/10Stars such as 1966 World Cup winner (1)__________ and skilful playmaker Dave
Gibson formed the impressive side. But perhaps one of our most famous players is
(2)__________, now a Match of the Day presenter who, when we won the league, wore
only his (3)__________ on TV. He played for us in the late ‘70s to early ‘80s and scored
a whopping (4)__________ goals, so it’s no wonder he’s a Leicester legend! He left to
play for Everton in 1985, but the Leicester City glory days were still to come: Martin
O’Neill took over in December of (5)__________ and the Foxes gained promotion that
year through the play-offs to the Premier League. Four successive top-10 finishes and
(6)__________ League Cups meant it was a pretty good time to be a Fox. City left
Filbert Street in 2002 to their new ground (7)__________ (now known as King Power
Stadium), but the years that followed were pretty bad. In 2008 Leicester City were
relegated to League 1 under (8)__________ . But all was not lost: the appointment of
Nigel Pearson as manager proved to be a very good decision. He took City back up
to the Championship, and in 2010 our new owners (9)__________ took over. Come May
(10)__________ and the Foxes claimed the title and promotion to the Premier League.
