WHITE WINE FEATURE

423 Illumination Sauvignon Blanc by Quintessa, Napa Valley 2014 12 / 46

Sauvignon Blanc is technically a “fruity” variety, like Riesling. But, unlike Riesling, Sauvignon is bone-dry and

evokes flavor from food. And, this one comes from a devoted Napa Valley winery. It displays a touch of the

distinctive smoky, minerally impressions that make this variety famous; and coming from Cabernet-country, it has

to be prove its worth. This wine is a firm companion to our Crab preparations, Scallops, Sea Bass & Poultry.

RED WINE FEATURE

1149 Mauro Molino Nebbiolo, Langhe, Italy 2016 12/48

From the ancient winemaking center of Piedmont, Italy, at the foot of the Italian Alps, there grows a grape variety

made famous by the little towns of Barolo and Barbaresco. The Nebbiolo variety is considered “noble”, but it is not

readily made into wine anywhere else besides this NW corner of Italy. Expect a light colored wine, like Pinot Noir,

but with a tannic backbone like Cabernet or Zinfandel. Built for Lamb, Osso Buco and Charcuterie, it is as easily

at home with Bison Ribeye or New York cuts. This version is the entry level version of the grape in that it is not

as intense, but it is completely representative of the region’s wines and a superlative bargain. Ask for a taste!
