MAKE LIFE-CHANGING IMPACT
Parampreet Singh returned to India in 2012 and launched his company Uday. Uday offers short, skills-based courses and is enabling those least able to access training opportunities – young people, farmers and women – to gain marketable skills. To date, Uday has helped over 8000 young people receive formal training and qualifications to provide them with opportunities to find work.
SKILLING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
Inspired by her work in the aged care and disability sectors, and her determination to empower people with mobility challenges, Chelsea Xu took her A-Tech-You proposal to design and manufacture 3D-printed tables for wheelchairs to the Big Idea competition and won. The proposal sees the development of a not-for-profit organisation that offers free training in auto-CAD design to boost employability for local people, and supports people with disabilities to be involved in the growth of the project.
PASSION FOR GETTING INVOLVED
Apart from starting a sole proprietorship, Prowise Impact, Shirley Boon volunteers as a project consultant to social advocate Elvis Martin, an Ambassador for the National Youth Commission Australia and R U OK, a suicide prevention charity. All these and more has led to her being recognised as a finalist for International Student of the Year 2018 by the Victorian International Education Awards.

FASTEST GROWING RESEARCH FACILITY
Our academics and research students work with community, industry and end users to understand problems and uncover solutions that are innovative, sustainable and accessible.
IMPROVING QUANTITY AND QUALITY OF FRUITA research team, led by CQUniversity’s Professor Kerry Walsh, has been working in collaboration with fruit growers, horticultural industry bodies and technology solution providers to develop technologies to help farmers assess crop productivity and fruit quality. This has enabled mango producers to more strategically plan the harvest of crops, improving the planning of harvest labour and supply chain logistics.
DRESSING UP TECH TO SWITCH GIRLS ONTO STEMThere is a challenge to attract and retain women within this field. Education researchers form CQUniversity’s Centre for Regional Advancement of Learning, Equity, Access and Participation coordinated the delivery of a STEM education program and research project, aimed at engaging girls in the early years of high school. By combining STEM principles in the areas of design and technology, with fashion and art, young women are reengaging with STEM and improving their skills and understanding of where STEM can take them.

DRIVING IMPROVEMENT IN RAIL VEHICLE DRAFT GEARSSenior Research Officer Dr Qing Wu and the team at CQUniversity’s Centre for Railway Engineering has been researching the use of supercomputing for the optimisation of rail vehicle draft gears to improve design and increase service life and capability, while reducing vehicle mass and train energy use. It is imperative that transporting key commodities such as iron and ore is efficient. Using the super computers at CQUniversity, the team can now finish simulations in a few weeks that would have once taken decades. The team has already produced optimised draft gear designs.

» Fees are indicative only and do not cover additional costs such as textbooks, accommodation, visa applications, OSHC, general living etc.
» The final fee payable will be determined by your selection of units and if any credit was awarded for recognition of prior learning.
» The University reserves the right to amend fees at any time during the course. Fees are reviewed annually and may increase in the following year to enable CQUniversity to continue to provide quality services and facilities to students.
» Courses are subject to change at the discretion of the University.
» It is your responsibility to make yourself aware of the entry requirements and prerequisites of the courses you wish to undertake.
» The typical annual fee shown provides an estimate of the tuition fees for the first year of the course in 2019. This estimate assumes a full-time study load.
» The typical total course fee shown provides an estimate of the tuition fees for the whole course. This estimate is based on typical unit enrolments in each year of the course, with indexation of the 2019 international undergraduate subject fees at six per cent per annum for every additional year of study after 2019 (for students commencing in 2019). The amount shown assumes students complete no more than the course duration indicated.
» International students can only undertake courses online from an overseas location.
» Courses undertaken online may be studied on a full-time or part-time mode.
» International students studying on-campus in Australia may only take online education, and this option cannot be taken in its entirety during a compulsory term (Term 1 and Term 2).
