WhippleHill has created an integration with Wikispaces to enable schools

to create, manage and grow their own wiki community safely and

securely. By using Wikispaces Private Label schools can foster the collaboration

of a wiki environment while maintaining full administrative control over users,

content and access.

Single Sign-onEnabling teachers, students and parents to access secure wiki pages via SSO

ensures safety and privacy without sacrificing flexibility and functionality. And

because administrators retain full control over the site, managing wiki users,

pages and content is easy.

A WhippleHill administrator can activate the integration from the installation

screen in Podium, creating a new role for a Wikispaces Manager. Then, from

the Wikispaces Settings task, the Manager enables the SSO integration,

completes the Shared Secret and customizes the Guest Login Link Label, if

desired, and saves.

A simple settings screen allows you to set up your

Wikispaces authentication and customize link

text for your guest access login screen.

As the owner of a wikispace, granting other users access to your wikispace is as

easy as copying and pasting a URL from wikispaces to any location in Podium.

Teachers or Content Editors can add a link to

their wikis wherever it is the most convenient for

them. Links can be added to a Link Category or

inserted in any editable text.

Teachers, parents and students logged into Podium can then obtain direct

access to the wikispaces they have been granted access to by clicking on the

authenticated links, without the need to enter additional credentials.

Clicking on the authenticated link will provide

single sign-on (SSO) access to the user in the

applicable wiki. This will prevent them from be

required to enter an additional username and

password.

If the user has not been authenticated through

Podium, they will be directed to a login screen

where they can either enter their login credentials

or select the Guest Access link and enter

Wikispaces as a guest. Guest access privileges

are designated within the wiki.

Users not logged into Podium who click on a wikispaces link will be

prompted to log in as a Guest user by clicking on the customizable Guest

Login Link. Wikispaces then automatically logs the user in as a guest with

access to the desired wikispace.
