WJW-WJT Families-
It's hard to believe, but we are entering the last week of the regular season. It seems like just yesterday that I
was writing that we were about to begin. Thank you to everyone that has helped to make this another success-
ful season of WJW/WJT football and cheer.
We have been blessed with some remarkable weather to date. Although we experienced some delays last
weekend, once we got the games started, the weather broke and it turned out to be a beautiful day for
football. With any luck, the next few weeks will continue the trend and we won't have to battle the cold and
rain that typically comes with fall football. Next weekend will mark the first weekend of the playoffs, with the
championship games slated for the following weekend in Victor. Don't make plans...as we are hoping to see a
heavy Webster presence taking over the field in Victor!
We have several football teams that are in the hunt for a playoff spot, with final standings to be determined
by the results of this weekend's games. The boys have done an incredible job all season and the progress that
they have made should be a source of great pride to themselves, and their parents!
Our cheerleaders had their first competition of the year last weekend at RIT. Each squad did an amazing job
and I was extremely impressed with the routines that they had worked so hard to perfect. More important
than any result is the smile that I saw on each girl's face as they exited the mats...and the fun that they had
while competing. Great job to all of you...keep it up this weekend at our Cheer for Charity competition!
Thank you once again to all of the players, cheerleaders, parents, coaches, volunteers, and Board members
that have worked so hard and given so much to the program this season to make everything run smoothly. It
has been a pleasure to see everyone working together to make it happen!
Best of luck to all of our cheerleaders and football players this weekend!
Go Webster!

ly. Winners are announced at the Banquet in November. Please click here to nominate a de-

2013 WJW-WJT Banquet Information
This year’s banquet is on Saturday, November 23rd, at the Rochester Radisson in downtown Rochester. For those of you who are new to the program, it is a night for Tackle teams and A, B,
C Cheer teams to celebrate the season. It is a very large event, with last year’s attendance at over 900! The players and cheerleaders attend at no charge, and tickets will go on sale on-
line for family members soon. There is a buffet dinner, a slide show, break-out rooms providing special time with your teams with presentation of trophies, a DJ, a huge Raffle, and more! It is a
lot of fun for all, and most importantly, the kids love it!! It will be important to get your tickets early; no tickets will be sold at the door. We hope to see you all there!
Going PINK? October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month The AYFCL is again supporting a Pink look throughout October, which is Breast Cancer
Awareness Month. Many team members may choose to wear pink to show support– pink socks, pink shoelaces, pink under armour, pink football gloves...

AYFCL Update It is the time of year that AYFCL re-evaluates league rules. The changes in the ages and weights that
occurred two years ago were intended to be a two-year trial, and as such are currently under review
by the league. Any changes made by the league would be announced prior to 2014 registration.

Attention parents:
Please have your girls at practice every night! It is imperative that we have an
entire team practicing. If your child is not at practice, the entire team loses out
on valuable practice time! Let's get ready...for competition! Woo-Hoo!
Thank you, Lori

Challenger Bowl 2013: October 26, 2013 The SEPTA (Special Education Parent Teacher Association) hosts a flag football league each
year for special needs kids of the Webster CSD. This year they have 32 participants in their program. WJW/WJT will once again host our annual Challenger Bowl which has become a
Super Bowl type culmination to their flag football season and for many of us, it is our favorite event that we do as an organization each year. We would love to have as many football
players come out wearing their jer-seys and cheerleaders on the side-
lines in their uniforms showing their support of this game and these
great players. Many of our coaches will be suiting up as referees for this
game and we will put on our full blown WJW/WJT game day experi-
ence (announcer, music, scoreboard, cheerleaders, etc.).
We do need a few volunteers to
help with concessions that morning (set up, working booth, tear down) and a
few other jobs to help make this day a success. We will be done by noon
at the latest. Please email Brian Ben-edict at [email protected]
if you would be able to help. It is tru-ly a very rewarding event and a
great day to show our kids how fun and enjoyable it is to give back to
the community (yes, kids working be-side their parents is encouraged).

AYFCL Code of Conduct Each Parent / Legal Guardian signed this Pledge:
I understand that the game and events are for the children, not the adults.
I will encourage good sportsmanship. I will set an example by demonstrating good sportsmanship and posi-
tive support for all players, coaches, officials, board members, and other adults at all AYFCL functions
(This includes practices, games, and other events).
I will provide support for coaches and AYFCL staff working with my child to provide an enjoyable experience
for all.
I will demand a drug, alcohol, and tobacco free sports environment for my child and agree to refrain from
their use at AYFCL events.
I will require that my child treat other players, coaches, officials, and adults with respect.
I will treat other players, coaches, officials, and adults with respect.
I will require and assume responsibility for my child treating assigned equipment with care. I will assume the
financial responsibility for all lost or damaged equipment
I will abide by the AYFCL and organization rules and regulations.
No persons other than players, coaches, medics, or AYFCL officials are allowed on the field. There are no
exceptions to this. All game filming must be done outside the sectioned off area.
I will refrain from coaching my child from the spectators area, as I understand that there will be no non-
certified coaching allowed.
The WJW-WJT Program strives at being the best in providing a positive Sportsman-
ship Environment for our players. Our program is bigger than any one player, coach
or spectator. Each of us is a steward of our entire organization. Positive Sportsman-
ship means we encourage members of both teams, we keep all comments positive, and
we leave coaching to the coaches. This is youth sports, not the NFL. Criticizing, disre-
specting or heckling the officials, coaches or opponents will not be tolerated at all. The
same goes for abusive language. You are respons ible for family members and
friends attending the games. Help make this a positive and
fun experience for all! Be the role model of Sportsmanship!
