MISSION — STAFF — TEAMMaui fan Rick Hanke, founder and designer of Maui Ultra Fins, has set new standards in fin design which are based on his passion for windsurfing and his professional background in aero- and hydrodynamics. The X-fin series for wave and freeride, the unmatched freestyle fins, the world-wide unique Delta fin designs for shallow waters and finally the new RTM-carbon fins are examples of our R&D that we conduct with professionals like Philip Köster, Sarah-Quita Offringa, Kurosh Kiani, Iballa und Daida Moreno.

We will also set new standards in another area: For environmental reasons we have changed our packaging completely to non-plastic starting with the 2019 season.

X-Quad fins are the thruster fins for a quad board with two X-Twin/ X-Twin-R-02 in the middle. Our pros simply love these superfast and radical fins. Also to be used in smaller tri-fin boards.

Having more rake, our X-Quad-S solve the weed problem that you can also experience with smaller fins. Combined with one or two X-Twin-S, you can tune your wave quad or thruster for those conditions. The Ride is the perfect freeride fin for all conditions. The new profile and elliptic outline are part of a very efficient design. The board gets quickly on the plane, has a high top speed, is easy to sail in overpowered conditions and goes upwind like a train.


The X-Ride follows the X-Wave concept. The thinner tip and the cut-out make this fin as powerful as the Ride, yet a bit more agile and looser in manoeuvres. The wider base allows for a ca. 2 cm shorter fin compared to our Ride model.

The solution for weedy conditions in slalom - in a light RTM-carbon construction. Just like the Slalom-Weed, the carbon version has a very efficient profile and a wider base that lets the rider go very fast with great control in chop. Also very good upwind characteristics and spinout-resistant. The RTM production allows a substantial weight reduction and increased performance compared to the G-10 version.

OUR SLALOM-RACE- AND SLALOM-PRO-CARBON FINS ...

... are manufactured at THM (THM-carbones.de), a northern German specialist for the development and production of carbon products following industrial standards. THM is also well-known for high-tech carbon mountain bike composites.

Their extraordinary know-how in R&D and manufacturing allows us to produce the best fins with the highest precision and lowest weight possible. When using RTM technology (Resin Transfer Moulding), pre-heated resin is vacuumed into a steel form that already contains the precisely cut and arranged carbon layup.

Our carbon fins have a perfect surface since there is no manual finish needed on the blade. Therefore, every fin is identical to its specifications in form, weight and stiffness.

The carbon Slalom-Race shares the outline with the wider G-10 version, but has a thinner profile. It accelerates extremely well exiting jibes, is fast on all courses and excels upwind. Just like the Slalom-Pro-Carbon, all serial fins are light, robust and absolutely identical in layup and performance due to the high-end production at THM in Germany.


The Slalom-Pro-Carbon was developed with the MUF slalom test team led by Kurosh Kiani over two years. Its specific design and construction guarantee absolute control when racing overpowered at max. speed in chop. All fins are absolutely identical in layup and performance due to the extremely precise high-end production at THM in Germany – and that at sensational weights of e.g. 230 g for a 30 cm TT version.

Our Delta wing paved the way to a completely new category of fins. Inspired by the aeronautic Delta wings, Rick transferred the special aerodynamic features to windsurfing applications:

• very short wing span combined with a large area,• very thin and stiff profiles,• high rake between 50 and 55 degrees and

• additional lift due to leading edge vortex at high angles of attack.

Our Delta fin range in G-10, Honeycomb and RTM/Carbon-construction lets you sail spots that can’t be used with straight fins. It is the only fin concept that works in shallow and very weedy spots, prevents touching ground and reduces the risks of injury and broken gear.

Tuning tip for Delta fins: Avoid too much back-foot pressure - especially when not fully planing - and keep the board fairly flat (nose down).
