Workshop Three - Values & Balance

    What truly matters to me?

Without identiying those things that matter to us most, it is impossible to

eectively navigate our lie and leadership journeys. Through a combination o

group discussion and personal reection, participants begin to recognise and

prioritise the lie areas (both work-related and personal) that matter most.

    Life Balance

Participants use the Work/Lie Balance Circle to explore their own balance in

relation to their core values. The Work/Lie Balance Circle is a sel-assesment tool

that addresses eight common areas, including personal well-being, amily and

    home, and sel development.

Workshop Four - The Leadership Journey

    Leading with Integrity

The Leading with Integrity session builds on the Values and Balance workshop.

Participants look closely at their own values and how their actions - both in their

work and personal lives - align or diverge rom their core values. The session

encourages honest sel-reection on the ways we are living our lives.

    Navigating my leadership journey

This session helps participants to unpack some o the strategies and key steps

towards realising their leadership goals. The ocus is on the need to make a

conscious choice to remain aligned with ones core values and use it to inspire

    others to action.

    Personal Mission Statement

The workshops culminate in the development o a personal mission statement.

This statement helps participants to remain aligned and ocused as they

    navigate their leadership journey.

    Action Plans andMission Statements

    Throughout the program,

    particpants employ the SMART

    Goal methodology to generate

    Development Action Plans. This

    process assists participants to

    operationalise key learnings and

    goals.

    The workshops culminate in the

    development o a Personal Mission

Statement - designed to distill the

value rom the previous 12 weeks

into a personalised charter or uture

    reection and direction.

    Participant Journals

    Throughout the program

    participants maintain a personal

    journal. This enables participants

to track their progress in relation

    to their Development Action Plans.

    Also, it encorages participants

    to capture new insights and

    understandings to support their

    ongoing leadership journey.

    Program Rationale

Extensive research and development by the WLA has resulted in the unique

leadership development + peer supportmodel that underpins the Womens

    Leadership Alliance.

By establishing the group as a peer network, a sae and supportive environment

is created or exploring ones developmental strengths and needs. WLA research

revealed a strong preerence or this style o peer engagement in the learning

    setting.

Understanding ones sel is at the

    heart o excellent leadership. The

    AWLFs leadership benchmarking

    research identifes high emotional

    intelligence and sel-awareness as

    common traits among successul

    leaders.

    Environmental awareness, or

    (more specifcally) understanding

    how one interacts within their

    social contexts, is another key

    theme throughout the Womens

Leadership Alliance. Research revealed strong demand or urther development in

areas such as communication, group dynamics and managing conict.

One o the most telling outcomes rom the WLAs research was the high need

among emale leaders or a sense o genuine alignment between personal values

and action. In response to those fndings, the Values and Balance workshop was

designed. This workshop occurs prior to the development o personal mission

statements and ensures that participants have thought deeply about how their

own values eect their perormance as leaders.
