Lets be honest, writing film previews without seeing the film is a bit of a bloody guess. So heres my round up of May. The opinions contained in these previews are my own and might be utter bollocks. But in reality we choose to go see a film based on trailers, the odd

poster and word of mouth. So I have done the leg work for you this month and heres a few that I like the look of. Any studio execs reading? Feel free to send Wireless a preview DVD so we can write an accurate preview/ flog it down the pub.

Sacha Baron Cohen returns in the heroic story of a dictator who risks his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed. Yes please!

A clever satirical look at the long strained relationship between Cuba and the United States. A U.S. sponsored Zombie

invasion threatens H a v a n a and its up to a Latin version of Simon Pegg

( J u an) to stop it. The f i l m successfully mocks the politics of both the Castro regime and the U.S. simultaneously. If you have never read a History book its a funny Zomcom, for the rest of you its a bloody clever funny Zomcom.

Mel Gibson takes a break from his drunken disorderly anti-semitic rants to return to his bread and butter. A bit like Falling down takes a field trip to Mexico. Expect Sombreros, grenades and police chases. Fans of Payback and Lethal Weapon will be in for a treat. Fans of the Passion and Apocalypto can expect... oh hang on, this applies to no one. Gibson back to his best

as a zany violent lunatic. Come to think of it, in all his good films he plays a zany violent lunatic. Does this count as acting?

Welsh Director Gareth Evans returns to the martial arts genre with what is tipped to be the action film of the year. Theres a very simple premise, 20 elite Indonesian SWAT cops must take down a

mobster boss. To do this the cops must fight their way floor by floor up a heavily defended 30 floor tenement block. Recon they will all make it out alive for Buds and Buffalo wings? No nonsense, just action, if youre a fan of the genre you do not want to miss this one.

29th May @ The Cluny As ifnaming your band after anunpronounceable symbol producedby the stated keyboard commandwasn't avant-garde enough, Alt-Jproduce surprisingly catchyeletro-folk tunes.

14th May @ Head of Steam -Fresh faced happy poppy indie tunes. Imagine Suedebeing lovingly molested by the Honey Monster. Itsounds like that. Its the kind of music you couldhave a 90's American pool party to...

24th May @ 02 Academy Gary Numan'slive shows are generally quite good but theelectro-innovator is notorious for refusing toplay old classics. Just don't shout for 'Cars'.

23rd May @ Metro Radio Arena G'n'R are a pretty divisive band but there's onething that fans and non-fans can agree on. Namely, that Axl Rose is a fat asshole.

14th May @ Fibbers -Bob Log is a one man psycho bluesband who plays drums with his feetand is perhaps one of the fastestguitarists on the planet. Becauseof the space helmet he wears at alltimes there isn't that muchevidence to suggest he's even human.

9th May @ The Duchess Brilliantangular indie band, awesome live. Definitely wortha watch.

7th May @ The Duchess Scotchrockers of yesteryear Glasvegas aren't enjoying asmuch limelight as they used to. They ripped off theJesus And Mary Chain a bit but then again whohasn't?

1st June @ The Duchess Theelectro-rock duo who scored a big hit with'Dominoes' back in 2009 (yes it's been that longalready) are back and we couldn't give a flyingdonkeys gonad.
