Overview of WWT Lab Services Engagement Models and MethodologyWWT’s approach to lab services focuses on the lifecycle of a lab engagement and organizes engagements based on the level of customization. For all levels of customization and across each type of use case, WWT applies a lab services methodology that produces results in a manner that is controlled, organized, focused, transparent and innovative.
ENGAGEMENT MODELSIn order to make lab services engagements seamless and consistent, WWT focuses on three levels of customization.
ON DEMAND
The on-demand environments in the ATC provide customers with first-hand exposure to technology in order to validate design and configuration options, demo standalone products and integrated solutions and perform hands-on training exercises. Sandboxes allow customer teams to configure, break, fix, test and explore the results of any design iteration or other changes.
PROOF OF CONCEPT
WWT provides Proof of Concept (POC) environments that enable customers to evaluate investments, upgrades or innovations and determine if they will positively affect the organization and achieve desired business objectives. POCs use infrastructure from the ATC’s pre-built environments as well as equipment from strategic partners and OEMs.
LAB AS A SERVICE
WWT’s LaaS offering is typically employed to provide dedicated lab resources within the ATC, built to suit customer performance, security and access requirements. LaaS provides resources for rapid prototyping and provisioning of multi OEM topologies for evaluation, testing and POCs.
METHODOLOGYLab engagements begin with technical discovery and the development of a Bill of Materials (BOM), High-Level Design (HLD) and test plan. This information is used to create a lab request, and an ATC project manager is assigned. The PM conducts a lab engagement kick-off meeting, which assigns tasks including scoping, the collection of important details and resource identification.
After all information and resources are in place, the lab build phase occurs, followed by execution of the test plan. Test results, reporting and documentation are then developed and presented to the customer.

SECURITY TRANSFORMATIONWWT approaches security transformation using every component of an enterprise security posture: security architecture, endpoint protection, next-generation firewall platform, identity and access management and enterprise segmentation.
SECURITY ARCHITECTURESecurity Architecture is an integrated design showing the services and capabilities needed to deliver security controls and reduce risk for an organization. Taking this type of wholistic approach to security will help connect business goals and objectives to technical solutions providing more effective outcomes while aligning with overall enterprise architecture efforts.
OUR CORE CAPABILITIES:
ABOUT THE WWT SECURITY PRACTICE
Our industry-certified security professionals include former CISOs, CIOs, security analysts, architects and engineers.
First we focus on understanding our customers’ use cases. Then, we test scenarios in our Advanced Technology Center (ATC) through which we can quickly replicate customer environments. NGFW PLATFORMWWT transforms traditional firewall solutions to more centrally managed and visible security platforms that can consistently protect against threats. Our goal is to streamline the design, implementation, management and evolution of NGFW platform architecture to establish security awareness, optimize defense capabilities, improve threat response, mitigate breaches and close compliance gaps.
OUR CORE CAPABILITIES: Cloud/Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Encryption, Enterprise Segmentation, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Next-Gen Firewall (NGFW)/Platform, Threat/Sandbox
SECURING ENDPOINTS Despite all the effort and resources that organizations invest in traditional information security approaches, they still fall prey to cyber threats, or they find that they are unprepared to manage the rapidly blurring boundaries of the enterprise’s perimeter. With the widespread acceptance of portable devices, the old notion of a “moat” around a company’s perimeter is gone. The endpoint is the new perimeter and the target of every attack.
OUR CORE CAPABILITIES: AV/NGAV, IR/Forensics, Operational Management, DLP/Encryption, Host FW/IPS, Browser Isolation
ENTERPRISE SEGMENTATIONWhile flat networks provide easy access to critical information, they also lack protection for your systems and data. Enterprise segmentation helps address this weakness. It provides more protection for your enterprise once an attacker is inside and matures your architecture to a higher level of cybersecurity capability.
OUR CORE CAPABILITIES: Strategic roadmaps, reference architectures, solution design/selection, implementation services
IDENTITY & ACCESS MANAGEMENTWWT’s goal is to streamline authentication and access for better employee experience and greater control of organizational data and systems. Managing identities continues to be a top priority for most organizations. Our Identity and Access Team helps simplify the complex, provide scalable architecture, strategic roadmaps, and implement solutions that define access based on security requirements of each resource and classification of data.

AGILE TRANSFORMATIONWWT PROVIDES COACHING AND TRAINING AIMED AT IMPROVING
ORGANIZATIONS’ ABILITY TO DEVELOP, TEST AND SUPPORT
APPLICATION SOFTWARE.
Agile development helps organizations strengthen best practices related to the analysis and design of highly complex or business-critical applications. WWT offers Agile transformation projects for customer development teams that instruct on the application of Agile techniques and provide training on how to use Agile development methodology to support the delivery of projects.
AGILE TRAINING AND ASSESSMENTAgile training seeks to help organizations improve software development and delivery, beginning with an assessment of existing practices, such as team retrospectives and stand-ups. After the assessment, Agile trainers provide guidance to customer teams and staff on how to increase the value and benefits from these existing activities.
AGILE PRACTICESOrganizations often benefit from the introduction of relevant practices such as Kanban, which promotes the completion of work in less time by limiting work in progress. Additionally, the practice of Pair Programming can be explored as a way to promote teamwork and enable all team members to have a better understanding of the entire overall software development effort.
AGILE ORGANIZATIONEfforts to promote shared understanding of a team’s code base provide significant dividends, as customer team members can change between development teams without impacting a team’s ability to update code. This enables the periodic movement of team members between teams and projects, which can be highly motivating.

ATC CONNECTWhen we created our ATC Connect mobile app, we wanted to increase customer and partner engagement with the WWT Advanced Technology Center (ATC) ecosystem. Specifically, we wanted customers and partners to regularly interact with the ATC Portal, the technology center’s virtual gateway that allows users to access more than 1,000 ATC capabilities on demand from anywhere in the world.
As we began envisioning the app, we kept returning to our most engaging in-person customer experience: our executive briefings, or EBCs. We determined EBCs would be the perfect entry point for adoption of ATC Connect.
DIGITIZE THE BUSINESS PROCESSTo digitize the EBC experience, we first had to digitize backend manual business processes. EBC planners were coordinating with account managers via email and phone, managing paper agendas and updating key systems like Salesforce.com. A custom application could allow us to scale and optimize this process as well as open the door to gather analytics related to the interests of our customers and partners.
INITIATED THROUGH IDEATION; DELIVERED THROUGH AGILEWe began by facilitating interactive brainstorming sessions that included members of WWT’s executive, marketing and technology teams and developers from WWT Asynchrony Labs. Having these perspectives in one room allowed us to uncover new ways to improve the customer experience while maintaining an understanding of what was possible in the given timeframe.
A team across lines of business and technology domains organized to deliver value through short development iterations, focused on items identified as having the highest priority while multiple product teams worked toward a shared vision.
ENABLING A SIMPLE USER EXPERIENCE THROUGH COMPLEX INTEGRATIONSAchieving a simple, engaging mobile experience required significant back-end system integration and development of a complementary EBC planning application. Integrations included Salesforce.com APIs for accounts, contacts and campaigns, corporate security architecture, identity management and WordPress. Unifying the data sets across these systems allowed for secure yet simple registration, login and content personalization. We worked seamlessly with each of these systems and collaborated with required teams to create a scalable, reliable, highly integrated and automated process that met line-of-business demands.
