Woman hit with rioting charge in St. Paul Taco Bell assaults

A second woman has been charged in an assault at a St. Paul Taco Bell that started with a disputeover a food order, during which one customer was reportedly hit with a tire iron and another wasjumped in the parking lot.

Krystynn Shirelle Mems-Collins, 26, of St. Paul threw a chair over the counter at employees andpunched two customers, according to a criminal complaint charging her with third-degree riot andfifth-degree assault.

Laresha Marie Uting, 24, of St. Paul was charged Friday with one felony count of second-degree riotwith a dangerous weapon.

A third suspect, identified in a criminal complaint as "Guns," has not been charged. But St. Paulpolice Monday arrested one Joe Willie Ross of St. Paul in the incident.

Ross had not been charged as of Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred about 9 p.m. May 26 at the Taco Bell near White Bear and Nevada avenues inthe Greater East Side neighborhood.

According to criminal complaints, Mems-Collins, Uting and a male ordered food at the drive-throughand came into the restaurant to complain that their order was wrong.

They were allegedly belligerent and swearing at employees, so a regular customer -- a 15-year-oldboy identified as N.S. -- tried to intervene. They argued and the three left the restaurant, butreturned moments later.

said.

Then she and her friends turned on the boy.

Uting had retrieved a tire iron from her car in the parking lot, which she gave to the male, identifiedas "Guns," who used it to hit the boy in the head. Mems-Collins then punched the boy, the complaintsaid.

When the three left Taco Bell, Mems-Collins and her male acquaintance allegedly attacked acustomer entering the restaurant.

Mems-Collins has her first court appearance Wednesday morning. Uting has a hearing June 29.
