WOMEN IN THE CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE 2018
The California State Legislature first convened in 1849. Women gained the right to vote in California via State Constitutional Amendment No. 8 (Proposition 4) in 1911, and at the federal level via the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which was ratified in 1920.
It was in 1918 that the first women were elected to the California State Legislature.
Legislators are listed by year of election, alphabetically.
