Wigan Life CentreA multi million pound new leisure and public service complex located on nine floors over two sites. “One of the most ambitious council projects every undertaken in the country”. The Centre brings together council, health, leisure, housing services, a state of the art swimming pool and a new central library.

The scale and scope of the project shows Demco’s capabilities in working collaboratively with partners throughout the design and installation process; from reviewing design statements, contributing to workshops and consulting with suppliers and contractors on design, delivery and product development.

Furniture, fixtures and equipment This is a prime example of the scope of Demco’s FFE offer, from poolside; seating, changing room furnishings, lifeguard steps and seating to dry side; counters, office furnishings, water coolers, clocks to microwaves and fridges and much, more.

Design and delivery Our design teams worked throughout the project with partners, attending planning meetings, workshops,

making site visits and producing concepts to final drawings for approvals and sign offs. A co-ordinated ‘sample day’ gave everyone the opportunity to see products and furnishings in one place.

Collaborative product development From concept to cuppa – we worked hand in hand with the architects to develop their conceptual ‘brew stations’, located in the shared breakout spaces

Enquiry pod points; through a consultative process we produced 3D visualisations and manufacturer drawings for these branded service points with integrated lighting.

Delivery and installation The complexity of this dual site project made access particularly difficult. We carefully phased deliveries not only kept furnishings protected from works damage but also that the installation was synchronised with building services.
