Completion time- Approximately 1 – 1½ hours.

We recommend that two people install this product.

Proper installation is the responsibility of the installer.

Product failure due to improper installation is not covered under the Warranty.

YouMUSTuseallsuppliedpartsanduseproperinstallation procedures as described in these instructions when installing this air conditioner.

CAUTIONDO NOT, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third(ground)prongfromthepowercord.

DO NOT change the plug on the power cord of the air conditioner.

Aluminum house wiring may present special problems- consultaqualifiedelectrician.

LOCATION REQUIREMENTS:IMPORTANT:Observeallgoverningcodesandordinances.Checkthelocationwheretheairconditioner will be installed. Proper installation is yourresponsibility.Makesureyouhaveeverythingnecessary for proper installation.

• Groundelectricaloutletwithin4ft.(122cm)ofwhere the power cord exits the air conditioner.

• Theremustbefreemovementofairintheroomtobe cooled.

• Alargeenoughopeningfortheairconditionermust exist.

• Itisnecessarytohaveadequatewallsupportforthe weight of the air conditioner. The unit weighs between70and85lbs(32go40kgs).

STEP 1:REMOVE PACKAGING MATERIAL

• Removeanddisposeoforrecyclepackagingmaterials. Remove tape and glue residue from surfaces before installing the air conditioner. Rub a smallamountofliquidsoapovertheadhesivewithyourfingers.Wipewithwarmwateranddry.

• Donotusesharpinstruments,rubbingalcohol,flammablefluids,orabrasivecleanerstoremovetape or glue. These products can damage the surface of your air conditioner.

• Handletheairconditionergently: 1. Remove the air conditioner from the carton and

place it on cardboard. 2. Removeshippingscrew(A)fromeachsideof

thecabinet.(Fig.3)

3. Remove front panel by removing one Phillips screw(B)fromeachsideofthefrontpanel.Setscrewsasideandsave.(Fig.4)

4. Pullonthehandle(C)toslidetheairconditionerout of the cabinet. Place the air conditioner on cardboard.(Fig.5)

STEP 2:ATTACH TOP CHANNEL

Attach the top channel and side curtains to the air conditioner cabinet before placing the cabinet in the window.(Fig.6)

1. Locate provided bag of screws.2. Place the top channel on top of the air conditioner

cabinet, lining up the three holes in the top channel with the three holes on top of the air conditioner cabinet.

3.Usingthree#10x1/4ʺ pan-head Phillips thread cutting screws, attach the top channel to the air conditioner cabinet.

STEP 3:ATTACH ACCORDION PANELS

1. Locate provided bag of screws.2. Insert the right-hand accordion panel connector

tab into the accordion panel housing channels on theairconditioner.(Fig7A)

3. Insert the top and then bottom of the right-hand accordion panel housing in the top and bottom accordion panel channels on the air conditioner (Fig.7BandFig7C)

4. Slide the accordion panel housing into the accordion panel guides as far as it can go.

5.Repeattheabovestepsfortheleft-hand accordion panel.

STEP 4:ATTACH FOAM ADHESIVE SEAL

Attach foam adhesive seal along the bottom of the accordion panel’s bottom channel.

STEP 5:INSTALL CABINET INTO WINDOW

1. Center empty cabinet in window: Checkthatlowerrailofairconditionercabinetisbehindandagainstbacksideofwindowsill.Maintainafirmholdontheairconditionercabinet(Fig.9).

Lower window sash to hold the cabinet in place. Measure the distance between the right side of the cabinet and the inside of the window channel (Fig.10).

2. Attach the cabinet to the window:

FOR WOODEN WINDOWS Usea3/16″drillbittodrillthreestarterholes3/8ʺ deep through the three holes in the cabinet and intothewindowsill,anddrillonestarterhole3/8ʺ deep through the hole in the middle of top rail and intothewindowframe(Fig.11).Attachcabinettowindowwiththree#10x1/2ʺ pan-head Phillips screwsandone#10x3/4ʺor(1/2ʺ)round-headscrew(Fig.11).

FOR VINYL-CLAD WINDOWS Usea1/8ʺ drill bit to drill one hole through the hole in the middle of top rail and into the window frame. Attach cabinet to window with one #10 x 3/4ʺor(1/2ʺ)round-headPhillipsscrew(Fig.11).Placetwosafetylocksintotheholeslocatedinthebottomofthecabinetasshown(Fig.12).

3.Checkthattheairconditionercabinetistiltedbackto1⅛ʺ to 1½ʺ(3~4°)sothatwatercanruntotheoutside(Fig.13).

STEP 6:ATTACH ACCORDION PANELS TO WINDOW FRAMES

1. Extend the accordion panels out against the windowframe(Fig.11).

2.Drillholesanddrivelockingscrews:

3.Trimtheweatherseal(6″x3/4″x1/12″)withproperlength,peelofftheprotectivebackingandplug any gaps if needed.

STEP 7:COMPLETE INSTALLATION

1. Insert window sash seal behind the top of the lower window sash and against the glass of the upperwindow(Fig.15).

2. Placethewindow-lockbracketontopoflowerwindow and against upper window sash on right sideofthewindow(Fig.15).

3.Usea3/32″drillbittodrillstarterholesthroughtheholesinthebracketintothewindowsash (Fig.15).

4. Attachthewindowlock-brackettothewindowsashwithtwo#10x3/4″or(1/2″)round-headscrewstosecurewindowinplace(Fig.15).

PINGING OR SWITCHINGDroplets of water hitting condenser during normal operation may cause “pinging” or “switching” sounds.

HIGH PITCHED CHATTERHighefficiencycompressorsmay have a high pitched chatter during the cooling cycle.

SOUND OF RUSHING AIRAt the front of the unit, the sound of rushing air being moved by the fan may be heard.

SLEEP FEATURE:Press the SLEEP button to initiate the SLEEP mode. In this mode, the selected temperature will increaseby2°F(1°C)30minutesafterthemodeisselected.Thetemperaturewillthenincrease(cooling)ordecrease(unitswithheatingonly)byanother2°F(1°C)afteranadditional30minutes.Thisnewtemperature will be maintained for 6 hours before it returns to the originally selected temperature. This ends the SLEEP mode and the unit will continue to operate as originally programmed. The SLEEP mode program can be canceled at any time during operation by pressing the SLEEP button again.

CHECK FILTER FEATURE:Press the CHECK FILTER button to initiate this feature. This feature is a reminder to clean the Air Filterformoreefficientoperation.TheLED(light)willilluminateafter250hoursofoperation.Toresetaftercleaningthefilter,presstheCHECK FILTER button andthelightwillgooff.

ENERGY SAVER FEATURE:Press the ENERGYSAVER button to initiate this function. This function is available on COOL, DRYand AUTO(onlyAUTO-COOLINGand AUTO-FAN)modes. In this mode, the fan will continue to run for 3 minutesafterthecompressorshutsoff.Thefanthencycles on for 2 minutes, at 10 minute intervals, until the room temperature is above the set temperature, atwhichtimethecompressorturnsbackonandcooling starts.

FOLLOW ME FEATURE:This feature can ONLY be activated from the remote control. The remote control serves as a remote thermostat allowing for precise temperature control at its location.

To activate the Follow Me feature, point the remote control towards the unit and press the FOLLOWME button. The remote displays the actual temperature at its location. The remote control will send this signal to the air conditioner every 3 minutes until the FOLLOWME button is pressed again. If the unit does not receive the Follow Me signal during any 7 minute interval, the unit will beep to indicate use of the Follow Me feature has ended. The actual temperature can be displayed at the unit by pressing the FAN only mode.WhenintheCOOLmode,theunitdisplayindicates the set temperature.

TO SELECT THE OPERATING MODE:To choose operating mode, press the MODEbutton. Each time you press the button, a mode is selectedinasequencethatgoesfromAUTO,COOL,DRY,HEAT(forunitswithheatingfunction)andFAN. The indicator light will be illuminated and remain on once the mode is selected. The unit will automatically initiate the Energy Saver function under COOL, DRY, and AUTO (only AUTO-COOLING and AUTO-FAN) modes.

TO OPERATE AUTO FEATURE: When you set the air conditioner in AUTO mode, it willautomaticallyselectcooling,heating(onmodelswithheatingcapabilities)orfanonlyoperationdepending on what temperature you have selected and the room temperature. The air conditioner will automatically control room temperature around the temperature you set. In this mode, the fan speed cannot be adjusted. It starts automatically at a speed according to the room temperature.

TO OPERATE FAN ONLY: Usethisfunction( )onlywhencoolingisnotdesired, such as for room air circulation or to exhaust staleair.(Remembertoopentheventduringthisfunction,butkeepitclosedduringcoolingformaximumcoolingefficiency.)Youcanchooseanyfan speed you prefer. During this function, the display will show the actual room temperature, not the set temperature as in the cooling mode.

TO OPERATE DRY MODE: In this mode, the air conditioner will reduce air humidity. If the space is a closed or sealed area, some degree of cooling will continue.

TIMER: AUTO START/STOP FEATURE:● Whentheunitisonoroff,pressthe TIMER

button.TheTIMERONindicatorlightilluminates.It indicates the Auto Start program has been initiated.

● WhenthetimeofTIMERONisdisplayed,pressingthe TIMER button again illuminates the TIMER OFFindicatorlight,indicatingtheAutoStopprogram has been initiated.

● PressorholdtheUPorDOWNbuttonstochangetheAutotimeby0.5hourincrements,upto10hours, then by 1 hour increments, up to 24 hours. The control will count down the time remaining until start.

● Theselectedtimewillregisterin5secondsandthesystemwillautomaticallyrevertbacktodisplaying the previous temperature setting or the roomtemperature(dependingonwhethertheunitispoweredonoroffandthemodeitisin).

● TurningtheunitONorOFFatanytimeoradjustingthetimersettingto0.0willcanceltheAutoStart/Stopprogram.

A NOTE ABOUT THE TIMER: When you set the timer, the unitwillonlygoononceandoffonce.Ifyouwanttheairconditionertocycleonandoffbasedondesiredroom temperature, you do not need to set the timer. Instead, set your desired temperature and the unit will cycleonandoffbasedonthattemperaturesetting.

AIR DIRECTIONAL LOUVERS:Usethe4-waydirectionallouverstodirecttheairflowup or down and left or right throughout the room as needed.Pivothorizontallouversuntilthedesiredup/down direction is obtained.

Move the center handles from side to side until the desiredLeft/Rightdirectionisobtained.

ADDITIONAL THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:● TheCoolcircuithasanautomatic3minute

time-delayedstartiftheunitisturnedoffandonquickly.Afterunitisturnedoff,leavetheunitofffor a minimum of 3 minutes before attempting to turnbackon.Thispreventsoverheatingofthecompressorandpossiblecircuitbreakertripping.The fan will continue to run during this time.

CABINET CLEANING● Besuretounplugtheairconditionertopreventshockorfirehazard.

The cabinet and front may be dusted with an oil-free cloth or with a clothdampenedinasolutionofwarmwaterandmildliquiddish-washing detergent. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry.

● Neveruseharshcleaners,waxorpolishonthecabinetfront.● Besuretowringexcesswaterfromtheclothbeforewipingthe

controls. Excess water in or around the controls may cause damage to the air conditioner.

● Pluginairconditionerafterunithasdriedcompletely.

WINTER STORAGEIf air conditioner will be stored during the winter, remove it carefully from the window according to the installation instructions. Cover it with plastic or return it to the original carton.
