WelcomeWe are very glad to have you worshiping our gracious God with us today.

Flowers The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God.

To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org.

Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An elder will be standing next to the pastor following the service.

Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Several kiosks are available in the Welcome Center. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available if you need assistance checking in.

Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-k through fourth grade during the morning services. A leader will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Parents of children in pre-k through second grade are asked to pick up their children following Sunday School or the 11 a.m. worship service.

Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We also provide a Mother/Infant Room located beside Nursery 1 which is equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.

Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.

As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

†The Call to Worship ................................................................................ Isaiah 55:1-6

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.

Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy?

Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.

Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live. Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.

The Lord be with you.And with your spirit.Let us worship God!

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you.My soul thirsts for you, and my flesh yearns for youIn a dry and weary land where there is no water.I remember you at night through the watches of the night. In the shadow of your wings I sing because you help me.My soul clings to you, and your hand upholds me.You alone.

†The Invocation (Please lift hands)

†Gloria Patri ............................................................................................... Greatorex

†The Confession of Faith ..........................................The Belgic Confession, Article 20

We believe that God—who is perfectly merciful and also very just—sent his Son to assume the nature in which the disobedience had been committed, in order to bear in it the punishment of sin by his most bitter passion and death. So God made known his justice toward his Son, who was charged with our sin, and he poured out his goodness and mercy on us, who are guilty and worthy of damnation, giving to us his Son to die, by a most perfect love, and raising him to life for our justification, in order that by him we might have immortality and eternal life.

The Personal Confession of Sin (Please kneel if able to do so)

The Corporate Confession of SinHeavenly Father, we acknowledge you as the God who delights to give good gifts to his children, yet we confess that we often treat you as irrelevant to our lives. We are slow to seek you in prayer, weak in perseverance, and plagued with low expectations of what you can do in and through us. Forgive us for our doubting. Forgive us for our neglect of you. Forgive us for not believing that you delight to answer the prayers of your people. We pray in the name of Jesus, your greatest gift. Amen.

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace ........................................................Isaiah 55:6, 7Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts.Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

Evening Prayers

Offertory—O God, Be Merciful to Me ............................................... Medley/Wright

© 2013 Cahaba Park Music

To thee I come, a sinner poorAnd wait for mercy at thy doorIndeed, I’ve nowhere else to fleeO God, be merciful to me

To thee I come, a sinner weakAnd scarce know how to pray or speakFrom fear and weakness set me freeO God, be merciful to me

Hear, gracious God, a sinner’s cryFor I have nowhere else to flyMy hope, my only hope’s in theeO God, be merciful to me

To thee I come, a sinner greatAnd well thou knowest all my stateYet full forgiveness is with theeO God, be merciful to me

To glory bring me, Lord, at lastAnd there, when all my fears are pastWith all thy saints I’ll then agreeGod has been merciful to meGod has been merciful to me
