by Romeo Ferraris. Vernay would remain fifth at the flag, behind WTCR Trophy winner Tom Coronel, who achieved fourth place in his first race driving Comtoyou DHL Team Audi Sport’s Audi RS 3 LMS. Björk said he was delighted to score a podium after the long delay to the season, in a race that showed an increase in lap times in the closing stages on the new Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport tyres. “It is fantastic to be back in the car and racing, and to get a podium after the long pre-season. This track is hard on the cars and there was some oil that made it difficult.” Tassi was equally pleased with his first WTCR podium finish. “I wasn’t expecting this,” he said. “My aim is to learn from my experienced team-mates, so a 1-3 is a great result for the team.” But there were dramas for the other Münnich Hondas. Esteban Guerrieri’s race ended on lap three in a cloud of smoke while he was running eighth, while Tiago Monteiro also retired in similar fashion on lap eight. He was P14 at the time. Santiago Urrutia scored a strong sixth place for Cyan Performance on his WTCR debut in the Lynk & Co 03 TCR, ahead of Yann Ehrlacher’s Lynk & Co and the Frenchman’s uncle Yvan Muller. WTCR Trophy contender Nathanaël Berthon, who starts Race 2 from the DHL Pole Position, was ninth in his Comtoyou DHL Team Audi Sport Audi RS 3 LMS after a duel with top FIA Rookie Award runner Gilles Magnus in his Comtoyou Racing Audi RS 3 LMS. King of WTCR Nobert Michelisz was the best of the Hyundais in his BRC Hyundai N LUKOIL Squadra Corse entry in P11. The other points scorers were FIA Rookie Award entry Luca Engstler who was P12 in his Engstler Hyundai N Liqui Moly Racing Team Hyundai i30 N TCR, Australian Dylan O’Keeffe in his first WTCR start driving Vuković Motorsport's Renault Mégane RS TCR, Dutchman Nicky Catsburg for Engstler Hyundai N Liqui Moly Racing Team Hyundai and 2018 WTCR title winner Gabriele Tarquini in P15. WTCR RACE 2 REPORT: EHRLACHER TRIUMPHS AFTER BERTHON JUMPS START Yann Ehrlacher won Race 2 at WTCR Race of Belgium after DHL Pole Position starter Nathanaël Berthon was penalised for a jumped start. The victory marked Ehrlacher’s first in Cyan Racing’s Lynk & Co 03 TCR and his third overall in the WTCR, as his uncle Yvan Muller and WTCR newcomer Santiago Urrutia completed a one-two-three for the Chinese customer racing brand after they passed FIA Rookie Award winner and home hero Gilles Magnus, who was struggling with a fuel pump issue in his Comtoyou Racing Audi RS 3 LMS. Berthon was creeping forward from his DHL pole as the red lights went out at the start, leaving Ehrlacher safe in the knowledge he was the de facto leader in the early laps. Behind them, Race 1 podium finishers Thed Björk and Attila Tassi collided at the chicane, Tassi’s Honda delayed and Björk’s Lynk & Co clouting the tyre stack and retiring on the spot with damage, forcing the Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition safety car to be deployed. Racing action resumed on lap four, with Berthon pitting for his drive-through penalty at the end of lap five, having backed up Ehrlacher into Magnus’s close-following Audi. But once Berthon was out of the way, Ehrlacher was able to open up a decisive gap. “The start was not bad, although the first couple of corners were messy,” said Ehrlacher, who leaves Zolder as the Goodyear#FollowTheLeader. “But I saw Berthon had jumped the start so I just waited. I was pleased with my pace in the race so I’m pleased to score my first victory for Cyan Racing.” Magnus looked set for a strong podium at his home circuit on his WTCR debut, only for Muller to force him into a mistake at the chicane on lap 15 of 18, with Urrutia soon following the Frenchman through to complete the Lynk & Co podium lock out. Magnus was just relieved to finish as the fuel pump problem cut power. The RACB National Team Driver held on to finish a still strong fourth and add the WTCR Trophy win to his FIA Rookie Award victory, ahead of Race 1 winner Néstor Girolami in his ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Honda Civic Type R TCR. In fifth place Tom Coronel completed a strong outing in his Comtoyou DHL Team Audi Sport Audi RS 3 LMS, ahead of Jean-Karl Vernay’s Team Mulsanne Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR by Romeo Ferraris.

King of WTCR Norbert Michelisz was seventh in his BRC Hyundai N LUKOIL Squadra Corse Hyundai i30 N TCR, ahead of fellow Hyundai runners Nicky Catsburg and Luca Engstler in their Engstler Hyundai N Liqui Moly Racing Team entries. The race finished under caution after FIA Rookie Award contender Jack Young was punted off by a recovering Tassi. Northern Irishman Young, 18, had impressed by holding off the hugely experienced Gabriele Tarquini and Tiago Monteiro earlier on in the race in his first WTCR weekend. Driving for Vuković Motorsport, his Renault Mégane RS TCR ended the race beached in the gravel through no fault of his own. The other points finishers were Mikel Azcona in P11 driving Zengő Motorsport’s CUPRA Leon Competición, Dylan O’Keeffe in his Vuković Motorsport Renault, Esteban Guerrieri’s Honda, Berthon and Monteiro. Ehrlacher is the Goodyear #FollowTheLeader Yann Ehrlacher is the Goodyear #FollowTheLeader of the 2020 WTCR − FIA World Touring Car Cup after scoring 43 points across the weekend. The 24-year-old claimed five points for going fastest in Qualifying Q1, four points for placing P2 in Q3, nine points for finishing Race 1 in seventh position and 25 points for winning Race 2. New rules for 2020 mean the fastest five drivers in Q1 score points on a scale of 5-4-3-2-1, with the same system applied for Q3. RACE WINNER QUOTES Race 1: Néstor Girolami (ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport, Honda Civic Type R TCR) “First of all, I’d like to congratulate Attila for his first podium. Also, congratulations to Thed and to all my team who did a fantastic job. We knew the start was the key of the race because here at Zolder it is really difficult to overtake, so we practiced in the pre-season. I was confident every time I practiced the start during the weekend and I knew that after the start I had to avoid mistakes. I made a gap, then suddenly I picked up some oil in the last corner. Suddenly I was very wide, Thed was cutting the difference, he was there, but anyway I think we had the pace to make the gap. We were very solid and I think we did everything well this weekend. We scored points and a victory for Honda, so I am so happy. Also let me dedicate this victory to Oliver who had a family issue yesterday and had to go home, so I want to dedicate this to him and all his family.” Race 2: Yann Ehrlacher (Cyan Racing Lynk & Co, Lynk & Co 03 TCR) “Everythng happened at the start. I saw [Berthon] jumped the start, but he still did two or three laps and he had really good pace. It would have been good for me to follow that pace. But then he went to the box and I had my free way to work on my pace and saving my tyres to the end, because it is quite a long race. So then I started to build a gap to the guy behind me. The race went really well and I’m really pleased that all three were on the podium, and a family podium with Yvan so let’s say our weekend is well accomplished. We are really thankful to the organisers of the WTCR because it is not easy to organise all this at this time, so I’m really thankful to be a part of this race weekend and I hope it will continue as long as possible. I also want to give a word to the #RaceTo Care project, which offers one euro for one kilometre for all the medical stuff, so that’s a really nice project.”

The Argentine started on the front row in his ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Honda Civic Type R TCR alongside DHL Pole Position man Muller and pressured the Cyan Racing Lynk & Co 03 TCR driver hard from the safety car start. Then at the Aremberg right-hander Guerrieri made a brave move for the lead on the outside line, on a slippery track surface. The pair rubbed doors through the turn, but Guerrieri had the inside line for the following left hander and was through. Guerrieri opened up a convincing lead to win the three-lap reverse-grid encounter on the 25.378-kilometre track ahead of a Lynk & Co two-three-four, as Muller headed his nephew, Goodyear #FollowTheLeader Yann Ehrlacher, and Thed Björk. “The passing move was risky, but when you race an experienced driver like Yvan you can make it,” said Guerrieri, whose victory has kickstarted his 2020 WTCR campaign. “There was more grip on the outside. But I was on the grass twice on the first lap. I still made a gap and knew where the grip was from memories from last year. I’m very happy to be back on the podium again.” Ehrlacher passed Björk late in the race to score a podium finish. “Sixth on the grid to third!” he said. “Those are important points in the bag. But we’re missing the fans here at the track.” Tom Coronel clung on to fifth despite reporting a mechanical problem on his Comtoyou DHL Team Audi Sport Audi RS 3 LMS. The Dutchman started third on the grid and looked to challenge Muller for second on lap one, before slipping back into the clutches of Björk and Ehrlacher. Björk made a decisive move at the start of the third lap, taking the outside line at Turn 1 which gave him the inside route for Turn 2. The pair made contact, and Ehrlacher was able to take advantage and also slip past Coronel. Néstor Girolami finished sixth in his ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Honda, ahead of WTCR Rookie Driver award contender Gilles Magnus in his Comtoyou Racing Audi RS 3 LMS and Tiago Monteiro’s Honda. Jean-Karl Vernay in his Team Mulsanne Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR by Romeo Ferraris and Bence Boldizs’ Zengő Motorsport CUPRA Leon Competición were next up, ensuring five customer racing brands finished in the top 10. Among those to hit trouble at the Nordschleife included Nathanaël Berthon, who was forced to start late from the pitlane in his Comtoyou DHL Team Audi Sport entry. The Frenchman was still able to finish in P12, behind Gábor Kismarty-Lechner’s CUPRA. Santiago Urrutia’s Lynk & Co and Attila Tassi’s Honda failed to make the finish following contact, as did Mikel Azcona, who retired his Zengő Motorsport CUPRA at the Karussell on lap one. Jack Young sustained heavy damage to the right front corner of his Vuković Motorsport Renault Mégane RS TCR and was also forced out.

The Cyan Racing ace slipstreamed his Lynk & Co 03 TCR ahead of Girolami’s ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Honda Civic Type R TCR on the long Döttinger Höhe straight at the end of the first lap of the legendary 25.378-kilometre track to score his second win of the 2020 WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup season. “It’s such an amazing feeling to win a race on the greatest track in the world,” said an overjoyed Ehrlacher, 24, who also collected the TAG Heuer Best Lap Trophy. “I can’t believe we won on the Nordschleife in those conditions. It’s the best win of my career, absolutely insane. It’s good for the team and for the drivers’ championship.” Girolami, second in the points before the race, suffered a blow to his title hopes when he was penalised 30 seconds for a start procedure violation. The regulations allow for two reconnaissance laps and one pass through the pitlane prior to lining up on the grid. However, in error, Girolami completed three reconnaissance laps, passing through the pitlane twice. Thed Björk completed a Cyan Racing one-two after passing Girolami on Döttinger Höhe on the second lap, with Attila Tassi inheriting the final podium position from his penalised ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport team-mate. Girolami was classified in P11 after his penalty was applied. Behind Tassi, Mikel Azcona scored a brilliant fourth place in Zengő Motorsport’s new CUPRA Leon Competición after passing Race 1 winner Esteban Guerrieri on the run to the finish. Jean-Karl Vernay (Team Mulsanne Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR by Romeo Ferraris) held off Yvan Muller’s Lynk & Co to finish seventh and win the WTCR Trophy. Tom Coronel was eighth in his Comtoyou DHL Team Audi Sport Audi RS 3 LMS, despite having started fifth on the grid. The Dutchman lost ground when he slid into the gravel at Aremberg on lap one. Tiago Monteiro placed ninth in his Honda as Santiago Urrutia’s Lynk & Co completed the top 10 from the back of the grid, ahead of Girolami. Nathanaël Berthon was P12 in his Comtoyou DHL Team Audi Sport entry, in front of the CUPRAs of Bence Boldizs and Gábor Kismarty-Lechner. WTCR Rookie Driver award contender Gilles Magnus, who is competing with the support of the Belgian federation’s RACB National Team initiative crashed out on lap two in his Comtoyou Audi. Ehrlacher continues as the Goodyear #FollowTheLeader Yann Ehrlacher continues to wear the Goodyear #FollowTheLeader yellow jacket after he extended his advantage at the top of the WTCR − FIA World Touring Car Cup standings from seven to 31 points. The Cyan Racing Lynk & Co driver scored eight points in qualifying, 16 points for finishing third in Race 1 and 25 points for winning Race 2 at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife. As well as wearing the Goodyear #FollowTheLeader yellow jacket, Ehrlacher will carry the Goodyear #FollowTheLeader yellow windscreen trip on his Lynk & Co 03 TCR at the start of the WTCR Race of Slovakia weekend next month. More information: https://www.fiawtcr.com/race-to-care/ RACE WINNER QUOTES Race 1: Esteban Guerrieri (ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport, Honda Civic Type R TCR) “It’s never easy at this track. There are so many situations that can hurt you. It’s between being confident and not over-confident. At the start, I followed Yvan and I had an idea from last year where the grip might be in other sections and the part where I could attack a bit more. I saw Yvan braking on the inside a bit early so I tried around the outside, I didn’t know what was going to happen. Then we went side by side out of that corner and very fair going down the hill, the Yvan lifted so basically it was a very fair move. After that to be honest I really pushed on that first lap because I needed to make a gap because we believe the Lynk & Cos are quicker down the straight. I went to the grass in one section, I hit a kerb in another corner somewhere, so it was quite a crazy first lap. I have to say, probably a bit too much. But then after that I created a gap and could with experience from the first lap plus the gap I created I could kind of control it. It was mega, really nice to again win at the Nordschleife, so I’m really happy. Race 2: Yann Ehrlacher (Cyan Racing Lynk & Co, Lynk & Co 03 TCR) “Definitely it was a really good race for us. The start was not bad even if it was behind the safety car. I was a bit cautious in the first few corners and the first part of the Nordschleife because the conditions were changing quite quickly on this long track, then I just prepared my move on Bebu at the end of lap one. And on lap two I pushed like hell to make a big lap and definitely that was one of the craziest laps of my career. Then on lap three I was just managing the gap, and here we are leading the championship and winning this race, which is one of the craziest I have ever done, so I’m really happy about that. Honestly, the feeling we had out there was absolutely insane, not even comparable to something we have on other tracks. It’s like you are driving on the edge if you make a 30cm mistake on your line or you are off on your braking. The conditions are changing corner after corner, drier, wetter and so on. It’s absolutely insane.”

RACES SO FAR IN 2020: WTCR RACE OF SLOVAKIA WTCR Race of Slovakia, Slovakia Ring, October 9-11: Race report WTCR − FIA World Touring Car Cup, rounds 5, 6 and 7 of 16

THREE RACES, THREE NEW WINNERS AS SLOVAKIA RING DELIVERS SENSATIONAL WTCR ACTION *Berthon, Coronel and Catsburg all triumph for the first time at WTCR Race of Slovakia *Ehrlacher still wears the yellow jacket as Goodyear #FollowTheLeader despite tough weekend *Girolami’s title ambitions dented by Race 2 crash but Argentine given all-clear after checks *WTCR Rookie Driver Magnus impresses with breakthrough podium Nathanaël Berthon, Tom Coronel and Nicky Catsburg registered their first victories in the WTCR − FIA World Touring Cup during a drama-packed day of high-speed action at the Slovakia Ring. Berthon, a double DHL Pole Position sitter in his Audi RS 3 LMS, claimed his maiden WTCR triumph in Race 1, a result his fellow Comtoyou DHL Team Audi Sport driver Tom Coronel emulated in Race 2. Nicky Catsburg then landed his and his Engstler Hyundai N Liqui Moly Racing Team’s first WTCR win in Race 3. All WTCR drivers use the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport tyre as standard. Gabriele Tarquini (BRC Hyundai N LUKOIL Squadra Corse) and Jean-Karl Vernay (Team Mulsanne) completed the Race 1 podium with Gilles Magnus (Comtoyou Racing) and Esteban Guerrieri (ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport) doing likewise in Race 2. Vernay and Berthon were second and third respectively in Race 3 although Vernay was subsequently demoted to fourth place after he was handed a five-second penalty for contact with Norbert Michelisz. Vernay also lost his fourth place from Race 2 when 10-second penalty dropped him back to P14 after a collision with Yvan Muller. Race 1 took place in damp conditions following overnight rain and a spectacular counter ensued. Berthon spent the first two corners running side by side with fellow front-row starter Catsburg before the Dutchman took the lead at Turn 3. But Catsburg soon started to struggle on a damp track that was drying quickly and Berthon swept into a lead he wouldn’t lose. Coronel made a great start from seventh on the grid in Race 2 to rise to second place on the opening lap, then took the lead from Guerrieri through Slovakia Ring's long right-hander in the closing stages after Guerrieri had made rapid progress to lead on lap one after starting fifth. Guerrieri slipped to third three laps before the end after Magnus, a contender for the WTCR Rookie Driver prize, got ahead to cement his first WTCR podium. On the last lap, Girolami was nudged into a big accident when Vernay was unable to avoid making contact with the rear of the Honda, which was sent hard into a barrier. Girolami escaped from the impact uninjured and has subsequently been given the all-clear following medical checks. Catsburg started Race 3 from third on the grid, but took the lead after Berthon, on the DHL Pole Position, lost out in the drag to Turn 1. Catsburg initially battled with fellow Hyundai driver Norbert Michelisz, but the Hungarian was nudged into a half spin by Vernay. That left Catsburg with a clear path to his first WTCR victory although Vernay chased him all the way to finish second following his maiden podium for Team Mulsanne and Romeo Ferraris in the opening counter. Race 1 winner Berthon finished third for Comtoyou DHL Team Audi Sport after he was spun out in Race 2. Cyan Racing Lynk & Co’s Yann Ehrlacher continues to wear the yellow jacket as the Goodyear #FollowTheLeader despite a tough Slovakia weekend. His advantage heading to next weekend’s WTCR Race of Hungary triple-header is down to 20 points ahead of new second-placed driver Coronel, the leader of the WTCR Trophy.

So thanks to all the team. Definitely this race was not easy even if we had a big gap at the end. The start was quite tricky because it was a bit more wet on the left side than the right. In the end we managed to do quite a reasonable start and Nicky [Catsburg] made a better start than me. It was a very fair fight, it was something I really like to be involved in. You know, in the WTCR sometimes there is quite a lot of contact and this battle was really fair, so thanks to him. I really enjoyed it. And then, it’s amazing, I’m very happy, it’s my first win in this championship. I’ve had a few poles, but this time I hope I will keep the result. We are always fighting, pushing to the max everywhere and I’m very happy for everybody.” Race 2: Tom Coronel (Cyan Racing Lynk & Co, Lynk & Co 03 TCR) “Mama Mia! Now I remember how it feels because it was a long time ago. It was good, we knew we would be strong here and there was a possibility, but I didn’t expect it would be like this. The move was in the beginning. I had a good start but then before T2 I was in the grass because I was only looking at Girolami. Then I saw Guerrieri had a lot of difficulties with the tyres and I thought I would dive in and it worked out. It’s all about managing your tyres, that was my strategy and it worked. When you work hard and finally we had the full outfit, the team, the testing, the preparation was all done well and the results are there. I start P6, I didn’t expect it. Then the move in the first corner when they were fighting was my luck. Race 3: Nicky Catsburg (Engstler Hyundai N Liqui Moly Racing Team, Hyundai i30 N TCR) “The start was really great. We’ve been struggling with our starts all weekend and we changed some parameters. I just jumped two cars and went from P3 to pretty much equal with the two cars in front. Into Turn 1 I think I braked the latest and then me and Norbi were side by side, and I kept it around the outside and he slowed down, and I think he got turned around into Turn 2, which gave me a little gap. I could maintain that gap, but it was not easy because JK did not make any mistakes so I had to keep on pushing up until about four laps from the end. It started to become a bit easier, his tyres were gone and mine were quite OK. The team did a fantastic job with the set-up. We already noticed in Race 2 that the car was good, but always in traffic, so we didn’t actually do any changes because we knew if the car was out in front the car would be great. It was and it turned out fantastic − my first win in WTCR and also first win for the team, so great result.”

*Did not re-start following race stoppage FIVE FACTS: From online to on track: Michelisz’s online racing exploits earned him a test in a Zengő Motorsport Renault Clio at the Hungaroring in 2005. Despite being a total rookie, he ended up 0.2s slower than established racer Gábor Wéber. One-make maestro: That testing performance earned him a season in the Suzuki Swift Cup in his homeland in 2006. With a career in economics on hold he promptly took the title before adding the Renault Clio equivalent the following season. New horizons: The SEAT León Eurocup was next and after securing the crown in 2009, he stepped up to the FIA World Touring Car Championship with Zengő Motorsport a guiding light. Factory chance: After winning the WTCC Trophy for independent racers twice, Michelisz landed a factory Honda ride for 2016, which culminated in an outright title challenge one year later. He eventually finished runner-up to Thed Björk with three wins and three fastest laps. Did you know? Michelisz, the King of WTCR following his 2019 title triumph, established his own racing team, M1RA, with Hungarian engineer Dávid Bári. FIVE FACTS Quads, karts then cars: Young tried quads as six-year-old, was karting by the age of nine before he switched to racing Renault Clios in 2017, once he’d finished his school exams. Early success: He took the Clio Junior crown in his first year of racing, became Clio International champion in 2018 and then won the Renault UK Clio Cup title in 2019 courtesy of seven wins. Instant impact: Young’s performances earned him a call up to drive Vuković Motorsport’s Renault Mégane RS TCR in the TCR Europe rounds at Barcelona last season. And he made the most of the opportunity by claiming a pair of fourths. Plans change: Young had initially planned a full season in TCR Europe with Vuković Motorsport but with the WTCR switching to a Europe-only schedule for 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Young was offered a full WTCR campaign instead and jumped at the opportunity. Did you know? Young’s father, Philip, was a factory rally driver for Ford on events in the UK and Ireland. But he called time on his career to start a family. CAREER SO FAR: 2011: 1, British Super One Honda Cadet Championship 2017: 1, Renault UK Clio Cup Junior 2018: Renault UK Clio Cup (1 pole position, 1 fastest lap); 1, Renault Clio Cup International 2019: 1 (7 wins), Renault UK Clio Cup; Renault Clio Cup Open (3 wins); 22 (best result 4), TCR Europe (Renault Mégane RS TCR)

*Luca Engstler contested WTCR Race of Slovakia as a wildcard and was therefore not eligible for points. However, because he replaced Augusto Farfus, an all-season driver, at WTCR Race of Macau, he was eligible for Macau only.

FIVE FACTS Racing is in the genes: Engstler is the son of FIA World Touring Car Championship race winner Franz Engstler, who also heads up the team Engstler Jr will drive for in WTCR 2020. Fastest in 15: As well as myriad TCR titles, Engstler completed 2019 with 15 race wins in the various TCR championships around the world. From the football pitch to infinity: The German youngster will carry the #8 on his Engstler Hyundai N Liqui Moly Racing Team Hyundai i30 N TCR and this is why: “Since I started to do any sport my number has always been #8. It began when I was playing football, and then when I moved into motorsport, racing in karting, Formula 4 and finally TCR series around the world. I originally chose it because my birthday is 8 March, but I never changed it, except for the times where I am the champion! Apart from then I would like to keep the #8 for the rest of my racing career, so it’s quite good that the number − on its side − represents infinity.” Help was at hand: When MotoGP star Hafizh Syahrin made his WTCR debut in an Engstler Motorsport-run Hyundai at the Sepang International Circuit in December 2019, Luca Engstler was at hand as a driver coach. Did you know? Engstler spent lockdown living with his parents in Wiggensbach, Bavaria, training hard and preparing his own meals to ensure a healthy diet. FIVE FACTS: No more bikes: After a spell playing ice hockey, Tassi took up riding BMX bikes until he suffered a serious injury. Young starter: ‘Attika’ Tassi was just 12 when he raced a car for the first time, contesting the Suzuki Swift Cup Hungary in 2012. Good company: In 2014, Tassi went up against WTCR podium finisher Dániel Nagy in the Suzuki Swift Cup Hungary. He finished third in the standings, while Nagy had started the season as the defending champion. Second best: Despite his young age, Tassi battled seasoned professional Jean-Karl Vernay for the TCR International Series title in 2017, eventually finishing an impressive second in the final standings. He landed a podium when TCR International supported the Russian Formula One Grand Prix at Sochi in 2016. Did you know? Tassi won the 2018 Swiss TCR title, which was based on the results of several events combined, including TCR Europe and TCR Italy. *Did not re-start following race stoppage FIVE FACTS: Brothers in arms: Born in the village of Vretstorp in Örebro County, Thed is the oldest of three brothers. Although his younger siblings have raced, only Thed has done so at a high level. History-maker: Björk became Sweden’s first motor racing world champion, winning the FIA World Touring Car Championship in 2017. Variety is the spice of life: His varied career has included stints in Swedish F3, the Barber Dodge Pro Series in the USA, the FIA Sportscar Championship, the DTM and the Camaro Cup in his homeland. He also contested the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2002, finishing P15 in a factory-entered Courage C60. In 2018, Björk claimed four wins in WTCR on his way to seventh in the final standings. Early starter: Thed’s motorsport adventure began aged three when his father bought him a motorbike. He got two more wheels aged 11 when a go-kart was purchased. But watching a young Michael Schumacher coming up against Ayrton Senna fired Björk’s interest in circuit racing. “When I was 14 I decided I would be a racing driver and here I am”. Did you know? Björk is married with one daughter and one son, Thor, who was born on the night after FIA WTCC Race of Hungary in April 2016 (Thed cycled from the paddock to a waiting airport transfer for a flight back to Sweden in time for the birth). FIVE FACTS: It started like this… “My Grandad give us a little motorcycle. At the time I was only three years old, like a baby, but I started just riding the bike around the [family] farm. At one point my Dad said, ‘do you want to race?’ and I start racing when I was three. If you think about it, they were a little bit crazy, but I started racing motocross until I had a big crash and my Mum said, ‘Santi, this is enough, if you want to keep racing I want to give you a go-kart’. So, she took a credit from the bank, because it was a really bad year in Uruguay and my Mum is just a school teacher. But she give me the go-kart and I start racing when I was five.” From Braga to the big time: Following success racing karts in his homeland, Urrutia broadened his horizons and ultimately ended up competing in the CIK-FIA World Cup in Braga, Portugal in 2010, the catalyst to a racing career. “It was the first time I flew to Europe. There was Alex Albon, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Esteban Occon and I did pretty cool. I was running third in the pre-final, Max was leading the race, second was Alex Albon and we crashed with each other. At the time I couldn’t speak English but I was super-mad with Max Verstappen.” Move to Europe: “I impressed the team and they said, ‘we want to have you next year’, which was 2011. But, at the time, I was only 14. I look at my Dad and I say, ‘I want to race, I want to do it professional, in the proper way, but my Dad said, ‘you are only 14 so I have to talk with your Mum and we have to see how we can deal with this’. They make the decision to let me go and I go to live in Europe when I was only 14. I was working in the factory to pay my bills and I was racing go-karts. I left my house when I was 14 to follow my dream.” America next: After impressing in Europe, Urrutia headed to the USA. After winning the Pro Mazda title in 2015, he stepped up to Indy Lights and challenged for the title three years running. Did you know? Urrutia, the TCR Europe Rookie of the Year for 2019, came out on top of a driver shootout to secure his Cyan Performance Lynk & Co WTCR seat. FIVE FACTS: From indoors to the big outdoors: “We all had the same passion for racing, we started when we were quite young doing indoor karting and outdoor karting. My brother got some nice results in karting, although he didn’t continue, he put some fire in me because you always want to compete against your brother. I was about eight years old when we started and had to drive with the slower karts, the kids karts, but I didn’t like that. I didn’t have the height to go to the bigger karts but finally, after some discussions with the indoor karting people, they let me in the big karts and I remember the speed was magnificent. This was the moment when I thought I want to grow in the sport and do this all my life. They were only going 50 but it felt like 300kph.” A force in Formula 4: Graduating to outdoor karting aged 11 as the 2010 Belgian Indoor Karting champion, Magnus switched to circuit racing in 2016 and entered the French Formula 4 Championship. He took a podium treble during his second weekend on the Pau street circuit and won at Le Mans, all new tracks which he was able to master thanks to his ability to “adapt real quick to new situations”. Fast and brave: Magnus was equally successful in Formula Renault 2.0 NEC in 2017, when he demonstrated a tremendous resilience during the Spa-Francorchamps round. After crashing at Raidillon at nearly 200kph in the first race following contact with a rival, Magnus was unconscious for two minutes, badly bruised and nursing a break in his upper leg. Mindful the title would be lost if he couldn’t race the next day, Magnus fought through the pain barrier, while his mechanics worked through the night to build up a new chassis. Heroically he won to keep his title dream alive up until the Hockenheim finale, only to lose out by two points following a tough season-closer with an older, uncompetitive chassis. Big win: Magnus was one of 500 applicants for the RACB National Team touring car scholarship for the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Le Mans 24 Hours legend Tom Kristensen was a member of the jury that picked Magnus ahead of four other finalists. Did you know? FIVE FACTS: Versatility is the spice of life: Starting out in the French Porsche Cup in 1997, Monteiro starred in the country’s Formula 3 championship before climbing up the ranks, gaining experience – and plaudits – in Formula 3000, Champ Car and World Series by Nissan. He then earned national hero status when he became the first Portuguese to finish on a Formula One podium after placing third for Jordan in the 2005 US Grand Prix. Destination touring cars: Monteiro was a WTCC frontrunner from the moment he joined the championship with SEAT in 2007. He earned four wins with the Spanish make and seven for Honda. Title dreams in tatters: Having excelled during the first half of the 2017 WTCC season, Monteiro was on course for the title with the Asian leg of the season remaining only to suffer serious head and neck injuries in a testing crash at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in September of that year. It brought an abrupt end to his campaign and left him fearing he’d never race again. Heroic recovery: Monteiro subsequently fought a courageous, albeit arduous battle to regain fitness with his return in Free Practice 1 at WTCR Race of Japan in October 2018 coming 415 days after the accident. He scored a weekend-best P11 on his comeback, his rival drivers marking his return to action by forming a guard of honour before he ventured out on track for the first time. Did you know? Monteiro was set for a life more ordinary had he not discovered a knack for driving, as he explains: “My family is in the hotel business and I went to study hotel management in Switzerland. I loved it and that was the direction I was going to go in. But after I finished my studies I had the opportunity to drive a race car, which I thought maybe I could do as a hobby. But then I got discovered, got some opportunities and made the decision that hotel management could wait and I would go back to it if I wasn’t successful in motorsport.” CAREER SO FAR: 1997: 6, French Porsche Carrera Cup 1998: 12, French Formula 3 Championship 1999: 6 (1 win), French F3 (Dallara-Renault) 2000: 2 (4 wins), French F3 (Dallara-Renault); 2, F3 European Cup and F3 Korean Super Prix 2001: 2 (4 wins), French F3 (Dallara-Renault) 2002: 13 (best result 5), Formula 3000 Championship 2003: 15 (best result 9), Champ Car World Series 2004: 2 (5 wins), World Series by Nissan 2005: 16 (best result 3), Formula One World Championship (Jordan) 2006: (best result 13) F1 (Midland) 2007: 11 (best result 2), World Touring Car Championship (SEAT León) 2008: 12 (2 wins), WTCC (SEAT León TDI)

FIVE FACTS: Forever the winner: Having come agonisingly close to title glory in the two previous seasons, Fulín won the FIA European Touring Car Cup in 2017 during a final-round decider at Most in his native Czech Republic. In doing so, Fulín became the last driver to win the ETCC title. Fantastic fifth: Having made selected World Touring Car Championship appearances in the past alongside his prolific stint in the ETCC, Fulín has competed in TCR International and made a one-off WTCR outing at the Slovakia Ring in 2018, impressing by finishing fifth in the third race of the weekend at the wheel of the previous-generation CUPRA TCR. Making it possible: Fulín is competing at WTCR Race of Slovakia with the support of VEXTA DOMY, one of the largest suppliers of wooden constructions in Czech Republic, plus his country’s ASN, the Automobile Club of Czech Republic (ACCR). Keeping busy, keeping fit: When he’s not competing in the WTCR, Fulín operates the FULLINRACE Academy, a driver coaching service. He also takes part in long-distance races in his homeland and sticks to a rigorous diet and fitness regime. Did you know? FIVE FACTS: Double champion: Girolami is a back-to-back winner of the hugely competitive and highly prestigious Súper TC2000 touring car championship in Argentina, taking the crown in 2014 and again in 2015 having finished runner-up to José María López in 2013. Honda homecoming: ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport’s decision to include Girolami in its 2019 WTCR / OSCARO line-up represents a kind of homecoming for the Argentine. He was Honda-powered for myriad touring car championships between 2010 and 2011, while his FIA World Touring Car Championship debut at the Slovakia Ring in 2015 was in a NIKA International-run Honda Civic WTCC. Strong debut: Girolami impressed from the outset with a point-scoring finish in his first WTCC race. He would score again on his second of two appearances in 2015 when he placed eighth in Race 2 in Vila Real. Victorious for Volvo: After a highly competitive showing on a one-off outing for the Volvo Polestar WTCC team in 2016, Girolami was recruited for its 2017 WTCC attack. But although he didn’t disappoint with victory at WTCC Race of China and helping the make to the Manufacturers’ championship, he looked to his homeland for his 2018 racing fix, competing for PEUGEOT in Súper TC2000 once more. **Grid position for restart; ***DNS prior to disqualification FIVE FACTS: Big in Japan: Coronel enjoyed a lengthy stint in Japan early in his career, winning the country’s Formula 3 and Formula Nippon titles and also achieving success in Super GT. Eager for endurance: As well as contesting the Le Mans 24 Hours 10 times, Coronel took part on his sixth Dakar Rally in January 2019, reaching the finish alongside twin brother Tim. Part of the family: Coronel has raced touring cars since 2001 and took part in the WTCC from 2005-2017, twice winning the WTCC Trophy for independent racers. Good teacher: Before his racing – and business – career took hold, Coronel worked as an instructor at Zandvoort, which helped him to gain an intimate knowledge of the seaside track and played a part in him winning in every category he raced at the famous venue. Did you know? Coronel changed his race number for 2019 with 50 replacing 9 to acknowledge main sponsor DHL’s half-century. His choice for 2020, 31, represents the number of years he’s been racing. FIVE FACTS: Scholarship star: Boldizs won two talent-search scholarships, the second of which enabled him to go racing in a Suzuki Swift in 2014. Ideal training: The one-make Suzuki series in which Boldizs forged his reputation includes fellow WTCR racers Norbert Michelisz and Attila Tassi among is graduates. Indeed, Boldizs race against Tassi and WTCR wildcard podium finisher Dániel Nagy. Proving his potential: Boldizs ultimately secured his seat at Zengő Motorsport for 2020 following an impressive test at the Hungaroring. Team boss Zoltán Zengő commented: “His results from that day were promising. His time was one of the fastest in the car he was driving.” From racing to rallycross: When the team he drove for, George Racing Team, decided to branch out into rallycross, Boldizs followed and finished runner-up in the Hungarian championship in 2019, driving a converted Suzuki Swift, no less. Did you know? Zoltán Zengő refuses to compare Boldizs to Norbert Michelisz, the driver he discovered back in 2005, but did say: “We do not want to compare [Bence] to anyone, but we see the kind of ambition, humility, diligence and passion in Bence that we are looking for.” CAREER SO FAR: 2014: 28, Swift Cup Europe 2015: 9, Hankook Racer Cup (Suzuki Swift S1600) 2016, 2, Hankook Racer Cup (Suzuki Swift S1600) 2017: 2, Hankook Racer Cup (Suzuki Swift S1600) 2019: 2, Hungarian Rallycross Championship (Suzuki Swift S1600)

His mother, Cathy, was a respected single-seater racer in her own right competing in Formula 3 and Formula 3000. Unconventional start: Skipping karts completely, Ehrlacher began racing in the Volkswagen Scirocco Cup in Germany before contesting the Mitjet 2L series with Yvan Muller Racing, winning the French championship in 2014. Success continues: Title success in French Supertourisme followed before Ehrlacher joined the LMP3 ranks in the European Le Mans Series in 2016, driving a Ligier JS P3 for his uncle’s team and winning his class at Estoril. Quick learner: Ehrlacher scored WTCC points on his second weekend in the championship in 2017 and was a winner eight races later, claiming a standout first place for RC Motorsport in Argentina. The following season he scored two wins in WTCR and led the title standings after a highly impressive performance at WTCR Race of Netherlands. Did you know? His father Yves is a former professional footballer who played for Strasbourg, Lens, Bastia and Mulhouse. **Grid position for restart FIVE FACTS: Lights fantastic: Vernay’s once promising single-seater career – he was Red Bull-backed in the Formula 3 Euro Series and came close to winning the Macau Grand Prix from pole in 2009 – took him to the USA in 2010 where he landed the Indy Lights title. Although he tested an IndyCar, he was unable to secure a race seat for 2011. Sportscars of desire: Sportscars would prove a useful – and profitable – distraction for Vernay. He won the Porsche Carrera Cup title in France for Sébastien Loeb Racing in 2012 and claimed a class victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours the following season. He also enjoyed success in the WEC and the Blancpain Endurance Series – and raced in Super GT in Japan. Old and new: While Team WRT has been Vernay’s Home since 2015, his switch to an Audi RS 3 LMS from a Volkswagen Golf for 2018 represented unchartered territory for the Frenchman. But it didn’t take him long to adapt; he won the second race of the inaugural season in Morocco. Big title winner: By claiming the TCR International Series crown in 2017, having finished third the previous season, Vernay joined the WTCR / OSCARO grid in 2018 as a big title winner. He built on his strong reputation with four wins and fifth place in the final standings. Did you know? Luxembourg-based Vernay, who has a degree in communication science and speaks Japanese, is not short of touring car racing experience. Between 2016 and 2017 he managed 48 race starts. When he’s not racing, Vernay co-commentates on Formula One races for French television. **Grid position for restart, ***Raced under appeal FIVE FACTS: In good company: Moving to Europe in 2002 after success in karting and Formula Renault in Argentina, Guerrieri once raced Hamilton, Ricciardo and Vettel in Formula 3. He was also rapid in Formula 3000, World Series by Renault and Indy Lights before budget constraints hit. Opportunity knocks: With opportunities to continue racing without a roof over his head limited, a switch to Argentine Súper 2000 via the Turismo Carretera series provided salvation in 2013. One-off wonder: Following domestic success, Guerrieri made his WTCC debut with a one-off appearance at home in 2016 and set the fastest lap of all during the Termas de Río Hondo weekend. That set plans in motion to race in the WTCC full time in 2017. Dream start: Guerrieri began WTCC 2017 with victory on the Marrakech streets for the privateer Campos team and he triumphed again at Ningbo before he was recruited by the factory Honda team to replace the injured Tiago Monteiro for the final three events of the season. He didn’t disappoint, winning the Qatar finale from pole. He’s been a Honda Racing family member ever since and claimed two WTCR wins in 2018 on his way to third in the final table. Did you know? “When I was five I asked my mother to jump in a go-kart and when I was seven I asked her to change me to a bilingual school because Ayrton Senna said that to be a professional driver you need to know how to manage a computer and how to speak English. Most days when I was 12 or 13, I woke up and would say to my mother I go to school now but when I am asked to race in Europe you let me go. And she said: ‘I will let you go but now you have to go to school’. I already said that before it happened so when it happened, she had to let me go! In fact, I finished my secondary school in 2016. I left the school when I was 15 and I had two years to do and I went back and did it. I like tennis but, in the future, I would like to study marketing or public relations.” CAREER SO FAR: 1994: 2, Metropolitan Karting Championship (Buenos Aires) 50cc 1996: 1, Metropolitan Karting Championship 100cc 1997: 2, Metropolitan Karting Championship 125cc Junior, Won opening round of South American Karting Championship 125cc 2000: 1 (2 wins), Argentinian Formula Renault 1.6 (youngest ever champion aged 15) 2001: European Formula Renault 2.0. 2002: 3 (4 wins), German Formula Renault 2.0; 1 (2 wins) Italian Formula Renault 2.0 Winter Series; 2003: 1 (3 wins) European Formula Renault 2.0; 2 (4 wins) Italian Formula Renault 2.0 2004: 6, International Formula 3000 (tied on points with José María López) 2005: 15, Formula 3 Euroseries 2006: 4 (2 wins), Formula 3 Euroseries; tested Mercedes-Benz DTM car 2007: 13, British Formula 3 Championship 2008: 12, British Formula 3 Championship; 8 (1 win), World Series by Renault 3.5 2009: 6 (2 wins), Superleague Formula 2010: 6 (6 wins), World Series by Renault 3.5; 3, Buenos Aires 200 Kilometres

And he’s been a winner in all those disciplines too, and established a glowing reputation as a driver coach. Been here before (kind of): While the 2019 season marked Catsburg’s first campaign in WTCR / OSCARO, he’s no stranger to FIA World Touring Car racing with 58 starts – and two victories – in the WTCC to his name. Sensational start: And it was a sensational start to life in the WTCC when he finished fourth in only his second race at the wheel of a factory LADA Vesta at the Moscow Raceway midway through the 2015 season. Busy year: Catsburg’s 2019 programme also included campaigns in the FIA World Endurance Championship and Intercontinental GT Challenge as a member of the factory BMW squad. Did you know? FIVE FACTS: Third-generation racer: Not only did Gruber’s father race, his grandfather also spent time behind the wheel. Perfect start: Gruber won on his ADAC TCR Germany, taking victory at the Lausitzring in August 2020, a result that helped to convince Engstler Hyundai N Liqui Moly Racing Team that he was the right driver to replace Nicky Catsburg at WTCR Race of Germany. Hungaroring help at hand: “I was driving in Formula Renault at the Hungaroring last year and I really love this track. It has a good design but it’s hard for sure.” Karting success: Gruber enjoyed considerable success in karting, especially across the border in Germany where he claimed the Junior and 125 KZ2 titles. Did you know? Gruber moved to the UK to make his car racing debut, competing in the BRSCC National Formula Ford 1600 series and winning the Rookie title. FIVE FACTS: Big dream: “I am nearly 44 years old and I will make my debut in WTCR. I think that my example shows it’s never too late if you have a big dream.” Big experience: “I have raced every year for 20 years, mainly doing endurance races so I am more an endurance driver. But in the last couple of years I started to do the FIA CEZ Championship in the [CUPRA TCR] and I learned a lot in the last couple of years, how to handle this type of car.” Motorsport a passion: “For me, it’s a passion. Also, I have a company that is working in the racing business as an exclusive dealer. I am spending my time next to the circuit let’s say. That’s my life, beside my family motorsport is always there, my second love.” Keeping fit: “I was doing sport my whole years. I was an ice hockey player when I was young. Then I played tennis and many, many different sports. I am playing tennis twice a week minimum and there is a Fit4Race programme in Hungary that one of my friends is doing. It’s a special practice for racing. I am doing this as well and it’s quite helpful. In the last couple of years, it is helping me a lot to be more focused during the races. Usually three or four times a week I am doing sports activities.” Did you know? Kismarty-Lechner, who has also competed in rallycross and hillclimb events, used to race against Norbert Michelisz in the Hungarian Suzuki Cup. In more recent times he came up against Bence Boldizs and Attila Tassi. CAREER SUMMARY: “I started racing nearly 20 years ago and I was racing only with Zengő Motorsport since then. I started with a Suzuki Swift and finally won this category five years ago. Besides the Suzuki 12 years ago we started to do 24-hour races with my team-mates. Until now I did more than 10 races and have three podiums. In 2016 I started to use a SEAT race car in the Hungarian championship, and in the very first year we became the champion with my team-mate Csaba Tóth in the Endurance category. Three years ago we won the FIA-CEZ Championship with the same car in TC-3500 category. All together I have six Hungarian titles in different categories and the FIA-CEZ champion title. Last year I tried rallycross and I have finished in the Hankook Racer Cup category in the third place, right behind my team-mate Bence Boldizs.”

**Grid position for restart FIVE FACTS: Best of the best: With more titles (four), wins (48), poles (29), fastest laps (38) and laps led (571), Muller is the most successful driver in FIA World Touring Car Championship history. A family affair: Muller followed in the wheel tracks of older sister Cathy by going racing, while her son and his nephew, Yann Ehrlacher, is his Lynk & Co-powered team-mate in WTCR. Ice is not always nice: After making it 10 titles in the Andros Trophy ice racing series, Muller was effectively banned for continuing in the series he’d dominated for many winters. Mr Versatile: As well as being an accomplished circuit racer – he took the British F2 crown in 1992 – Muller’s CV also lists Dakar and World Rally Championship outings, while his touring car career has included stints in France, Germany, Italy and the UK. Did you know? Had he not tried motorsport for size Muller admits he would have joined the family haulage business, meaning trucking’s loss was very much touring car racing’s gain.
