VBS
July
26-29
A Note
from Jim
Good morning, church! I write this on a beautiful, cool, sunny morning, and wish we could
all sit around a really big table and have our coffee, tea, water, etc together this morning.
I want to give you an update on a couple things. We will be having a VBS this year that is
mission focused called "Mission to Myanmar". It will run July 26-28, and we will need folks
to help out. Stay tuned for opportunities to plug into this ministry!
The Children's Ministry Team is working diligently as they evaluate space, place, time, and
curriculum, so please keep them in your prayers!
Bridge Builders Men's Ministry is very active on many different fronts - there are many
different ways to connect with that ministry, and I want to encourage you male folks out there
to jump in to that!
We are making some transitions, to maximize our involvement and integration of all of the
gifts God has placed in our church. These are good things, there are many good movements
happening right now at TSCC. We are working on getting better structure in place to handle
the additional movement, and that will take some time, so please bear with us all in that.
Finally - with a lot of movement, there are some hiccups, usually in the area of
communications. These hiccups aren't cause for great alarm or massive frustration, but they
can give us some logistical fits. If you are a ministry leader, make sure you are
communicating with the office about your needs, events, opportunities for involvement, usage
of building space, etc, so that we can keep people and other ministries informed, as well - our
resources in the church are shared, which is a good thing, we just don't want to find ourselves
tugging on opposite ends of a resource and not being able to figure out why it won't
budge. And we want to insure that our people know about the opportunities your ministry is
creating for glorifying God and spreading the gospel of Christ!
Enjoy your coffee, and have a great day!
Your brother in Christ,
Jim
Monday, June 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the TSCC Resource Center
If you have matters you wish to discuss with the elders, or want to have discussed by
the elders, please let Jim know by Monday, June 4th. The meeting agenda will then be
published by the following Sunday and posted to the bulletin board in the rear of the
auditorium.
I have been spending the majority of my time since the start of 2018 outside the office,
making me flexible for meetings, allowing me to study in public places that afford me
gospel opportunities, and keep my head where it needs to be. That being said, some have
asked if I would consider keeping regular office hours for drop-in, spontaneous meetings.
So I have come up with the following where I will commit to be in the office: Tuesday,
9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., and Thursday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. If I need to deviate from that, I will
insure the office staff knows how to contact me wherever I would be.
