Thursday Masses at 8 AM & 7 PM
All the feast days of Mary mark the great
mysteries of her life and her part in the
work of redemption. The Assumption is
God's crowning of His work as Mary ends
her earthly life and enters eternity. The
feast turns our eyes in that direction, where
we will follow when our earthly life is over.

Thank you for be ing a part o f our pari sh family!
This week, on Thursday, we celebrate
the Solemnity of the Assumption of
Mary. Members of the Greek Ortho-
dox Church have referred to this feast
day as “Summer Easter” because it is
the highest celebration in the summer.
We love Mary because, as St. Louis-
Marie de Montfort wrote, “She is an echo of God, speaking
and repeating only God. If you say ‘Mary’ she says ‘God.’ ”
In fact, everything that we have is to be an “echo of God” –
it comes to us from God and we are to return it to God.
What are some of the best sounds of summer – the crack of
a baseball bat, the sizzle of the grill, crickets, the crackle of a
campfire, thunderstorms? Imagine the beautiful sound that is
heard in heaven when you “echo” something back to God.
Like Mary, give everything joyfully back to God.

It has come to our attention that once
again someone has set up fraudulent
Gmail accounts claiming to be from
Fr. Zehren. These emails ask for “a favor”
from you. This is a scam. Do not respond to
the emails and instead simply delete them.
In the event that you did respond, you will
likely receive a follow-up request asking for you to purchase and
send gift cards. Again, just delete the email. These emails are
not coming from our saintvdp.org accounts.
