A child need not attend regular classes i##ediately after ?oining the school /nough ti#e is given for the child tofeel e#otionally co#forta+le "uring this period 101 #entoring is done ;his #ay vary fro# a few days to a few

#onths An e#otional environ#ent conducive for studies has +een carefully created at Kaliyuva #ane

After this initial period an atte#pt is #ade to put the child into any one of the groups 'f the child does not fit into

any group 101 tutoring is done till the child +eco#es suita+le to +e integrated into any one of the groups

A child is allowed to #ove fro# one group to another depending on the individual progress ;he #ove#ent fro#

one group to another is highly individualiDed and not unifor# for all children

Move#ent of the children fro# one group to another is not period-+ound

A child is allowed to learn one su+?ect with one group and another su+?ect with another group

    Rationale '

Consider the case of a 12 year old 6id without the +asic 6nowledge of the alpha+ets and nu#+ers properly 't isdifficult to integrate the child with $thstandard children +ased on the age of the 6id +ecause the child would not

follow the lessons 't would +e a hu#iliation to #a6e the child to sit with 1ststandard 6ids .ut such a child finds

'n #ain strea# schools children have to continue in the sa#e class for a year whether they cope with the lessons

or not Children will +e #oved to the ne*t higher class annually 'f children are a+le to follow the lessons and #ove

to the ne*t higher class it is e*cellent 'f notS Kaliyuva #ane education syste# answers this =uestion A child

;his way nor#ally at Kaliyuva Mane a child learns +asics of #athe#atics needed for life and the s6ills for passing the

    1,thgrade Mathe#atics within a span of 3 to 5 years

    Rationale '

    As per the A%/ report 4 2,11 the acade(ic level o& 5th standard rural studentsin Karnata6a state is as +elow 0

1ri Auro+indo in one of his letters to his wife Mrunalini spells out his three types of

#adnesses ;he first one is this ' fir#ly +elieve the acco#plish#ents genius higher

education that od has given #e are Fis ' have a right to spend for the #aintenance of

the fa#ily and what is essential ;he rest #ust +e returned to od -hat does giving to

od #eanS 't #eans to spend on good wor6s ;o help others is a sacred duty

My second #adness is this0 .y whatever #eans ' #ust have the direct vision of od

eligion these days #eans repeating the na#e of od at any odd hour praying in pu+licshowing off how pious one is ' want nothing of this 'f od e*ists there #ust +e so#e

way to e*perience Fis e*istence Fowever arduous path is ' have #ade up #y #ind to

    follow it

My third #adness is that while others loo6 upon their country as an inert piece of #atter

7 a few #eadows and fields forests and hills and rivers 7 ' loo6 upon #y country as ;he Mother -hat would a son

do if a de#on sat on his #others +reast and started suc6ing her +loodS -ould he =uietly sit down to his dinner

a#use hi#self with his wife and childrenS ' 6now ' have the strength to deliver this fallen race 't is not physical

    strength 7 +ut the strength of 6nowledge ' do not say that the wor6 will +e acco#plished during #y lifeti#e +ut it

    certainly will +e doneO

Swami Vivekananda was of the firm view that a

nation is advanced in proportion as education and

intelligence spread among the masses. According

to him, Education is not the amount of

information that is put into your brain and runs riotthere undigested all your life. We want that

Education by which character is formed strength of

mind is increased, the intellect is expanded and by

which one can stand on ones own feet. It is Man-

making Education all round that we want.

Perhaps no other person or book define

RELIGION as candidly, using a very few words

as Swami Vivekananda. He declares, Each soul

is potentially Divine. The goal is to manifest this

Divinity within us, by controlling nature,

external and internal. Do this either by work or

worship, psychic control and philosophy by

one or more, or all of these and be free. This is

    Divyadeepa derives inspiration

    from the philosophy of Sri

    Aurobindo and Swami Vivekananda

and their ideals related to the

    concepts of education, human

    development and patriotism.
