Promoted Listings is eBay's paid search service. It is run by eBay Advertising. Above standard sellers qualify to participate. Using Promoted Listings boosts qualified single and multi quantity listings in eBay search.

Next Step - Name : When setting up your Campaigns in Promoted Listings, NAME THEM.

This helps you know what the Campaign is all about. For instance label your campaign Men’s Shirts, Women’s Clothing, Collectibles etc

You can easily change the name of the Campaign. Just click the name and edit. eBay recommends not setting an end date.

RATE : Choosing and using eBay’s Suggested Rate is recommended for successful Promoted Listings Campaigns. Also, you can select to go above or below the “Suggested Ad” rate. Going below gets you less exposure. Experiment and see what works for you. END IT : To delete a Campaign, it has to have an end date. If your Campaign has no end date, which is recommended, edit it and then add an end date. Once the end date passes, then you can edit and delete it.

Running a Winning Promoted Listings Campaign! TIME TO LOVE YOUR DASHBOARD : In a conversation I had with the Promoted Listings team, they said the Suggested Rate changes regularly. This occurs as sellers create and edit campaigns impacting rates. For this reason it is smart to check your Promoted Listings Dashboard and Campaigns Rates WEEKLY.

Has the rate changed?

Is the Suggested Rate higher or lower than the last time you looked? Want to adjust your rate? Simply click EDIT on your Campaign and re-click apply Suggested Rate. Note: Suggested Rates typically go up during peak shopping seasons

Reminder you can edit and go lower than Suggested Rate or higher. As always test and see what gets YOU the best results.

COOL STUFF : Let’s talk your Promoted Listings Dashboard. The numbers you see across the top of your dashboard are for ALL your Promoted Listings Campaigns.

You can filter by each individual Campaign.You’ll get numbers for that Individual Campaign of Impressions, Clicks, and Solds! You can even customize the date range you search.

If you filter using SOLD, you see what date(s) items sold.

This is SUPER helpful if you’re running a sale or social media campaign. Using Promoted Listings and social media draws customers to your products!

As you analyze your SOLDS, note the number of Impressions (views), and clicks an item gets before it is sold!

HELP FOR STALE/ INEFFECTIVE CAMPAIGNS: Promoted listings typically work best for items with identifying numbers. This includes model numbers, barcodes, MPN’s etc

This does not mean Promotions Manager won’t work for long tail or collectible or vintage items that lack identifier numbers.

If after 30-60 days you see impressions with few clicks and sales, check the following. 1- Is your price competitive? 2- Is your listing keyword rich? 3- Are you using all the relevant item specifics? 4- Are you in the right eBay listing category?

5- Does your first picture (often called the hero image) POP! Does it cry “Click me?!” The majority of shoppers are on mobile. A clear, crisp, click worthy first image draws clicks and buys from eBay’s mobile shoppers.

6- There is some anecdotal evidence that ending stale Campaigns and creating a new Campaign can get results. This is NOT a magic pill. It works for some sellers. Realize eBay’s algorithms will recognize your “new” campaign and its listings. If your items were not getting clicks before, a new Campaign is not a sure fire magic fix. Review 1-5.

You can Promote a listing all you want, but if the listing isn’t “click worthy” rarely will you get a sale. It’s not the fault of Promoted Listings, it’s your listing.

BONUS: In Active Listings, or in the eBay listing flow you may see your listing(s) as Recommended for Promoted Listings. eBay is letting you know there is a demand for this kind of item. eBay has historic sales data for this kind, style, product/brand. By Promoting it with Promoted Listings you can accelerate your sale(s) of this product.

Check Suggested Rates regularly. Keep a close eye on impressions, clicks and sales to know quickly what listings need an edit or change to get results.
