Just then there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God.” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him. They were all amazed, and they kept on asking one another, “What is this? A new teaching—with authority! Jesús y sus discípulos llegaron a Cafarnaúm, y en el sábado Jesús entró en la sinagoga y comenzó a enseñar. Prayer of Thanksgiving Celebrant Generous and loving God, you created us for abundant life. We give thanks, in the midst of this time of global pandemic, for the blessings you have bestowed upon us. We give thanks for the community of St. Luke’s that has nurtured, challenged, formed, and sustained us. We give thanks for the lay and ordained leaders who have offered pathways for worship, formation, fellowship, service, and activism. And most all, we give thanks for the generous provision of financial resources to support the operations and expenses of our parish, and our charitable and outreach ministries on behalf of those in greatest need.

Oración de Agradecimiento Celebrante Dios generoso y amoroso, nos creaste para tener una vida abundante. Damos gracias, en medio de este tiempo de pandemia mundial, por las bendiciones que nos han otorgado. Damos gracias por la comunidad de San Lucas que nos ha nutrido, desafiado, formado y sostenido. During these days when so much is limited and lost, we give thanks that, through the life of this parish, we are both givers and receivers of your abundant grace. We give thanks that, by your grace, we are the body of Christ here and now. And, while we long to gather for Holy Communion in our newly renovated sacred space, and find fellowship in our welcoming Parish Hall, we rejoice that we are united as your church, and abundantly blessed as your holy people.
